What kind shirt is that
No gloves! Not smart to teach people.
Good idea keeping the stencil in place when applying rub n buff
Is it backwards??
Hello ma'am Kaya bang print Yan NG Epson l3110
How long does the run and buff stay on with regular use?
This would look good with any colors
Quick question. Is there a way to seal the rubbing buff on the glass or does the glass not need to be sealed?
thankyou!!!!!!!!!
How do I transfer the vinyl
Heat press
How do I make the heat transfer vinyl
Beautiful!! Where do you get the design? I would like to recreate for my nephew’s upcoming wedding. ☺️
hi! thanks, I believe I got that from Cricut Images.. you can search mr and mrs and there's many nice options- just be sure its not too thin for the process
How did you get them the letters to print so big?
hi! These letters were cut with a cut machine, so in the design I measured it out to the size I wanted and then cut the vinyl with the cutting machine.
What size you make it
Wow!!! Thanks!!
Thank you for showing us the can! Everyone else just leaves us guessing like we all should no what it is. Much appreciated ❤
Why's the text backwards? Did she flip the video?
She forgot to mirror before she cut it.
Looks like it’s the video that isn’t flipped if you look at the Cricut.
she flipped it when she didn’t need to lol
Does it automatically seal? Or do you use something to seal it like a mod podge or sealant spray?
The resulting letters looks more like a silver Sharpie than an etching.
We added a step and used rub and buff to enhance the etch.
When using Armour Etch, please use plastic (not latex, not vinyl, thick plastic/rubber) gloves. That stuff is no joke and can burn through your skin, muscle tissue, and even seep into your bones. It is an extremely dangerous product that needs to be handle with care.
I've been etching with Armour Etch for 25 yrs. LOVE IT. I put a good even heavy coat on, wait a few minutes and wash off with warm/ hot water then clean as usually. I've left it on a few minutes to an hour. NO difference in shade. I always lay my glasses down to help make sure no shadow. I have left it on my arm for an hour and NO issues. My kids wanted to help mom and now my grandson so I've repeated that and again no issues. But everyone is different.
Are these hand wash or dishwasher safe? Thanks
Um so at some point I would like to try this but in the meantime…how did you make your “ glass holder”? Just 2 pool noodles elasticized together?
Yep! I cut one noodle down to two parts and size as I needed. Some also cut them in half to get a flat side and glue it to a clipboard
@@itssojohnsondesign2626 great idea. Thanks for the quick reply and the very easy tutorial…going to try it once I do other projects on my list!
I etched some glasses couple weeks a go but I can barely see the design, can I still add some rub’n buff?
@@catherinzarate yes. It should on the designed areas.
After applying the rub & buff, how long do we let it sit before whipping the excess off?
Hi I am new to circuit 😊what products do I buy in order to do my etching I normally just buy the reusables from hobby lobby but want something different
Would you be able to share the best font size to use for different sizes of champagne and wine glasses?
Size would depending on the whole design and the shape/size of the cups I use a measure tape to check the area and gage my design from there. And always do a test cut
Thank you so much I will be doing this for my tree but no one will tell me what was used I try glue and it was bad Much appreciated 🎉
Thank you for the video. I am no expert but when you rotated your image (logo) it was not quite 90 degrees. If you hold down the shift key when rotating it with your mouse, it will snap in 45 degree increments. This makes is very easy to rotate an image 90 degrees. Again thank you for the nice video and explanations.
How long does it take to dry
How does the rub and buff hold up in the oven. I want to do casserole dishes
Great video! thank you for sharing!!! cant wait to see more!!!
What font did you use?
The Wifey and Hubby was actually found on Cricut images.. here is the image number if you'd like to find it #M1D75ACEC and #M1D75A9BA. I cropped the bottom off and added the full wedding date.
How long do you have to leave the etching cream for it to set properly? I've failed miserably doing this, maybe I didn't do it right and I want to succeed the 2nd time around. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
I leave it for a few minutes.. maybe 5 or so... what you can do is when you remove the etch cream dont remove your stencil vinyl yet. give it a wash and then dry it and you can see if it etched enough for you... a good way to know is once you wipe it dry look from the other side of the cup and you should see a "foggy" effect on the parts you etched. Hope this helps!
@@itssojohnsondesign2626 Thank you.
I leave mine a minimum 20mins
Thank you you explained it very well I just etch a casserole pan and it looked light to me so I will try and put the rub and buff
Do you ever have residue from the vinyl? If so whats the best way to remove it
Using removable vinyl helps alot with residue. And much easier to remove. If there is any you can wash it and itll come off well.
Remember to keep the design lower than where your mouth will be touching the glass. Rub N Buff isn't food grade or food safe. You do not want that stuff anywhere near your mouth!
Very cre8ive!!! Keep up the gd work...til next tyme...keep those cre8ive juices abrewing!!!
Finally, someone who uses a float tube to hold their glass or cups. I glued mine down the middle.
These look nice. Why don’t you use painters tape around stencil so that no etch cream accidentally gets on the other areas of glass?
You can definitely do that. Or the vinyl is fine if you give yourself enough room from the design to the edges
That is so cool!
You don't need anywhere near that amount of rub'n'buff for something that size. Depending how often you use the stuff, with that amount you will burn through a tube fairly quick, which will start to get a little costly. Just the first blob you put on the "Hubby" glass should be plenty. The stuff goes a very very long way.
Thank You,! This was very helpful....
Quick question have you done this on casserole dishes? If so does it hold up in the oven and multiple washes? Please do share or anyone who’s tried this thank you in advance
Gorgeous 😍
Hello, I absolutely love your glasses. great video. thank you.
Thanks for the video! I saw some people used mod podge to protect the design when its being washed. Could we still add that after the rub and buff or will it mess the design up?
Sure. You can try it. I never have used that method.
@@itssojohnsondesign2626 thanks!
What do you put on the cup after the rub and buff so it doesn’t come off
We leave it as is.
Thank-you so much! Everyone was using the rub and buff from behind a glass plate. I'm doing this etching and rub and buff on the front of a glass bottle that won't be washed, just dusted if need me. Love the tip about the silver vs. gold! Following you know for more tips!!!
So glad this was helpful! Let us know what else youd love to see!
Can you seal it for dishwasher
Thanks so much. This has been very informative
Do we have to use rub n buff?
There are vinyls that can be used to give off the etched look.
You don’t have to, rub and buff is just to make the letters more vibrant
Thank you for sharing also I’m going to try the Vaseline on the inside of the cup to help less work at the the end 😊
