Great Video . If I connect One synthesizer to one input and another one to another input can I record them symultaneusly to separate tracks? Thank You
Hi, do you take advantage of the fx rack on the looper x? Why or why not?
Way to go man. Fantastic teaching and you sound great. Killer content.
It's awesome, it would be nice if you could stop an individual track instead of just muting that would just add that bit extra but still fantastic. Maybe an update may add that in the future?
Nice, dude. Great playing and explanation. Just bought one because of you!

This lesson randomly popped up in my algorithm. It's a great explanation and I hope it gets more views!
Hey, what do you mean with "the looper x is optimized to a DAW, not just plug in to a regular speaker?" Whaat?
Sounds amazing through a speaker but even better through a daw using its output routing.
@@Luan_and_only now, as a beginner i have no idea what that means
@@Robin_0011 if you check in around January I’m releasing a gigantic music course which will help you :) it’ll be free and in my online music school if you want to check it out. If you’re a beginner then sound isn’t a big deal just plug in this beautiful pedal and play! When you get more experience the DAW stuff and output routing will matter but for now just have fun! 🤩
Thanks for the free lesson Luan! I was wondering where are you from?

This is such a unique take on this that you have my interest. Truly. Carl is an amazing guy and his arrangements are about getting loops down fast and I agree about connections. Love this dude. Love this. ❤👏👏👏
Hate to burst your bubble guys but that looper is 98% the discontinued headrush looper board. The only difference is the hardware design, and the main GUI. Look that up on the internet. Don't waste your money on that crap.
Just wanted to ask does your bass sound you get when looping acoustic come from your X or the line 6 as I’m about to do two months on a ship and just want to take the X and maybe a vocal unit. Help 😂
@@wallacenock7423 I use Resonance bass plug in through ableton and run no effects into the looper X. Honestly my approach to live shows has been to step away from getting the perfect sound now I prioritise clean vocal>great songs>crowd engagement>simple/fast loops. My guitar tone/looping tone is so far down the list of priorities and I was getting trapped trying to impress music friends when 90% of what I did didn’t matter if I didn’t have those first 3 parts locked down. I’ve actually removed octave units on my bass tone since it’s more for me than for others, if you can just get a great kick sound then everything can be yolo and get the best sound you can with what you have.
@@Luan_and_only yea I get what you saying for sure. So does the bass channel run on a separate out into an interface that takes it into Rosinance bass plug in and then back into looper. Sorry it gets me confused. I make my loops mostly on the fly so I get good crown engagement. Which I really am happy about. The guitar sound is great but always just battled with a nice bass sound. My kick is now changing to a beat box kick much like yours. But that another challenge 🤣🤣
The performance was sooo good
This is meant as no offense but I feel this a little off base. The RC-600 can be set up with a mute mode if you want by using assigns. Even better you can combine mutes with regular start stops which gives you more flexibility and less toe tapping. Less toe tapping makes it easier to connect with your audience. There are quite a few tricks you can do on the RC-600 that actually make a much more efficient loop building and performance process than the X. I owned the X for a month and it felt so archaic and limited. (loved the pedals though) On the software side Loopy Pro should be worth a mention because it is even better than either of these hardware options. Talk about fast workflows that help you connect more with your audience..Loopy pro allows you to design your own workflow and has endless little tricks that minimize toe tapping.
This is an amazing comment, thank you for taking the time to share this!!! Love this kind of chat, expanding on what I mentioned in the video since it’s a clip from my livestream. You’re right you can use other loopers and even the loopy pro to generate a workflow similar to what you get out of the looper X but that’s work, a steeper learning curve as well as output routing is so horrible compared to the X. I only speak from my experience and my needs, I need a loop pedal that out of the box allows me to be creative, engaging and most importantly control where my audio is going so I can manipulate it with little friction. The amount of time I wasted trying to optimise the wrong equipment for the job is staggering hahaha 🤣 that’s why I lean heavy into the looper x, and it is the closest I’ve gotten to the feeling of playing in a band vs other loopers. Those are subjective metrics though. AlteredWax you’re a legend thanks again for jumping in the conversation! (Ps have you sold the looper X?)
@@Luan_and_only Thanks for the reply. I'm glad that the X is a good fit for you. If it's fun to use that's the most important! I returned my X within the return window. I am keeping my eye on it though to see if it gets the updates to bring it to a more usable functionality for those that want/need a different workflow. I will say I loved the pedals, build and feel of using it. It just lacked some features that I've grown used to and are a part of how I perform.
@@alteredwax5775 those RC 30 feel pedals are 👌
I agree best looper I have ever used. Sold both RC 600's
RIP RC 600, I sold one of my 300’s I kept the other incase I needed to record a tutorial hahaha 🤣
@@Luan_and_only yea I had the 300 and two 600 and when I got my X it became a game changer. And I now understand how Ed Thinks when he loops. Makes so much more sense connecting with your audience. The only gripe is it’s bloody heavy 🤣🤣🤣
Saves money on gym membership hahaha 🤣

Hi, I'm a relatively new loop pedalist. I actually got this as my first loop pedal and I've learned a lot of songs and had a lot of fun with it so far. I noticed at 8:42 you mention its optimized for a DAW and not plugging it into a speaker. I'm confused what you mean by that? I bought this for live performing/busking.. why wouldn't it be optimized to plug into my PA system? I also would love to learn how to EQ everything like you mentioned and use it to its full potential. How would I learn how to do this/do you have any videos on that?
Amazing!! Welcome to the looper x club! From my experience the full potential of the looper x comes out when you’re using a DAW, that’s the workflow Ed Sheeran’s team optimises his pedal and set up for. It’s quite masterful how easy it is to pull great sound with it. When it comes to the speaker if you’re just plugging directly into a speaker you’re missing out on mixing more channels. For live performing it’ll crush if you have a mixer with more than 4 inputs, I’m excited to use it for a show with my soundcraft ui 12 mixer and the effects on that will help me pull a great sound but not as good as a DAW. I’ll have a full course coming up soon on capturing audio to show you the eq stuff and I’ll be finishing a professional musician course which will go into mixing for live shows by the end of the year, all the videos will be on UA-cam and you can watch them in order at my online school for free :)
@@Luan_and_only Thank you, I'll definitely be keeping up with your channel then! Can I ask why you would use a soundcraft ui 12 mixer if like you say,.. isn't as good as a DAW? Are there other benefits to using one or the other in a busking/live performance scenario? Because I'm trying to find the best way to do it in my use case as its mainly just for street busking My biggest issue is I have no idea what I would need, or how to set everything up, like equipment, wiring and knowing how to use it. Also knowing how to mix everything, including main vocals, not just from my loop pedal. If you had a fiverr page where I can pay for tutorials, you would make a lot of money out of me lol. I feel like there are no videos on this, or I'm just looking in the wrong places Also, just checked a few of your Ed Sheeran covers which are awesome too and would love to learn how to do livestreams with your level of sound quality as well. How does that work and where can I learn? Is it difficult to setup?
The soundcraft ui 12 is my live mixer for all my shows, it’s an affordable unit that gives me 8 inputs and I can mix everything on stage with my phone ;) Using a DAW at shows is a bit of an expensive set up and the wear and tear of gigging is not something I want to expose it to just yet hahaha 🤣 Definitely, if you want we have my online music school and you get direct access to me and our community. Every Friday students post videos and I give live feedback. One of my students followed my advice and now he’s booked and crushed his first two shows. If you don’t mind hard work, I’ll show you everything I know how to build a successful career playing music for a living.
Regarding all the set up stuff, I will 100% have full courses showing every single aspect of my set up available as soon as I can record them. Right now is end of wedding season and start of event season so I’m recording videos when I can outside of my performance, livestreaming and teaching schedule. It’ll cover pretty much everything you’ve asked for all those scenarios :)
@@Luan_and_only Thanks for the reply! Curious, but what does your live setup look like then? For me its just my looper x, then I connect directly into my bose s1 pro pa's and connect my primary mic to my pa, then guitar + secondary mic goes to the looper x I'm not sure if I should get a bose sub1 as sometimes it can get a little muddy/unclear.. feels as though with my loops my main mic gets drowned out and not sure if a subwoofer would help there, or if that's just something I can fix with mixing or if I should get a better pa? Either or, I'm going to look into this soundcraft ui12 you mentioned. Hopefully I'll figure it out and I'm going to keep a lookout for your courses!
Fantastic!!
Thanks Brad!!! I’m so happy your show went well!
Nahhh here at 8:27, how can we use chords in our improvisations like you?
Easiest way is fret the chord and play two or more notes from them. That’s pretty much all I’m doing except I might just use 1/2 fingers to only fret the notes I want from the chord in the solo.

This is great! 😃 Incredible performance guys! So many happy people 😊
Thanks AJ!! More to come soon ;)

Hi Luan!, sounds really good!, I'm a working musician and looking to buy the Sheeran x, but I'm not sure if is possible to jump from part A to B an possibly C, im currently using the voicelive 3, i can jump from A to B, i overdub the bass in each seccion so i can undo the bass or whatever any time, it's possible to do something similar with the Sheeran x??, thanks!, and thanks for your videos!, great vibes!
Yup you can clear one track or all tracks very smoothly. I’m not familiar with what pedal you are using but if you’re concerned that you can’t clear a specific track they have that function available and a peel function to undo layers. Both are very easy to use.
mate how are there not more people on here is beyond me. keep it up!
Honestly I think it’s because I don’t play enough Wonderwall
Sounds great! What guitar is your acoustic , brand and type? My Taylor sounds terrible plugged in.. especially strumming on the higher frets
Mine is a Mini Maton EM6 the lowest of their range. Part of what makes my guitar sound great is the processing I use, I have compression and a good eq which help a lot :) I’m not familiar with the Taylor sorry 😞 but as long as you have fun playing it is what matters. As a rule of thumb for setting up the pick up eq I usually dial everything at full and if it has a mid boost I like to do a slight boost around 1.5-3k hz, if it’s too bright I’d suggest lowering the high part of the eq very slightly. Also massive note, is your guitar professionally set up for the string gauge you use?
If you’re new to Looping our free Looping course is here: www.skool.com/luanschoolofmusic/classroom/fa629949 Our Looper X deep dive course will be available soon, the more likes this comment gets the faster I’ll prioritise it over other videos.
Awesome stuff, I picked up a looper X recently and it's fantastic. Would love a bit of a deep dive into your settings on it - you got the guitar and main mic with dry sends? So you can still hear them regardless of what tracks are armed? I wish it had input FX. The boss rc600 can do some of the stuff you mentioned the 300 couldn't, but the 600 sucks (imo) and doesn't have mute/unmute mode. You can try to customise it to work that way but it can't do it properly. Another thing the X has - being able to lay down loops onto new tracks *without* stopping the initial recording, you can do no-lead in loops this way and it builds songs so fast. Love it.
Fwiw I've owned 2 boss rc600s at different times and sold both, just don't gel with it. The X on the other hand, instantly clicked with it.
Love this! I have my looper course in my online school that I’ll be recording my full settings break down using Ableton with it (it’s all free) it should be available in about a month or so.
@@Luan_and_only - nice, I'll check it out when it's available. I wish the X had more outputs when used as an audio interface, it only sends stereo outs - I assume you're hooking up the outputs from the X to a separate interface? It'd be so awesome if it sent out 8 tracks when in DAW mode though - imagine if it sent out 4 outs (for each input) and then 4 outputs (for the loop tracks). Could totally bypass a middleman interface that way, it'd be killer then. Still awesome as it is, even straight into my PA it just wrecks. Love the thing. Crazy seeing how much hate there is for them online haha.
I'm a huge fan of get the gear for the job, the Looper crushes at its main job but I'd 100% recommending getting a scarlett focusrite 18i20 (what I use for my DAW and set up) or if you've got the cash an Apollo X8. My sound is dialed in with minimal effects/processing through the looper x and uses ableton and low latency plugins. Resonance Bass (RBass) is a waves plugin that makes my bass tone crank really well paired with the looper's octave. Key thing for my chain is I never run my vocal through the looper x, my main vocal has its own input to my DAW and effect chain, I do however have my backing vocal/beatbox mic set up through the looper and those tracks are optimised for their main purpose. I'm quite excited for when I buy my second one for live shows and then I'll have a lot to say about their onboard effects since I'll be only relying on the loop pedal for effects with compression/eq handled mostly through my mixer (Soundcraft ui12).
@@Luan_and_only - yeah man, I agree, I've only got a little 2 input interface (TASCAM US2x2HR) atm because I was only doing one track at a time before I got the Looper X. I've been using the X at gigs though and run my main mic through it but not to any of the tracks - just a dry send straight to my PA for the main mic. Second mic for my 0/10 beatboxing attempts haha. Dry sends are a great way around it - I also have a dry send for my acoustic guitar but this gets a little iffy when I lay down a bass line (only while playing it, after it's looped, then you don't hear guitar+bass at the same time). Input FX would be awesome because I'd love to have the "Dry send" include some reverb but I have the dry send go to an input on my PA (EV50M) and I just add some reverb there. Would be awesome to have it all on the X itself but the workarounds are perfectly fine imo. I appreciate your channel man.
