I'm here to show everyone that my 99 Dakota now blows hot air over 110 degrees. It will only take about 20 minutes to fix the heating problem. And only around 20 bucks.

    Thank you, Bro. I own a well-maintained 1999 Dodge Durango 5.9L V8 4WD in immaculate condition I purchased new back in 1999 and about two years ago my heater started blowing lukewarm heat. I took to the dodge dealer and they replaced the thermostat and it did not fix the problem. I took it to several repair shops and they all replaced the thermostat, still did not fix the problem. I even had a heater core flush. No go. Where I live in Virginia the winters are not so bad but it does get cold enough where I want good heat in the cab and getting the morning ice off the windshield. I watched your video and it makes sense. I ordered the T-fitting and a 5/8 dummy hose with a bolt to plug it. I also ordered an Xacto Precision Razor saw set from Amazon ($14) to easily and cleanly cut the radiator hose. I ordered the t-fitting from KatsBlockHeater.com, part number 28115-C. It cost $14.28. It arrived via UPS in two days. The fitting came with three clamps two for the 1-1/2 hose and one for the 5/8 hose. I got some heavy-duty tie-straps to secure the water-pump dummy hose from flopping around. I will make the modification by end of the week. This year, there will be heat! Again thank you.

      I found the Tee at Autozone special order in the store it is free shipping to the store and is only 7.99 Kat's 28115. My 99 Dakota 5.2L I bought new finally has heat again. I cannot figure out why it had good heat when truck was brand new then after about 5 or 6 years it started having barley any heat. I flushed system 3 times and changed Thermostat a few times and even the water pump and fan clutch but nothing helped. This modification finally fixed the problem and I have heat again.

      @@valleybuilt8979 yes it's working much better with this modification. My heater core flushes perfectly with garden hose so tried this.

    I just bought a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4 wheel drive to save miles on my diesel pickup. A beater with a heater and have been disappointed with the heat. I flush the heater core it was not clogged. Unplugging the air conditioner pump for the winter gave me instant heat.without the drain capabilities I don't know how it will do on defrost that is yet to be seen. I have a question however by rerouting the heater core return line away from the water pump and into the top radiator hose does that cause the engine block to run low on coolant before the thermostat kicks in?

    Jesus christ.. you poor bastards.. NOOO. Your beetles transmission has to be a temp between of 95f-113f,completely level- with thransmission on. It is basically built to check itself on the right amount.There is some fluid loss over time so basically.Depending on if you live in the south or areas of high temps your going to replace fluid incorrectly. I would also suggest not using that "high grade replacement fluid" i just cracked my transmission and found they used that walmart shit. I put in the right amount and fluid bought from the dealership the skipping/hardshifts are gone. You can also order it from vw independents on line for half the price. I was just in a bind.

    • @wizbang16
      @wizbang16 2 роки тому

      You are absolutely correct! You must follow the vw procedure of having the car level, running and the correct temp. This guy did not do his homework.
