Scion xB remove loud exhaust, install OEM muffler
Переглядів 6 тис.5 років тому
A Scion xB that I purchased came with a very loud exhaust. I went to a wrecking yard to get the factory Toyota exhaust that these cars come with.
I take that shifter bezel out so much it just pops out with ease and there isn't enough pressure ever on it to Crack it
Thank you
Great video thank you
Great video. Clear and concise.
You could have just removed that plastic cover
Can you tell me the part number please
Can you tell me what's the part number
Omg thank you!!!! Been looking for answers couldn’t find one thanks man!
What kind of rims are those??
I’m just trying to customize my scion internally so this really helps
Join the club. "Club xB" the sweetest Boxes in America. It's free, Google it.
Mine is the opposite, it’ll turn on with the doors but you cannot manually turn it on
That seems a lot of work just to tighten a bolt..
Well you gotta do what ya gotta do. Life ain’t easy lol
Thank you brother
Where did you mount the actual connector?!
Do u know what aftermarket muffler was on there
Tight !
Thank you!!!
No loud exhaust better
That muffler is the WORSE to pop out. So much easier getting back in thank God lol
Success!! Thank you for this video and also for the one on the electrical connections for the 4-pin tow connectors. Those arrive tomorrow. I had a Dickens of a time getting the muffler off the rubber hanger but eventually found a way.
I know this is 2 years ago but anyone that's just came across this head, I had the same one in my civic and had to continuously reset it every time I started my car. It was plugged into the factory harness nothing cut... They SUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKK!
What kind of wheels are those ?
Wish you would've shown how to put the exhaust back up
I fiddled with my bulb and it came back lol
Post more 1st Gen XB s? Know of someone currently posting?
Mufflers are too loud normally I think lol
How dare you
EVERYBODY finding the Hot Lava, the green, or Chameleon Brown - Limited Editions - grab the "badge" with the car # on the dash (by glove) These cars have badges that mark them as one of a kind. Hot Lava only had 2100 made. My car is #1512. Heck - I'd buy them off you for example!
#0059 here. 5 speed
Thanks for the video. Nice to see how that rubber exhaust hanger slips off, brake cleaner worked well to clean and lubricate. An old bolt on each side snapped when removing so a friend is welding that rather than mess with them. It's not easy but try to get some WD40 inside the frame there is a large hole on the XA.
Buen tutorial , ahora aprendí a ajustar el freno de mi toyota celica 05, saludos
Thanks bro. I bought a 2004 GTS just last week and I noticed the brake had problems engaging when parked on the driveway. Really appreciate it.
what about the gear adjusters inside the drums? does it make sense to adjust them instead of the parking brake cable?
Try the easier one first
If you do i think it's 7 or 8 clicks/rotations for the correct adjustment on the drums.
Where did you get the side skirts and lower lip?
I’m surprised he didn’t grab the pedal covers
I had to drill the holes on mine so that they would match it was a bitch the pre made holes didn't Align worth a crap...
The four main mounting holes were a little too inward on mine. Looks like it was bent in shipping. I just bent each side out a little but did not show that in the video.
Curt hitch model here... I used a pry bar and a few swear words, and levered the hitch mount just a little wider and hurried and got a couple threads in the bolt by hand while the holes were lined up. It seemed I had to keep the two bolts on the other side a little loose to get the needed flex when prying. You can find a nice little spot to lever off the frame. I did the muffler side first and so it was the drivers side where I had to pry the hitch metal wider and sneak a bolt in. I was just about to resort to drilling the holes bigger.
Just did this yesterday to put in a new CD player lol
Looks sick man, good stance.
Appreciate it!

You car been modified in anyway to fit these wheels and tire combo ?
No. The car is lowered but that only makes the fender clearance worse. The rear does rub if the suspension compresses enough. Generally it is not an issue
Im looking to get a single din stereo like your. Do you know where you got the harness/bottom cubby to fill in the double din gap?
Single DIN dash install kit with wiring: amzn.to/2RprXFY
When you change out yours did your mileage stay the same or did it start over?
The mileage stayed the same.
where did you get the strut bar from
I found it in a wrecking yard. I eventually found two and sold one of them on eBay.
@@toyotapagoda1949 lol same here
Mucho better.
How do you replace side air cover mine on the driver side was pushed in and broke
What Lowering coils are you using?
Harness diagram ????
what is the relay part number?
What kind of springs are you running and shocks struts
Looks good Man, Thanks for putting this up
Bro, what wider tire can you put with 15x8 +20 offset but with the stock suspension? I will be using as daily with 4 passengers and I'm trying to avoid rubbing issues.
With full height suspension, you can run 225 width if you want. I've done that on a Scion xA and it was fine. No rubbing. If your passengers are really heavy then I suppose the car might lower enough to rub.
I just bought a used Curt but without any bolts can I use my stock bolts? I'm not going to be doing anything heavy just putting a bike rack on it
