The Icom 7300 clearly does not belong here. But it does make a point. Listening to swl can be a gateway to becoming a ham. And these days ham HF radios are general coverage receivers with very good sensitivity and all sorts of notch filters and selectable bandwidths. But it needs a hefty power supply if you choose to transmit with it. That's gonna set you back about $200. You could use a smaller power supply like a 5 amp if your just going to receive with it. But I think it's ridiculous to spend $1000 on a sw radio that only receives.

Interested in the brand's reputation, I bought a Denon AVR 660H last year, which was fully satisfying, until the day it fell in autoprotection, after 4 months. I tried all the suggested troubleshootings, i even re-wired my entire installation, but nothing worked. I was able to determine on Internet that it is common issue with Denon. I had NO HELP from Denon, just bad faith. I have now a useless Denon AV receiver in my Home. And $600 wasted. Iam reluctant to dispose of a new electronic product, but what could I do with it? I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN A DENON product. I just ordered the Yamaha RX-V385 B.
