    Hi Exy, love your videos keep up the good work. I was wondering what the best strategy is for VR?. The medentry technique is the briefly skim and then read the question stem and then locate info through keywords. But this technique seems somewhat ineffective as you have to repeatedly locate parts of information. What was your personal strategy?

    Hey exy! I loved your UCAT video and I was wondering if you would be able to elaborate on how you made the most of the questions you did in the lead-up to the exam. E.g. did you do anything specific to review mistakes or did you just keep churning out questions??? Thanks :)

    Hey Exy, great vid. Just wanted to know if ur SAC scores dropped closer to the UCAT, especially cos needing to prioritise UCAT more. Would u have any tips to prevent this?

    • @exy2475
      @exy2475 Рік тому

      Hey Josh, thanks for the question! I sat my UCAT the first week of T3, meaning I pretty much didn't overlap the peak of my UCAT Prep with VCE. Towards the end of T2 as I was ramping up practise too, generally it was fine. The main reason why is if you're able to be consistent and intense with your UCAT practise, you really don't need any more than 2-3 hours of practise a day at the highest peak of your UCAT practise, and I think for most people anyways, considering heaps of y12 students would have more than 2+ hours of screen time just on apps like TikTok, it's really up to your discipline and organisational skills to see if you can fit that practise in. I would say mainly just try to focus on the high yield skills and knowledge for your SACs and try to trim off the bits of study that don't actually help much with retaining content - for me this was taking notes just as an example. Hope that helps!

    Fr the gaslighting and scaring I’ve experience from ICM is just unreal. I disagree on the methodology critique though, I think their methods to the UCAT do work well. But the gaslighting and close mindedness of their program made me feel really uncomfortable and de-motivated to do more UCAT practice.

    I got a raw score of 32 in chemistry and a 30 in methods, and I think that's largely because I didn't study hard enough and, when I did, I didn't think I done it very efficiently. I'm just wondering whether I can obtain a high enough atar for medicine. Given my scores in methods and chemistry, do you think it would be too difficult for me to get an atar for medicine even with seas? I have already started getting a head start for vce and the ucat and been improving how i study.

    • @amirafatehi3288
      @amirafatehi3288 Рік тому

      hey- im on a similar boat though im not that worried about making it to medicine- i just want a good atar for more options. im got a 31 raw in methods last year and im only doing 5 subjects next year none of which scale too well one thing i find helpful is knowing how well i need to keep performing year round ie specific sac marks etc and i find that helps me alot and i wish i didnt neglect it in methods :( try seeing what study scores you should be aiming for to get to your desired atar by using an (accuarate) atar calculator and try your best!!!

    • @exy2475
      @exy2475 Рік тому

      I wouldn’t rule it out, you’d just have to work incredibly hard. If you can turn things around in year 12, with the way the aggregate is calculated it will have almost no effect. The key is to be able to transform how you study :)

Do you have any tips or resources that I should direct myself to for these? Also, for Logic Puzzles, how did you improve at them? I am alright at them, but I feel as though I lack in speed and technique when I do them. Hope I am not bothering you, but thank you for the video :)) It was very helpful.

    Hey I'm in year 11 and exactly in the same spot as you were when you were beginning. So do you recommend literally just buying medify or medentry (whichever) and begin doing questions and questions? Then seeing weak points and working on them etc and keep going from there? Also I'll probably go with medify after watching your video and some others and was wondering what the difference is between the study and prepare?
