The Miller band at the top of its game!!!

Thank you for the download. Tommy's iconic trombone solo, followed by Jimmy on the clarinet make this a special version of this classic song. Their arrangements were always classy and set an elegant tone. This is a nice recording, with good presence and fidelity.

Lionel Hampton was a giant of jazz and made some amazing music, even into his late 80s. Was privileged to see him live and he sure gave quite a show as the "Hardest working man" in show business on the vibes and drums.

Jimmy Dorsey was often overshadowed by Tommy when they were together, but he was an excellant band leader in his own rite, as shown here by the precise and swinging rendition here. JD was still swinging in 1954.

Les Brown was one of the most enduring of the Big Bands and was the "House band" that played on Dean Martin's long running variety show from 1965-74, as well as Bob Hope's go to band for his tours.

Beeny Goodman is always great, and this little novelty number was likely background music for the late 1930s radio sations. It's a largely forgettable tune with precise and lovely execution, elevating it to worthy of saving.

"Stage show" was the name of the Dorsey brothers TV show. Classic, and classy, Dorsey treatment of this great standard. Do you by chance have the other song listed on the label "The High and the Mighty?"

What a nice version of this old classic tune. You can imagine sitting in a late night diner drinking a cup of coffee while this plays on the radio in the backgroud !
