Wow Stew, I thought this post was titled only a studio REHEARSAL! Sheesh. I'm not sayn "too fast" or anything.. just sayn what that 1 & 3 can do live onstage?
The best band ever IMO, simple songs played in exquisite arrangements. I can play this song on guitar, but not like Andy can. I don't lie when I say, this band, was why I learnt to play guitar, bass, keyboards. Heck Music. Their live impro jams are the stuff of legend
Why in the hell Sting destroyed the songs live! Not even closed with the energy of the original song. I can't imagine Rush, Dream Theater doing the same stupidity.
Maybe because those bands had a different musical interest. The Police basically and from a rhythmic point of view aim for the groove and improvisations lives. Sting said at concerts that they made music for people to dance to.
@@cristiansilva2849 Rush admired the Police in interviews at the time & were greatly influenced by them starting on "Permanent Waves"stripping down & simplfying their songs which greatly benefitted them commercially.Alex Lifeson expanded on Andy Summer's big guitar sound & use of chorus pedals.Stewart Copeland & Neil Peart were friends until his passing.
@@Joaquinonbasstheelectriklovein Yes absolutly i agree!...i read about it somewhere and saw some article talking about that they listen very the police at that time that they lidershiping the sound of the music with reggae, new wave and rock mixes and wich were a huge influence on Rush in the early 80’s...as a curious story "Behind my Camell" (The Police) won the Best Rock Instrumental Performance Grammys awards in 1982 over "YYZ" (Rush)
After Ghost in the machine there is no comparison, I too was disappointed in Synchronicity maybe knowing it was their last album I expected much more than a soft mellow album.
Stewart Copeland is by far one of the greatest Drummers of all time. His hi hat and Ride work affected me immensely as a Drummer, and taught me a new way to see and play my DrumKit
FYI, this is NOT a Lititz, PA rehearsal, as has been reported many times! I believe it is a studio recording made in Chicago during the Synchronicity Tour.
The Police? YES SIR!
hammer danke grossartig
I like this better than the song that made it on the record.
I dare you to get a better snare sound.
That snare is SPRAYED across the music amazing not human Stew. How did u do this? It’s scary. Please never leave us. 🦾
Pure magic, today's music is a bitch children.......

Better than the original
Stewart 🤪
Copeland is in the top 5 GOAT drummers in history - You can fight amongst yourselves for the other 4
Nein and I remember getting his solo stuff and wishing I didn't.
S Copeland is the best Hi Hat man bar non Fantastic drummer and top geezer, could listen to him all day
Other than Ginger Baker,Keith Moon, and John Bohnham.
In my opinion
Stewart Copeland is one of my top five favorite drummers. The other four would be John Bonham, Neil Peart, Alex Van Halen and Jeff Porcaro.
So sad to see this leaked and so glad I never agreed to release material to those who promised never to publish copyright material
@vladix123 ??? Your reply has absolutely no relation to the point I made at all.

Same
I have no idea why Sting gave up on this band.
Copeland and summers don't either......
Because Stewart and Andy wouldn't do exactly what he wanted on his songs. Unfortunately he didn't realize the friction is what made them great.
He outgrew its constraints. I don't blame the guy.
He wanted to do his thing his own way.

lol Rush and Dream Theater overrated crap
@@PatoFrango How dare you ! Rush overrated!!! Now dream theatre I'll give you that one 😉

Only Copeland can express this song this way...
The rehearsals were in Buffalo and the Chicago right at the start of the tour
I imagine this is a soundcheck.
One quickly realizes this is no ordinary band...
Just in case one needed a proof there was only one leader in this band great musicians but only one leader.....
The Police The Best STEWART COPELAND THE BEST
When The Police play reggae, it's unlike anything! Very interesting!!! Copeland's grooves are always mesmerising!
killer bass
Best band ever!
Absolutely!
That hi-hat work...

Excellent use of a delay unit.
Should be called the Ghost Rehearsals.
