When I drive from Buena Vista to Colorado Springs in the winter this area is by far the coldest spot, often 30 degrees colder!
It's crazy how some people can complain non stop. wow.
My partner snores so I’m used to the snoring lol.
im told this is the most brutal section of the trail. it goes through the highest areas of the state. pinhoti in general is meh. summer too hot and humid and overgrown, winter.. moist and covered in slippery leaves.
I knew I knew that view and old cabin and #53..I have some land out there and my buddy does too.
What month did you do this backpacking trip? I'm planning one for September after Labor Day weekend, hoping there won't be so many other people around.
Thank you for the information about the cheap Chinese product
Thanks for the video. I just posted mine today from my stay at the campground in Jan.
Hello 👋 Classy Lady, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for sharing your informative video. I haven't seen you for the longest time. Take good care of yourself and stay safe out there. 😊
Heya! I hope all’s well with you up there (switching into NorCal speak) because it’s been HELLA cold and wet down south! 😉😆 It’s nice to get back to making vids for fun and I’m looking forward to getting back up there later this year! 😄 All the best! 🤗
What a great trip. Everyone needs to go here to experience this amazing piece of nature. I hope one day you can go to Samoa but if not, a 2 or more week stay in the Hawaiian Islands again will be nice. You don't need a giant wallet hotel to sleep in to enjoy being there.
Thank you - it was an amazing trip and I agree everyone should go! I want to go to Samoa - the primary cost is the flights.. pretty sure I can swing stays with my Clan there which would be amazing too. Some day! (But not today.. 😆)
I cannot help wondering if you returned to Ecuador, since this was a year ago. I left the U.S. 12 years ago to live in the Norte Sierra of Ecuador, just a few miles from Otavalo. North of Quito is a totally different World. We have had none of the problem that Quito and the South have. Quito has the same problems as New York, L.A. and Miami have. In my town, you can safely walk the streets any time of the day or night. I have no reason to return to the U.S. as life is so much easier here. And no matter how hard you try, the life we have here is something no one in the U.S. would be able to comprehend until they left the U.S. I have traveled the World but this is where I founds continuous happiness. So if this place sings to you, you will return. Otavalo is a great place.
Ahhh it was actually 2 years ago and I have not made it back yet.. but I’m hoping my lag between visits will be shorter than it was last time, which was almost 6 years! I consider Otavalo a must-stop any time I go.. and just love it there. From what I’ve heard from friends in southern Ecuador, the trouble is mainly in the cities; they‘be been unaffected to date 😅 I’m so glad you found a place to live that you love!! 😄
Several scuba diving trips to Molokini crater (wall diving & turkey fish) & Makena (turtles & nurse sharks) in 80’s/90’s via Lahaina. Banyan Tree ! I had an African Grey (Timneh) parrot for 13 yrs. Best pet ever! V smart, friendly, gentle. He picked up words & phrases at random. But I never could get Loki to say “surfs up” 😂
I’m guessing surfing isn’t a big sport in Africa.. 😆 I always wanted to learn scuba, but snorkeling already makes me feel like I’m suffocating 🙄
Aloha! 🌺🏝️🏔️
Aloha ‘oe!! Just wanted to share that YT offered to translate ‘aloha’ for me, which I thought was hilarious 🤣
@@SuperClassyAdventures At least over here in the Gulf Coast, if you get drilled it’s just sand; not coral 🌊 🪸 🏄♂️ 😬
Spent 3 days in Los Algodones last week... dentist. Glad ya had a good visit.
Eeee I hope your choppers are all good! It was tacos so of course it was a good visit 😉😆 although as border quickie day trips go, I don’t think I’d choose toothtown again.. that place is overall pretty depressing with minimal charm
Jan ‘24: Just spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Holtville hot springs. Pd $40 to use the LTVA right across the road by the day use parking. Daily soaking. These pools are not clothing optional but the 5 Palms spring (8 miles N) is. No chemicals & pools are cleaned/flushed every Tuesday! V nice.
I was back in the hot spring at Holtville to kick off 24 myself! Love that place as weirdly-located as it is.. I just park for free in the free range BLM area on the south side of 8
That is an old bridge. They stopped riveting bridges around WWII. It really needs a cleaning and painting to stop the corrosion. I used to build or repair bridges in CT. Nice video. Good Luck, Rick
Thanks Rick 😊 They’ve probably never cleaned or painted that bridge - it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere.. and in a place that gets next to no precipitation but I agree it would look pretty awesome spiffed up!
Good times! I went back there and checked out 4th of July but didn’t find much of anything there
Super good times! I remember that you went back but I thought you had found some rocks on the butte as well 🤷🏻♀️
🍄
Wish I’d had some of those for the next campsite we went to 😉😂
@@SuperClassyAdventures a thing to share in a magical place 🍄x
Hey Classy! Great photography
Thank you so much!! These places are so gorgeous the pics just take themselves 😉😆
I love it
Thank you so much! 🤗
Beautiful views. I hope you get some good weather for hiking camping or just casual day to day travel and hanging out. I know people in Indianapolis having 2° today. Take care.
That sounds miserable - I’m over here complaining about 30 degrees 🥶😆 I’m just coming off a fairly whirlwind round of adventures so hectic start to the new year but at least I did get to start it off in a hot spring ☺️ Happy new year!
@@SuperClassyAdventures Maybe you can see one of the superblooms.
Unless a whole lot more rain happens, I don't think there will be much of a superbloom this year... another storm is on the way right now though so maybe..? Fingers crossed - this area is parched and needs all the rain it can get!
Nice
Thanks!
You did Amazing camera views , i enjoy your videos .
Thank you so much! 😄
Merry Christmas and A Happy Healthy New Year to You and Yours. Good Luck, Rick
Thank you so much, Rick! I hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best in 24!! 😄
Hi Michelle. If you can spare a moment, I'd love some advice on trekking poles/ hiking sticks. I'm thinking of investing in a pair but quickly realized I don't know what I need -- foldable, twist-n-lock, etc. Any suggestions?
Ironically I just took a lady out last week to teach her how to use her poles 😆 I personally prefer the telescoping kind because there are fewer failure points per pole.. I’m currently using Black Diamond ones that are actually the kid poles (I’m short 😂) and have used them for well over 4K miles and they’re still in great shape, even despite saving my ass from hitting the ground on a near-daily basis. Whichever ones you get, don’t cut off the straps like some gram-weenies do - it totally negates their proper use. I hope that helps and happy hiking (and new year!!) 🤗
Hey I’m finally on UA-cam lol. Good times my friend! 🤘❤
Took me a minute to work out the name 😂 welcome to YT Recon 😉😁
Oh yea, Van Goat 😂👏. A few yrs back, I spent several weeks hiking the Sups out of the Peralta TH. Great training area. AZT transits on the back (east) side. Seem to recall some good hoodoos, too. Nice sky footage!Thx for taking me back - vicariously.
Hahaa 🐐! It’s a gorgeous area I haven’t spent much time in.. looking forward to getting back to the superstitions again. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Merry Christmas sweetie! Long time since I have seen anything from you. Next time, you come to Georgia let me! Hugs Peach
Thank you so much, you lovely Georgia Peach - Merry Christmas to you and all of yours as well!! Can’t wait to catch up with you again my next time around 🤗
It shows that you put an effort into this video. Happy Holidays. Good Luck, Rick
Ha - thanks! This is pretty much my version of one of those digital photo frames since I can’t exactly keep a mess of photo albums in the van 😳😆 happy holidays to you too! 😄
Is your brother ok? Hope so. Loved the video!
He is, thank you so much for asking! And I’m glad someone besides me enjoyed the rando mishmash! 😆🤗
Do they have accommodations for horses ? Place looks amazing
Yes! There are multiple corrals. The water wasn’t turned on when I went though; so I’d be prepared for that. 😬
It might be nice to escape winter in California for once. I would love to visit in April or so for the Superbloom. Take care
Some of these desert superblooms kick off in March or even earlier if you really want to escape winter 😉
Nice to see you still having these Adventures. I was unsure of how long you would keep going because of crawler
Thank you so much! I’m actually really behind on vids - this adventure was in September-October 2022. I just hated logging into YT for the longest time because of the masses of horrible comments and messages I could count on receiving from the cult of crawler, but I’ve got probably 40+ more to put out. I’m still adventuring, just in a different way, and luckily I’ve got a passport and speak other languages so there’s still a LOT of Earth to explore.. and I am here for it! 😄
Beautiful desolation. I've been out there and it IS a quiet place. Dig it
I think the 20ish miles on dirt to get to KCL definitely helps to keep the population down.. except maybe during super bloom season 😬😆 I just loved it out there! 😍😄
My backyard! Glad to see a video from you. Happy trails!
Thank you so much! Finding free places that actually offer peace and quiet in California is always a fun challenge! 😉😁
My wife and I camped there on our honeymoon, May 2003. We loved it, need to get back there sometime soon! Thanks for the video!
That’s so awesome - what an amazing place to start your lives together!! 💖
Another nice video. It is an incredible forest. Happy Thanksgiving. Good Luck, Rick
Thanks, Rick - I hope you and yours have had a fantastic Thanksgiving!
Loved this video ❤
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😄🇪🇨
Wow 😮 ❤
I have been up and down the Oregon coast many times. Enjoy the great spots to see the ocean and wild life.
Thank you! That coast never gets old.. 😍 Hopefully some day I’ll be able to hike the OCT 🙏🏼
Nice looking place. The moon can give some great night pics....have fun hike safe....
Thank you! I just got back from a lil adventure and spent my insomniac hours playing with the night photography options on the phone.. I love me a big ol’ moon, but dark skies show all the stars! 🤩
Wow that is a beautiful place. I hope you are stress free and happy.
Thank you! Just got back from a much-needed mini-adventure and this is def the most stress-free T Day I’m going to have had in a looooong time (mainly because I am not in charge of the bird 😆) Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!! 🦃
I’m so sorry you lost so much, not just being harassed by some of his followers, your life completely changed, you are leaving in fear, I really hope things get better for you and you are able to get back to do the things you love without fear.
Thank you so much.. I really appreciate you 🙏🏼
Nice video. That's about the same price as the caverns in the Shenandoah Valley. Good Luck, Rick
I haven’t been to those.. gonna have to put them on my list! Thanks Rick 🤗
Good to see you're still out there adventuring! Interesting video, too!
Thanks Lyn! These vids are actually from last year - I am so behind. But I’m getting out as much as I can and trying to cash up for the next loooooong adventure I’m planning. I can’t wait!! 😄
I joined the Elks for similar reasons. And, I have a v basic Thousand Trails membership when I need more days away from rv disbursed/dry camping. Do Moose & Elk get along 🤷♂️
I’ve never seen them in a room together so I don’t know! 😒🤔😆
Focus on finding your peace. Replace him with your peace and you will never again continue to make these videos. Forgive for your peace of mind. Not him, but for you. Take the steps to stand up, go hike, stop being intimidated, he’s weak, see that? Be a Warrior. Use your head. Stay off social media. 😊
Most of the process of restoring my physical health has been reconnecting with myself and my inner peace, which has been one of the unexpected ‘gifts’ to come from all this. I actually do forgive him; I understand his motivations, and all I can say is that he is on a path with which I am unfamiliar. However, forgiveness does not preclude one from the natural, reasonable consequences of one’s choices and behavior, so to that end, I am firmly committed to ensuring that those consequences occur. I've already seen how the lack of any has emboldened violative behavior. Unfortunately, reclaiming my identity, my face, and my name publicly was made a necessity, as they were all stolen from me publicly. Now that I’ve set the record straight, with the evidence, I can be done with the public aspect of this ordeal, unless there is a significant change in circumstances. I’ve got bigger fish to fry, and a pretty epic adventure to prep for. Thank you so much for your comments - I really appreciate it!! 💖
@@SuperClassyAdventures😊
You’re defending yourself and it’s not healthy. He’s full of shit. Walk away.
Walk away and hold your head high. That’s what you do. He is your past. Leave him there. Stop feeding his sickness. No contact. Stop giving him attention. You’re feeding his sickness.
Let me start off this response by saying UGH! I’ve been a fan of both your channels and saw most of the tit for tat videos (although I missed some of his that were taken down). I apologize ahead of time for any incoherent writing as I’m recovering from surgery and am still very much out of sorts. As a stepmother to a woman who was domestically abused, I understand WHY you have the need to bring more attention to domestic abuse and victim blaming. The piece of work we had to deal with, who I shall refer to as the manchild, was violent and probably would have killed her and the baby eventually in one of the cycles. We successfully got a restraining order for…4 years (?) with complete custody for the child. Yes, we used a lawyer. I applaud that you want to bring attention to DA, but is it worth it if by dredging up the past makes your current life worse? If you’re afraid of reinvigorating the fanboys and girls to come stalking again?? NC F’d up, big time. I AM a fan of his and enjoy his content and the personality I see online…buuuut, when you showed us the proof of his text messages a couple years ago I thought ah - that’s harassment. Pretty straight forward. Not cool. I hope he has learned what is appropriate from this entire experience. I have been watching NC’s new channel for this new CDT attempt content. I did not go back and watch any of his reposted videos, so I’m not sure if he mentions you in any of that content (protected party). What I CAN say is that he has NOT mentioned you once that I remember in the new videos - not even in passing. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Like you don’t even exist to him. (Which is good right?) If that’s the case, he is not in violation of the restraining order, with his channel anyway. Also proving that the stalkers are harassing you and your family/friends will be hard unless those videos are still up or if you have a better smoking gun kind of thing like an email from him telling people to do it. Some of this video comes across as bit over the top. Again I completely understand why you felt the need to bring attention to DA, but in the end, if its going to bring unwanted attention back into your life, its not worth it. Fight when you need to fight. Peace is underrated though.
Characterizing what has happened here as 'tit for tat' is misleading and grossly minimizing of the extreme one-sidedness of what actually has happened. If I am 'tit' and he is 'tat,' then the reality is that it has been tit for tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat, tit for a full clip of rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat-tatting, especially if you consider the carpet bomb of libelous comments that were left or approved over as many videos as possible to ensure the greatest number of eyes and ears were subject to 'tat.' Then tit. Keeping in mind that the 'tits' have been the truth, backed with evidence, and the tats have been deliberately and maliciously manufactured lies intended to create a suitable target for hatred and violence with my face and name, repeated ad nauseum. And as you can see from the representative sample of comments here, they worked on the weaker of minds, and have brought to light the fact that misogyny is not confined to just one person in the outdoor recreation space. I am very sorry to hear about the nightmare your stepdaughter experienced, and am glad she had you for support - social support has saved me through this ordeal. However, I fail to see any benefit to keeping my mouth shut that wouldn't be driven by selfishness. Evil operates in the dark, I have a light, and I will absolutely shine it where it's needed if it might help someone else, which was the primary intention of this video. How it lands is not really my concern. The message is what matters. I wish you all the best for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery from your surgery.
I wish you luck. But be mindful that you don't step over the line and open yourself up to a Civil Harassment restraining order that he could file against you. @@SuperClassyAdventures
@@LMicheleS Thank you very much - part of the reason it took as long as it did to post this was getting it cleared legally. This video covered everything, so unless there is a significant change in circumstances, there's no need for any future vids about it - anything that happens within the public record will simply be added to the Drive. I've already transitioned into a new path which is much more positive and exciting, and most of my time these days is spent doing that.
