Pottery | Making Dessert Bowls with an Elevated Foot
Переглядів 7 тис.6 місяців тому
I share my process of making ceramic footed bowls on the pottery wheel, from throwing to trimming. They’ve been a favourite of mine to make lately, such an enjoyable making process that’s part throwing and part sculpting. I’ve named them Nymphae coupes (more on that in the video). This is a different type of video than what I’ve shared before, let me know what you think. I really enjoyed making...

Super vlogs UA-camr 👍👍💯💯🙆
<3
been saving the last vid till a new one comes out and the place is coming along nicely. the tiled kitchenette looks so lovely with the raw sink. excited to see the space grow and fill with pieces the music is so calming in this one, all the best :)
Oh, sheer line curtains would be nice, too. Or maybe lower those lace panels so they don't look so skimpy :) And if you don't cut the vintage lace you can -use it to drape along the top :)
Wow ❤
❤️
All the best for your fresh start ❤❤

I loved this video! Welcome back! I hope you have a great journey in your beautiful new space ❤
Thank you so much 🫶🏼
nice ❤
Its so good to watch! Sending you the bestest of vibes on this new chapter of your life! <3
Thank you!! 🫶🏼
your editing and frmaing and ughh everything is soo good! thank u for documenting and sharing
☺️☺️ thank you!!
yay
The world as we know it will disappear if people just go online and purchase all-I-need-hauls. There is magic in slowing discovering what you need next and not buying all at once, and also in buying directly in person to someone, as you said not everything is online, from artists to makers to antique dealers. Your curtains are lovely. ❤
Yes! And the same applies to decorating / organizing the studio space - it needs slow discovering what you need next to become a genuine, functional and beautiful space ❤️
Love zelliges. I live in Marseille and have them in my bathroom ❤ love your choice of color
That would be the dream, to have them in my bathroom 😍
@@issey-roquet now I want them in my kitchen in yellow
@@MarianneInmarsilia I’ve seen pictures on Pinterest of spaces with them in yellow and they look soooo nice! I think they might’ve been kitchens, I can’t remember.
Vraiment bien fait <3
Kewl 😎
Lovely space ❤ What brought you to Valencia ?
Wanting a more Mediterranean lifestyle :)
This all looks wonderful. Respect for taking on this project 😊
Thank youuuu! 🫶🏼
if you need a direction to head in for more lacey curtain ideas, you should look up filet crochet :-) people are definitely still making stuff like that and you can even make it yourself with your own designs to specific dimensions
Ooooh 👀
Hi! Its a beautiful space. That red clay is very nice, what type/ brand of clay is?? Im also in Spain, so I want to buy it to test it. Thank you :)
Hola! It’s from Vicente Diez, they’re based out of Manises. It’s called Gres NT Rojo
thank you :)
@@mieles2.0 I’m testing the medium gres, they say it’s usable on the wheel, but it’s pretty rough on my fingers on the wheel after a while. It’s great for sculptural work, and trimming through it is really nice. But I’d recommend trying the fine gres if you’re hoping to use it on the wheel 😊
@@issey-roquet Thank you for the advice and the info ;)
looks great! and your ceramic pieces are beautiful 😍
Thank youuu 😘😘
Your studio is looking divine, Issey! You've done an amazing job and I love the lace curtains. I had a similar issue with "wondering eyes" from people passing by studio. I ended covering the windows and door with frosted vinyl, as to allow light in, .. but no peeping toms. 😋
Haha glad to hear I’m not the only one! 😊😊 And thank you so much! 🫶🏼
_It's a short one, but I hope you like it :)_
Beautiful! Consider putting the valence across the top of the windows, it's a stunning piece of lace.
Good idea!
Just a thought and to add to the comment above on the *valance… rather than cutting, wouldn’t you benefit using the full length of the fabric for extra gathering? This would double over in thickness too to afford you the ‘privacy’ you are after. The thinner the fabric the more transparent the less coverage, which is unavoidable with lace being such a sheer fabric to start with. But extra fabric promotes extra gathered thickness thus more opacity. Just a thought. bisous X
@@j_mapelle_nee that’s a great idea! Hadn’t thought of it! ☺️bisous
It looks beautiful! A true artist can see the potential. So jealous😆😆
Hi! I would like to know why do they have mirrors in the studio? what are they used for Love your videos ;)
It’s to protect your back from having to bend over to the side or backwards to see the profile of your piece. The mirror reflects at an angle so you can just gaze over at the reflection of the piece on the wheel while sitting straight. Over time it saves your back from being in uncomfortable positions for too long 😊
MARAVILHOSO!!!
thanks for sharing! i’ve never seen someone share such a small set up which gives me hope for myself. appreciate the time you took to document this! 🙏🏻
The title card at 00:56 has me OBSESSED, love love love love love it
☺️☺️
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences
😊😊
I just moved and my space I want to use is a limited space. Thanks for this timely video.
Glad it was helpful!
As a designer, I wholeheartedly approve of your tile choice!
The wall color reminds me of bisqueware ❤
I love that!! ❤️
I was sad that it took 6 days for this video to make it to my feed, then I realised I wasn't subscribed. Really shows how important that is. Anyway, I've been loving this series (I've been living vicariously through you as I dream of my future studio). The studio people see on instagram is a corner of my livingroom lol. @thevictoriagallery
Yet the olive green was indeed delicious. My pick of the bunch (I must be going through my “green phase” of my life à la Picasso ‘Blue Phase’ but vert). But your final pick of the Boudreaux burgundy certainly is divine in its own right! For your space, however, the green and even that off-white tile appealed to me the most, personally anyway. But who am I to contradict?! Either way I think your studio will be oh soooo cuutteee, Issey!! The lime plaster is top notch, magnifique 👌🏾 I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your episodes ✨🩵🤍 ‘spechly numéro trois (oui, oui, I am French speaking too. But Congolese born Aussie bred, formerly Belgium Democratic of Congo).
I think you’re onto something with the green though. I’ve been thinking of painting the washroom door green, and maybe even the entire inside of the washroom? I’m not entirely sure yet, I’ll have to sit on it for a while. I’ll probably talk more about it in the next video! Et merci pour les commentaires trop gentils, ça fait trop plaisir 🥰🥰
Wow, it’s looking really good. It seems that you clearly know your style and how you want everything. I’m really keen on your decisions, and I can’t wait to finally go and have a look. ✨✨
Thank you!! 😊✨✨ It’ll probably be ready for September!
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing❤
As a person who is also in the process of designing a home, thank you so much for sharing your ideas, reasoning and process. 💛 I was wondering if you checked the New Terracotta tiles? They’re a Portuguese company and they have a huge variety of shapes and colors, and some of their finishings seem to be in line with the creative direction of your space. They can also do custom tiles. Excited to see how your studio is going to look like when it’s done!
Thank you for the Portuguese tile recommendation! Will check it out 😊😊
@@issey-roquet Happy to help! 😊
Trop joli ! Ça va devenir un endroit super chaleureux, agréable et doux, génial !!
Mercii! 😊😊
I can't express the excitement I have watching this all come togetherrrrr!!!! 𝓘𝓣'𝓢 𝓜𝓐𝓖𝓘𝓒𝓐𝓛 ☺

living for every update :)
Yayy ☺️☺️
love the handmade tiles you went with! my fave was the dull red you didn't like the sheen of and i feel like the handmade one has the color but gives the shine you wanted. :-) the outdoor space... so nice. this space is turning out very thoughtful.
Thank you!!
Oh wow, I love the colour of the walls. You made a good choice in bringing the tone down a little, and great application. Fantastic job all around. Can't wait to see more of your videos.
Thank you!! 😊
I'm in love with this series and I can't wait to see it finished. You have such good taste! 🖤
Thank you!! 🥰🥰
I really love the approach you’re taking with renovating your studio! It feels very authentic especially with using old and natural materials/techniques like the lime plaster that feel very aligned with the history and the purpose of the space. It’s turning out really beautifully💕💕
Thank you!! Glad to hear it makes sense to more than just me 😊💖
I love love love this series!!! I just graduated from the Royal College of Art in London and am thinking about moving to Barcelona- a studio makeover like this would be the absolute dream 😍😍
Congrats on graduating! Barcelona is such a cool city 😊
Love this series of Reno ! ☺️ team green tiles btw!! This olive green is really « sheer », really pretty ! it’ll bring a bit of contrast amongst all the warm color of the studio !
Thank you!! Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! 😊😊 And totally agree with you. I think I have to start resisting going too tone on tone 😅
I believe Lime plaster is also breathable so you get less problems with damp / mold/ water getting trapped.
Love this!
I wanna skip to the end of this series so BADLY 😩the whole space is coming together so nicely and im hecking excited to see you work in it! ... AND I NEED TO SEE THIS KILN
Hahaha 😂 I can’t wait to see this kiln too!
Love IT! following eagerly issey.
Yayy! Thanks Lorcan!! 😘
The bricks and the lime plaster look really beautiful! The warmth is really lovely.
