"If someone slaps you" .. this teaching is highly misunderstood by people in general. The advice of offering the other cheek is for the sanyasi or the monk who has abandoned all forms of actions. But people start thinking this advice is for everyone. The real advice is if someone slaps you, you respond according to your dharma by staying detached to the action and situation. So this ways one might offer the other cheek and other might punch him back in the gut, both are fine and realistic. Also will not create any karma as you are detached to the action. This is the highest teaching of Bhagwad gita known as Nishkam Karmyoga.

Bish Slap the negative karma away from them as well. It'll remind them to think before they act.

One up man ship game
What 'simplicity'. It's not simple at all. Especially when you are living with that 'accumulating karma' point of view.
@@josurejo you are right! We weren’t mindful of the fact that once we put in UA-cam the audience is diverse. It was first Aired here in Bhutan, and in Bhutan we are raised with concepts and the philosophy of karma; but as we grow we forget; so for us the use of the word simple was … like a reminder. Sorry! We will be more mindful of our captions. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
the way of the bodhisattva is not easy,I guess one needs to be wise, compassionate and fearless at the same time:a beautiful warrior.
I guess the answer is if someone hits you, to feel compassion for their ignorance and try to communicate this through the eyes
So what do you do.. say stop? That usually evokes more anger
No protesting wrong doings doesn't mean evoking anger within you
Buddhists people god is karma, They all blame karma karma karma karma karma, Everything what’s happening is now is the decision u make in the past, there's so many multiverse that's only happening now, Time and space is an illusion because present moment only exist, so karma is another word for christian god, so if something bad happens then depending to their Religous beliefs system then they can blame to white beard god on the sky or to karma, Because people like to blame something or to someone because most people dont want to take responsibility to their life and too lazy, because change requires lot of growth and effort, and people just want in easy mode There’s no love light and peace in the universe. Everyone is fighting for control, example is the government and illuminati controlling this planet earth All religions are made by the government to control the masses Yes, religions have truths on it but still misinformation, and people believe in it to their whole life and get stuck, tha'ts why they're too limited and not open-minded and too fearful If u have fear, then u can easily be manipulated by tyrants and oppressor
Hmm but how to stop the person is the real question.
Protest 3 times like Buddha, Even after protesting and forgiving 3 times, if he slaps again, Rise without getting angry like a Bodhisattva and Give them the slap in return, Be a Bodhisattva not coward, Your kindness should not be your weakness

There is another reason I am touched by his honesty and I find it very important... I worked for another Tibetan Buddhist organisation for many years, the Lama in this group abused his students and distorted the teachings to protect himself. But because everyone had to see him as a Buddha and all his actions as those of an enlightened being, to protect the Samaya, he never had to take accountability for his behaviour and his students continued to cover up for him. I was so saddened for him and for the group that he could not own his own behaviour, even when he died, as his actions went against the teachings, it was a betrayal of the teachings and of all the work his students had put in, and for a while I lost faith in the teachings and practices. I think it can be dangerous when the Lama starts to believe that he is an enlightened being that can do no wrong and is not able to reflect on his own behaviours or motivations. It would seem that to fully practice the teachings means we hold ourselves accountable, practise honesty and transparency and bring the awareness to our own behaviour so we can aim act in alignment with the teachings with integrity, this means acknowledging when our motivations are not so pure. But we are human, so to admit to our errors shows great humility and it restores my faith in the teachings to hear Rinpoche admit to the errors in this way. He is an example to us all.
@@jacquedaw we agree with you completely as the Buddha himself is credited to have said to analyse him and his teachings, we should take that as a guiding principle and practice as well as question. May you be blessed with true teachers and truth. Tashi Delek 🪷
YES HE IS ALWAYS WITH ME AND MY LOVED ONES HE PROTECTING US HE GUIDING US AM REALLY FEEL BLESSED AM THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL FOR EACH BLESSING I HAVE THANK YOU GURU RINPOCHE❤🙏 OM AH HUNG BENZA GURU PEMA SIDHI HUNG🙏🌈🙏
Thank you so much for saying you hurt and killed animals when you were young, I did things I regret out of ignorance too, I was shamed for being soft and sensitive and taught to be hard and unfeeling. But as I woke up and realised the suffering I caused it caused me so much pain and blockage in my practice. I also thought that maybe I was beyond redemption and that the teachings were not for me and that if people knew they would scorn and reject me. Hearing the compassion and honesty in his voice, the kindness in letting us know about the obstacles we cause ourselves in these actions, but also that I still feel that I am worthy of compassion was very healing. I find so many westerners in the Buddhist world do not admit their shadow aspects and then they bypass and shame and judge others, Yangsi is very psychologically healthy in his straightforward honesty and integrity of his actions, that he is not perfect, but he can own where he has gone wrong. He is a teacher for us messed up Westerners and I admire his bravery and lack of concern for how others will judge him. I can see that his motivation is to help us. Many thanks. However it is very hard to hear that we will have karma for killing insects, it is impossible not to kill insects or animals. Walking in the dark I step on snails and kill them, I feel sorry but i cannot avoid it. in the shower insects fly into the water and drown. I already feel guilty a lot of the time and it feels overwhelming that this is adding to my karma.
@@jacquedaw we offered to edit or maybe if Rinpoche would like to rephrase and he insisted that it be kept the way he expressed it. We thought our intentions were good to edit but we now know he saw further than we did 🙏
What I understood about Karma from my spiritual master is that something done out of ignorance can be forgiven but we need to purify it. We need to develop our own Buddha nature which is within us since beginning less time; Buddha nature is not something outside us, its within us and our root spiritual master shows us us the mirror of our own true nature of mind! In all karma is everywhere and it’s out of our control; we can just create and pray for good causes and conditions for good outcome! Meeting your root guru is the greatest of all the blessings in form of positive karma 🙏🙏
