    Its called tiers... make sure you tie you wall down.. which the mattress and box spring is what we use to tie tge load down. I like to put large items in first then boxes up off the floor... i do not start loads off with boxes

    Do these people own any furniture, or just live out of boxes?

      Some people opt to sell or donate their furniture and get new (or new to them) stuff when they get where they're going. Edit: We are actually doing that with half our furniture. All the old crappy stuff got sold or will be getting donated before we move. There isn't much we are taking with us other than hundreds upon hundreds of boxes.

    2:43 no pad on the ground to keep the mattress semi clean. Sorry, I'm just picky. I even go to the point where I'll shrink wrap just one side, called capping it.

    Why aren't the two white pieces at 1:50 wrapped or even draped? If any of those boxes have any sort of hard debris or even a pebble stuck to the bottom it will scratch the crap out of the tops of those items. Which look like dressers.

      @chrispeters9654 5 років тому

      not a lot of people take their appliances with them. and there were some chairs in the beginning. Clients vary all the time. I've had plenty of moves where its mainly boxes and standard furniture from living room, while the rest is ordered new to meet them at the destination. Nonetheless, both DR table and chairs are very easy to pack.

    Any professional mover will load ALL his awkward items first! A monkey can stack boxes and square furniture. And it's called a Tier not a row. And loading the truck is never a group effort. Driver loads and helps carry. Helpers clear the home and help pad if they know how to properly pad. Boxes last!! Put them in corners and off the main obvious walls where furniture goes and you aren't moving them twice! Duh! Amateurs!

    A lot of unnecessary tape used. Beds should b off floor. Stood up on 3.0s too square load off tighter. What kinda mover loads on top of a mattress. Very flemsy and unstable. It’s ur video but try putting mattress on top of dresser or boxes much safeer tighter and efficient. You obviously aren’t too experienced.

    • @trentt6622
      @trentt6622 6 років тому

      A monkey can load a bunch of boxes. Worst first. Start with ur more difficult items first so that u have more options to load around the difficult pieces. Just another tip.

    Having all 3 guys loading is inefficiant. You need a dedicated loader, usually the driver, who will tell the other guys what to bring out. (not saying he should be camping out in the truck , he can be going in and out himself to get hole fillers and chowder while he waits). That's why you see so much clutter built up in the truck. There is no guidance. And where are the rubberbands?

      I', m a driver and thats exactly what happens on 3 mans haha. 1 in the truck 2 usually bringing out needed items and helping on down time. 4 mans is a differnt story. 3 on 1 can get cluttered quick haha

    you need to invest in some ladders buddy you're not supposed to stand on the furniture

    • @davidmcclean8811
      @davidmcclean8811 8 років тому

      There is absolutely no reason not to stand on a piece of furniture that is structurally up to it and has a durable finish. In efficient residential moving there is no such thing as a general rule like "you are not supposed to stand on the furniture". Sure particular items of furniture might not be appropriate for standing on to place another item at a higher level. But In the video I did not use any item of furniture to place an item on the top layer that was not adequate to that purpose. Space on a moving truck is at a premium! Every single additional piece of equipment carried on the truck potentially will cause you to run out of space prematurely. Step ladders are surplus to requirements on local residential moving trucks. However, if your customer happens to have one, sure you can use it. Bottom line is, since no two homes have the same contents, loading the packed contents of a typical 4 bedroom house on a 26' moving truck is a challenge that requires the crew to be creative every time and so, as a definitive proposition I will dismiss you statement as plain wrong. The goal is to load the contents of the house on the truck and not run out of space and to do that in the most efficient and therefore cost effective way possible. And if that involves using an item of furniture as a step ladder provided the item of will not be broken of have its finish damaged as a result then it is a good move.

    what are the exact 9 points if I may ask?

    • @davidmcclean8811
      @davidmcclean8811 8 років тому

      You can ask. I see that you are a mover. So it is likely not going to be new to you. It is more a training principle than anything else. Good experienced movers are likely doing this as a matter of course. Imagine that side of the truck and the box had a unifrom Tick tack Toe grid drawn on the side of it. So it has 9 zones. Then taking weigh, durability, size and uniformity of individual boxes and items into account, the crew knows what items to bring out first and what items to bring out last.
