I'm kind of surprised you didn't get kicked out. Was this place so empty they didn't care
TylerMas0n The mall was completely empty of shops except for the two end stores. It was torn down a few months ago.
@@scottariagno6899 very sad. I worked at the Dairy Queen there in the 80's lots of fun memories of this mall
How did you get inside? I think it's virtually impossible now
This was a while ago, it was still open at the time.
The camera is mounted with a velcro strap, though I have added a wedge of foam to get a little downward angle. The 808 cannot be started from the controller, though Ares RC sells a camera for the QX 130 that can be operated from the controller. Its not as good as the 808, but still takes good quality videos. The Mobius might be a little too heavy for this quad, though. Here is some information on the quad, that as some videos from the Ares camera. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2028187
also is there a better camera that can be used on the qx130, for ex. the mobius?
nice quality video. how did you mount it? can you start and stop the video from the controller? what is the flight time with the 808 #16 v2 and the ares qx 130?
Where's the life drama? Character arc? Pathos? Needs more staging -- perhaps balloons, or, say, a couple giant Ridley Scott pointless slowly rotating fan blades, backlit, casting deadly, yet beautiful, golden light shafts through gently fogged air; love, loss, flames!
I've been curious for years -- what is on that mysterious topmost level above the stair step/dish fountain? It has a handrail, but I've never seen a light on, nor a person up there. Like Walt's secret office above Pirates of the Caribbean it taunts with possibilities. Every kid should have their own abandoned mall (wow, sad to see all the safety rails around the once open and loverly pools and fountains) Getting pretty good with that -- you're ready for "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee" PS. Set the date on that thing -- it's not, to my knowledge 2015, but if it is where you are -- awesome! And please contact Stephen Hawking to collect your time travel prize.
+Buz Carter As I recall that topmost level was added in the early '70s. It originally contained shops. As foot traffic began to decline in the mall and stores closed it became an educational place of some sort, Pryor something, and when that closed, it was unused. We used to try to toss coins into the "dishes" on the center fountain poll from that top level but it was tricky, might miss and hit someone instead a couple levels down.
When I worked there in the mid 80's at the top of directly in front of the stairs was a Glamour Shots directly to the left was a Dairy Queen that was where I worked. There was a few ladies shoe stores and a I think it was a place called maybe Nuts and Nibbles or something. I remember going there and getting cashews and things they would weight them out and put in little baggies for you, There also was a Radio Shack I believe Spencers was upstairs also.
Video was shot at an indoor fun fly in the local community center. I was flying an Ares QX 130 quad copter with a 808#16 key cam, V2, and D lens. Unfortunately, I kept forgetting that I was filming, so there are some dizzying turns. I need to fly different with a camera, than I do without. Much to learn!
Now I can experience the eerie corridors of M.S. without leaving my desk. Thumbs up -- WAY up!
