!5 or 20 years ago I had the chance to work on one of these. The owner had installed a flat head ford v8 and a 700r4 automatic overdrive transmission. He told me of the story of him driving from the mid west to California and then to Florida where the starter broke off. (The reason I was repairing it). A very unique Army truck, as I think they were only made for a couple of years.

The GPW/42"script" it is the most difficult Jeep to restore in 2021. To make such a "terrible-job" it is "mandatory" to find not less than 95% ORIGINAL PARTS: even at least 1 glass and 5/16"-3/8"mkd-bolts: in a really serious vehicle bolts are in external vision, I mean ALL the engine parts: I made the above mentioned job since 1986 to 2O18, "lost" wife (I made the same job for my beloved VW-Typ82, down even to the 96 % "KZ"mkd bolts+5%+ "Verbus/"Graeka" and the original HP25(DIN) engine and all is components.

Great Truck! Is the hood prop original to that model? (handy for sure even if not original) Congrats on having the carburetor positioned correctly! Helps a lot when you're climbing. Especially when the "road" is shelf rock.

We were there. Great show. Great town. Great people! The 58 Chevy was badass, as were all the cars and trucks. Won’t have to pave downtown streets for years to come... nice new rubber coating!

Dec. 14, 2019----Thanks for the video. Got a couple of these 1/35th scale kits in my unbuilt stash. Think I copied a couple of photos via Google because I remember there only being one of these with brown seats. Going to use mine in some zombie/ apocalypse dioramas.

Early ford , supposed to have rubber gear lever cover, not leather ( just wanted to find something .... ). Perfect restoration. I like the 91th bg , b17 squadron markings too.
