Those things cost a lot of money. Most have two hydro pump/motor assy's, and are harder to service than conventional riders. No thanks, I'll just keep buying someone else's junk and repairing them, for a fraction of the cost of a "Z" rider.

Wait wait wait... steering wheel ztr are not for beginners that have no experience with lap bar style..the purpose of the steering wheel ztr are for hill or sloping cuts..like if I have land with alot of hills and slopes I'm better off with steering wheel than I am with lap bar.. because of its duel transmission or it's positive cut on hills it dosnt create turf tear opposed to a lap bar which only has rear positive traction control and will cause you to destroy your grass ...this is the real reason for steering wheel ztr..not because it's for beginners hahaha..

I’ve got a front deck Grasshopper and this is my 8th season with this mower. Have not had any issues to-date.

I've never ran a front mount yet, but actually looking at buying a grasshopper this weekend possibly, so I'm excited 😁 lol

Just put over 30 hours on a SZ26-52. Only complaint is the deck height pin, it will fall out if you hit a bump. Replaced it with a hitch pin. Blades are hard to come by. Local dealer replaced the stock ones with Oregon/Toro 94-059 for some reason? The originals were 18" and these 94-059 are 17.5". Not very happy with that choice as it will leave a strip of uncut grass between the blades as they wear. Going back to a stock blades. I typically sharpen/replace blades after 15 hours.

I just purchased a 900 1.3L 72 inch Grasshopper, after demoing four different brands, all cut pretty good, but the Grasshopper was just a lot better I felt. The cut was great ride very smooth I think do to long wheel base.

I think the main disadvantage of a front mounted deck is that the heavy deck, outside the wheel base of the machine, makes it difficult to control the placement of the deck, in tight places, because the inertia of all that weight, wants to keep it moving, during a sharp turn. If not careful, it can damage walls, plants, vehicles, and other common obstacles. Other than that, yes to the advantages posted here.
