Lyrics:
Moving Target
Fear is the siren
Love is the lion
Save the sorry words
How many senses, harm you
Your mouth
Your eyes
Your heart is the hardest
Hate is a hero
Sleep a loaded gun
How many demons, charm you
How many senses, harm you
Your mouth
Your eyes
Your heart, guarded
You are a moving target
You are a moving target
You are a moving target
Lies become the kiss
Breathing in and out the gist
Aimless
(How many senses, harm you?)
Tasteless
(How many senses, charm you?)
Your mouth
Your eyes
Your heart is a target
You are a moving target
You are a moving target
You are a moving target

This Video features Chris Urban from Crazy & The Brains, Claudi Love from Pinc Louds, Dan...
Crazy & The Brains Mexico
Переглядів 1225 років тому
A throwback to the Brooklyn Tea Party days when I was producing music for the Crazy & The Brains crew. Bassist, Brett, had a special relationship with Malcom, the cat, as did we all. I had talked about making a video for a song, and this was an idea I threw together just to see what it would look like. Mexico, featuring Adam Green, is the 7th song off the album, Let Me Go.

Best heard in headphones, or high quality speakers. Audio/Video example of a well recorded drummer (Brendan Galvin) at Dreamland Recording Studios. Microphones, close and far, capture the wonderful sound of a big room in upstate NY. Sorry for the low quality video, these were all captured with iPhones. I'm so grateful that he sent that!
This man HATED Palestine and said muslims should just give up there third most holy site. Hed be so proud of his peers if he were qround today
Thanks for sharing Jeffery 😊
overkill!!
How so?
Love to you Jeffrey, you’ve also created some of my favorite songs. Rest In Peace David Berman. A true genius.
Bless you 🙏
long live barry
I don’t think I’ll ever truly get over his passing. It’s so hard to watch people who you relate to so heavily succumb to the same demons that plague you.
Thanks for sharing
I know there is always this want to stay cool but I am now a believer in actually telling the amazing people in your life just how much you admire, respect, appreciate what they've done. I no longer wait until their funeral to let them know how much they mean to the world, they deserve to know it before it's too late. It might not change their actions in the future but awesome people deserve to see themselves from your perspective even just for a few seconds.
💞
I hope Jeffrey Lewis knows that he's so loved.
I tell him all the time.
here is a video that I did with David Berman ua-cam.com/video/lAsin0kB3jk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=coteleapelor

i knew the moment he started reading he'd probably cry April of 19 had me in a similar dark space, and that amazing homage he wrote hit like a ton of bricks I'll be honest. im new here. just found this guy and the band and just wanted to look into more stuff. But after that....I have to find out more about that dude. sounds like an incredible loss to everyone who knew him. Proud of this guy to keep going like this
I’m glad you sent that email. You spoke for many. Thanks.
I'm watching this with a guy who used to work with you, drunk at three am. You're less impactful than Chris Cornell but more impactful to two drunk fools than Bruce Cockburn. Make of that as you will.
I recently got into David berman and was amazed by what he did. He didn’t have to show us how much he loved and lost or what battles he was losing, but he did. I’m not sure what drove him to keep producing this stuff even while in the deep (I’m not an artist or musician at all) but I’m glad he did. And I’m glad you reached out to him even though you might of thought you were being uncool or cheesy. I don’t think anyone could save David but at least you let him know he did things that mattered. I like this saying because it really sums up what that email did and how we should treat eachother “ If you admire somebody you should go ahead and tell them People never get the flowers while they can still smell them”. Thanks for doing that, you made my heart ache in the best way possible. Whenever I listen to him now I’m going to think of David as Rambo battling the insurmountable.
Vale David Berman
Breaks my heart. I think one of the worst things that go through someone's mind when they reach the end and can no longer get through their battles anymore is what they leave behind. I didn't know Dave Berman, but he left behind something that I will always have, and even though I can never experience anything new from him, I will always feel he gave everything he could and that was enough.
(Very) long story short, I had developed an intermittent e-mail exchange with David after glimpsing an exit sign for Goshen, NY on the highway. I screeched across three lanes of highway and traffic with my wife and kids in the back because I had to know if there was a Farmer's Hotel. This was many years ago at this point, but as luck had it I got there just in time. It was boarded up and 'For Sale' but the hotel sign was still hanging prominently out front. I sent the pictures and a note to David via Drag City and he was kind enough to reply and connect me with a special friend of his who helped to write the song. Years later of course, Purple Mountains came out of nowhere and without warning but with enormous force. I hesitated reaching out to David for silly self-conscious reasons but I did anyway. I thanked him for the ten new rooms in time. I told him that I was using every afghan he shared. Not nearly as poignant as what Jeffrey wrote to David, but David replied to me almost immediately with a very kind note and in a way that only DCB could. I am glad I resisted my initial hesitation and reached out to connect with David. I am glad that Jeffrey did the same and shared it with us. I am glad this video exists and I could see it too. To everyone with me in this war zone, and everyone who cares about David and what he shared, and to Jeffrey for speaking on our behalf and his heart, I stand at salute.
Jeffery I love your honesty. Thanks God for people like you. Down to earth and so so real. You are great artist in many fields. Than you for existing.
Thanks for writing him, most didn't. You made his live good for a moment, day, week. Keep well.
I just left this comment on The Needle Drop Channel, reviewing Purple Mountains: Damn! I just came here to comment on how much I enjoyed this album. I just picked it up by suggestion purchasing another album. I wasn't familiar with him or the other bands. This is heartbreaking :(
lol Strange and beautiful. Just how I like my Bliss
Adore your work David. So sorry you're gone.
Wow. You were so lucky to know him and to WORK with him kinda. I've always loved David. You really did gush!! Haha, but it was awesome. Great job. I'm sure it made him happy. I still get sad and love to listen to SJ and Purple Mountain, when I'm not sad too, but these days I dont cry as much, no darkest thoughts. I wish David couldve found a cocktail of meds that worked for him too
Interesting back story to this video: Exactly after I cut Barry told me to never do that again. He didn't know I was going to be moving around with the camera and it really fired him up for the rest of the day. We have a very special relationship though and everything is cool. I'm so grateful to have each and every opportunity to spend with him.
How do I get that poster? I will pay anything.
google jeffrey lewis silverjewsland, it's on his shopify store. Only have to pay 10 bucks + shipping

There is a place past the blues I never wanna see again, so incredibly beautiful and moving, I know what it feels like when you so desperately want to save someone.
Thank you for sending this email. I find consolation in David’s music and your eulogy, knowing that he had the luck for someone to tell him what we feel so intensely about him.
I for one am so glad you gushed.
Yes! Me too hehe
still think this is the greatest keep coming back. I hope I make it to one of you boys someday soon.
So good
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve been thinking about David a lot lately. And watching this now has inspired me. I want to be as sincere as this when speaking about and to those I admire. Also, I listen to the Purple Mountains record at least once a week from start to finish. I never want to forget how honest and brilliant that record is.
Spend some time listening to his others. I think they're all amazing in the same DC berman way
Really moving words. Why did I not know David's music that well until after he died? He was such a special soul and songwriter.
I hear so many people say that. Myself included
Emotional and powerful. Thank you.
💓💓💓 lovely and bittersweet. I know we all had something similar to say if we had ever gotten the chance. Glad you got to say it and he got to hear it.
Incredible
Thank you for sharing. No words. Thank you for yours.
oh my god. jeffrey's words are so beautiful. what a sweetheart, i wish they could've met. thank you for sharing this clip. <3
nfw i cant believe this
Damn you hit the nail on the head. So eloquently expressed, Jeffrey! thank you for sharing this beautiful exchange.
I needed this
that was beautiful. it's such a hard thing… I’m glad they had that moment to be kind to each other.
