Thinkpad T430 & Mechanical Watches
I have a Thinkpad T430 and mechanical watches. The connection?
The magnet that activates the sensor for the screen lock functions is located where I rest my right wrist.
There is a serious risk of magnetizing the watch and having to ask a watchmaker for help to demagnetize the internal parts of the watch (nothing serious, it is part of the maintenance).
Since I have never used the screen lock functions in my life, I directly remove the magnet and the functions connected to it.
The procedure is reversible, so I will keep the magnet.
You can see in the video that the sensor located at the top of the monitor is very sensitive and to activate it you just need a screwdriver with a magnetized tip or any small magnet.
Regarding my watch and its tolerance to magnetism, I refer you to the Seiko website:
www.seikowatches.com/instructions/html/SEIKO_7B75_EN/BONDSYifblbeac
As for the measurements, it is a test without scientific value, not a laboratory test. The tool is not professional but it shows that under the wrist area there is no longer that hot spot.
This video is for informational purposes only, it is not a tutorial.
Do not replicate, there is a risk of irreparably damaging your laptop.

Warning: I am not a computer professional, this is not a tutorial! I'm upgrading my Lenovo Thinkpad T430 with an i7 3540M CPU and 16GB of RAM. In addition to this, I'm replacing a few worn components, including the touch pad buttons and the slot cover that cracked. I had already replaced the keyboard and the touch pad sticker. I will remove the optical drive to replace it with additional memory...

I am fixing the key fob shell of a Peugeot 206. This new shell is unbranded and I would like to keep the part of the original shell with the manufacturer's logo. Fortunately, the new shell and the old one match and I can use only the new part corresponding to that of the destroyed keys. The transponder block is in the part with the logo that I have to keep so there is no need to move it to the ...
Scratched Disc Repair (audio CD)

I managed to save my scratched audio CD. There are many ways to do it, I chose the method that you have now seen in several of my videos: superfine sandpaper (P5000) and fine polishing paste for plastics. The method is simple: I sanded patiently until the scratch became imperceptible (I had to increase the sanding surface to avoid creating depressions). Unfortunately the scratch was very deep a...

Hi everyone! This is not a tutorial!! Let me start by saying that the recording of the video lasted about two months, the time for the necessary pieces to arrive from China and the drying times for the glue didn't help me. I went crazy trying to find coherence between scenes shot two months before, others shot to anticipate the next ones after the pieces arrived, etc. I'm obviously a novice at ...

Warning: This is not a video tutorial, do not reply. Do not modify your glasses. If you have any problems with them, contact a professional. Don't risk irreparably damaging your glasses, the lenses and frames are very fragile. Removing that nasty melted sticky plastic from my Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K740. After a few years it became difficult to write with it because of that glue that remains even on clothes and gets worse on cold and humid days. Blowing Compressed Air on a connected PC Fan is safe?
In the video where I upgrade the EEE PC ( ua-cam.com/video/oCSuYR-K7Ts/v-deo.html ), I blew compressed air on the fan, speeding it up while still attached to the motherboard. A user pointed this out to me, so I decided to investigate a bit. I thought that as long as I didn't overdo it, I could avoid causing physical damage to the fan: twisting the axis, bending the blades, or sending dust all t...
My Leather Wallet Care (with Fun)

I try to revitalize my old and dehydrated ostrich leather wallet using specific soap and conditioner products. REFRESHING the Asus Eee PC (Epic Revival Edition)
The restoration process of my old Asus Eee PC (1000HE). I start with an external cleaning by vacuuming the dust and disinfecting the case. I replace the ruined feet and I do a hardware upgrade, changing the RAM (from 1GB to 2GB!!!) and inserting a new SSD in place of the old (and broken) HDD. I install Lubuntu instead of the old operating system (I don't even remember what it was, I think Windo...

Are these ray ban Justin’s? I have a black pair about 4 years old. They’re becoming sticky now. Going to try this now too.
@@shawndurbs Hi! No, I don't think they are Justin's. These glasses are fifteen years old. What you see in the video is irreversible and may not give the desired results (indeed, may ruin them forever). keep this in mind if you decide to proceed.
Thanks. I understood that. Yours turned out pretty cool. If they get ruined it’s ok. They’re already feel ruined with that deteriorating rubber coating.
Dear author: I learned many years ago that denture cleaning tablets work WONDERS for cleaning off some of the nastiest build-up on espresso machine parts!! You will need to use warm water and more than three tablets at a time.
@@mangamaniaciam Thanks for the info, I'll do some research. Espresso machines are generally made of steel, moka pots are often made of aluminium. I should check the chemical composition of the tablets

Yeah, i believe that most laptops have closed lid sensor in the upper part, above the keyboard. Guess that this thinkpad is a rare exception.
I hope I have saved some mechanical watches from premature servicing 😀
I replied anyway
Did the work turn out well?
@@OrdinaryLife-ABC I’m still getting my stuff together. I’ll be cleaning a 20 year old pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that got all gummy after being x-rayed at the airport. Hope it works they’re antiques at this point 🤞
I hope everything goes well. This method is invasive and there is no going back. Let me know how it ends 🙂
2 times "YASHICA" name in front of the lens -> RADIOACTIVE 1 time "YASHICA" in front -> NOT RADIOACTIVE !! Youts is clear 😊
I did research at the time of this video but to be sure I measured my lens myself 🙂
Nice polishing job. It would be nice to have before/after temperatures for comparison.
I didn't think about doing the comparison, it's too late now 😔
@@OrdinaryLife-ABC Yeah, very good job nevertheless.
I laughed when you removed the screws xD Nice upgrade tho, I love these. Once I even bought an old laptop just to upgrade it and sell further with loss.
I like it too. I got my hands on all the family's PCs and laptops. I started making videos too late 🤣
nice editing, keep it up !
Thank you! 🙂

What's that spray?
Hi! As I wrote in the description it is a common single component acrylic spray, nothing special. The only thing I looked for the paint is resistance to sunlight
Still doesn't tell us anything..no name of the product, seems to work for you. OK. Good job.!
A funny channel
Netbooks probably weren't all that great when they came out, as people were trying to use them as daily drivers with varying results. But given how cheap they can be had now, they make for neat little machines to play around with as well as for running retro games.

This end😢

Just a hint, next time when you do those flashing scenes. Tell it somewhere that epileptic people can avoid that video. But other than that, good video and i have to do it myself too. Thanks! :)
Hi. I hadn't thought about this ☹️. Can you tell me which minute you're referring to so I can at least put a subtitle just before it

I could hear the BIOS/CMOS battery screaming "What about me?" Enjoyed the video, Ta

The sock at the start had me instantly! +1

@OrdinaryLife-ABC honestly i don't know how to change my hard drive in this eee900. It has 2 issues, the guy who I bought it from put a 4 digit password in bios (changing hard drive will fix this I think) and he disabled usb port, sd port etc but once drive put in that should fix that too. It has xp but I would like win7 hard drive put in. Basically once I send it to you, it will boot up and you can go on Google but nothing else works.
Thanks! Good for you for repeating the caveat about NOT doing this on glass. And I had never heard of watch polish and especially grateful for a product name.
Hi, thanks for the comment! I actually recommend not doing this at all!! :-) This procedure will brutally remove any surface treatment that is typically done on prescription glasses or higher quality glasses, including sunglasses. It will destroy everything! I did it on old workshop glasses to restore some transparency, the video is not a tutorial. However, you can find the name of the product in the comments below, there are dozens of them with several names in the "popular e-commerce platform", just search for watch polishing paste.
I've added even more warnings to the video, to the first comment and in the description! :-)
should b fine
Can run RDR2?
You mean the video game?
@@OrdinaryLife-ABC Yeah (it's a meme) but a cloud gaming...?
I have no idea, sorry. I highly doubt it will work
Very good, I'll try to do it, the part about lubricating the surface with vaseline oil is a good idea, since the plastic seems to be a little dry.
HI! The vaseline oil on my PC worked very well, it brought the plastic back to a nice shiny black. Very little is needed and once spread on the surface it can be removed with a cloth. It must be reapplied, it is not a definitive procedure, but at least it is non-toxic and harmless (considering that we put our hands on it) and can be done in two minutes. Thanks for the comment!
Exactly the same upgrades as i did for my eee 1005pe, running linux mint. I think that 2GB of ram is the most limiting factor for those machines.
