@@25abovestudios I’ve tried what I call the floating thumb where it’s sticking out and riding on the knob. To me this is a variable because it’s so difficult to create the same torque or pressure as you pull thru the shot. And it’s so easy the get a punchy thumb habit. It takes having the release set up perfectly for your hand and the control to never ever move that thumb forcing the shot. I’ve found great control by moving the thumb so it’s resting on the release and partially on the knob. Two pressure points and static reference points. You will probably need to rotate the knob to find the best location so the thumb pad rides on both places equally. Now all you need to do is practice pulling thru WITHOUT moving that thumb. It will automatically slide back as you add tension and fire. All you do is focus on the target and when the pin settles begin just pulling. Seriously, after you do this like 50 times you will how well you are in absolute control.
