Allying with the UC will not help you in the end game. Instead, I always ally with the anti-slavers and I will destroy the UC to gain a lot of fighting XP for my guys. If you want to settle in Stobes's Gamble or any region close to Ashland in your end game, Anti-slavers is a better choice. They will send reinforcement to follow your guys to protect them in the closeby regions. The reason they attack you is because you allied with the UC.

Camp fire does not provide "real" light in the game. as you can see from your guy's darkened sun next to the blue eye thing. If there is actually light, the sun next to the stealth eye thing will turn bright.

We are planning to capture two mega crabs and use them as dummies to train our crossbow and dexterity. You need to fight all the big three nations to gain combat xp faster. Fighting with lower level enemies only gives you very little xp. Fighting with the samurai gate guards and samurai elites is the best way and fastest way to level up combat xp. In my last playthrough Soto's combat jumped from 56 to 65 in just two weeks after we wiped out the UC. In my current playthrough, we captured two broken lvl 50 skeletons from Deadlands on Day 4x and started training with them. We are all around 50 to 70 in combat after wiping out HN. It is day 110. We will wipe out the UC soon. Most people will use some "training dummies" to gain xp faster and fighting with high level guys like Samurai Elites is necessary. I will call them mk4 and mk5 dummies. Some people will use leviathans to train crossbow and dexterity. Crabs are actually lovely animals in Kenshi. If you ally with the Crab Raiders, you can buy crabs from them. And all the wild crabs will ally with you too. You can pick them up and put them in your base. LOL

So, there is good acid rain in Sonorous Dark. Good to know. You can build a base and grow crops on the top of a base using hydroponic and acid rain water automatically without getting water from anywhere. I tried this in the Unwanted Zone. Does it have wind in Sonorous Dark though? Change your armor before you go stealth. That crab armor is one of the worst for stealth. One of your guys has 3(-59) stealth meaning that everyone will see him, even though he is in stealth mode. Even 100 stealth with no penalty will be seen sometimes.

I did not finish my last playthrough because with a team of 208, it is way too easy on day 204. I started my new run restricting myself to 30 recruits including animals. My assassin is lvl 80+ and 100 with ninja rag on Day 30. You need to make or steal ninja rag to push your guy's stealth to be 100. But even with 100 stealth, your guy will sometimes fail. My faction is called K9 Ninjas. I will train all of them, including bonedogs, to 100 stealth in less than 100 days. Bonedogs have a 20 boost in stealth naturally. It is actually pretty easy to mass train them in stealth. You only need to have an open outpost allowing a lot of enemy raids. When enemies are KOed, some of them will wake up. When you have a bunch of guys hauling and following the one who are hauling things, they will get stealth xp if they are in stealth mod while your enemies are waking up. Stealth has something to do with your enemies being aggroed. Some people will use a glitch by going near a blood spider valley and just move around to get stealth xp. But that's really cheap. I'd rather do it the natural way by using an open outpost.

Ashland has Dome 1, 2, 3, and 4. You need to kill Mad Cat-lon to finish the game. I have been preparing for this for my entire playthrough. I don't just want to kill Cat-lon. I will build a settlement there. In fact, after Ashland (which is the most difficult part of the game), I will build a couple more settlement outposts in the NE, NW, and the SW to finish the game. I now have 190 crew members, including about 130 recruited characters and 50 animals. My target is 200. I will eventually l have 10 active settlement outposts after wiping out the Shek Kingdom. My ultimate goal of this playthrough is to save the entire world of Kenshi and make all drifters great productive warriors. We have already ended sexism. We will end slavery, feudalism, racism, hunger, poverty, and sadness in the Kenshi world.

The only way to buy crabs and get the crab armor recipes is to become an ally of the Crab Raiders. They are a bunch of friendly fellows. After we cleared the Ark and captured Alamon as one of our training dummies (the other big training dummy is Eyegore who we captured during the Eyegore assault before Day 150 or so) on Day 180 or so, Crab Raiders took over the Ark. We built one of our many outposts there to get ready to wipe out the skeleton bandits, skin bandits, the Southern Hive, and finally Cat-lon and Ashland. That will be around Day 250. It is Day 207 right now. But the first thing is to wipe out the UC which we failed before Day 150 because of the Eyegore assault while we were invading Stoat. Now, we are much stronger.

Arach is very safe during the day because you can always outrun those skin spiders. And my archers can take them all down. But travelling during the night in Arach is horrible. We went there on Day 50 so to go to the SW to raid some labs for AI cores. We encountered 10 skin spiders that were right on our path. So, I just clicked some points on the map to try to stay away from them. Then the pathfinder led us to a horde of 20 going downhill with a very narrow passage. I didn't see them cause I was checked those that were chasing us from behind. I had to reload the game which I very rarely do. I just didn't want to see my entire crew being eaten alive by the skin spiders. Pathfinding sucks in the game. In fact, the developers PURPOSELY set traps alone your path if you use the pathfinder.

In my last playthrough, we captured more than 20 broken ones and used them to defeat the Wrath of God on Day 100. We equipped them with all specialist grade armor and edge 1/2 falling suns. These skeletons aren't very strong. But we would be outnumbered by the Paladins and Inquisitors, so they kind of help out a little bit. We even captured Phoenix and brought him to the Black Desert City so that those paladins were all wounded by the acid rain during the Wrath of God. Plus those skeleton guards helped us out to kill all the Paladins and Inquisitors. This game is so much fun allowing players to be very creative.

Fighting beak things doesn't really give your guys that much fighting xp. You need to capture some high level guys like Hundred guardians, inquisitors, Seta, Phoenix, Eyegore, .. and use them as your training dummies. We now have 5 lvl 50+ and 30 lvl 40+ guys. But we have over 100 archers, so we do not rely too much on fighting. The only reason we train them fighting is to prepare for our end game in Ashland. Even 100 archers cannot handle 120 robots at the same time. I bought this game in July this year. I am good at min-maxing, but I haven't even visited the Southern Hive or Ashland before, even though I already have 2000 hours in this game. We won't just capture Catlon. Our goal is to build a settlement in Ashland.

Crab raiders are good people who will help you in the end game. I bought their crab armor recipe and 4 crabs to defend one of our many outposts in Black Scratch. I will buy 12 more crabs to make a crab army. They are good for defense and will free up many of my guys for the final fight with Catlon. We are on Day 184. We just captured Eyegore during the Eyegore assault in Stoat and will use him as our training dummy before we hit the Ark. Then will be join the Anti-slavers before we wipe out United Cities.

Your channel is the only channel that has all the information I need about all the different areas in Kenshi. About half of our crew is moving southeast to prepare for our mission in Southern Hive and then Ashland. We just wiped out Brink and Black Dog HQ. We built a hydroponic outpost south of Black Scratch. We will build another outpospt in Unwanted Zone for our large group of archers to level up their crossbow skill and dexterity. I brought about 35 of our archers with us in this mission to get 3 AI cores in Spider Factory, to colonize the South, to get the crab armor recipe, to buy some crabs, to join the Anti-slavers, and then to wipe out the slave traders and the United Cities. After Ashland, we will go North East to wipe out the cannibals and shrieking bandits. Then we will end this game by destroying the Shek kingdom. What will the Kenshi world become when all three big nations are gone? That's the question.

You need to train your guys in lockpicking, stealth, .. very early on in this game. Otherwise, you will have to waste a lot of time picking locks, ... The best way to train lock picking in a normal run is to send your guys to a police station. Lock themselves up and start picking locks. Make sure the lock is below 30. Or they will not be able to open it. This game is about training, producing, tech tree, .. if you have a large crew and not that much about exploring and fighting. You can kidnap high level enemies and use them as training dummies to level up fighting xp easily. But making masterwork armor and crossbows and edge 2 weapons takes a lot of time because training smiths to lvl 80 takes more than 30 days. Players playing with a small crew do not understand this. They often babysit one or a couple of characters by cheating and cheesing. The best part of this game is about understand and changing the world of Kenshi. You can change the world of Kenshi by changing the world state, say by wiping out the United Cities or the Holy Nation. In my current run, I wiped out the Holy Nation and our ally Flotsam Ninjas took over Blister Hill. We have one of our many outposts in Blister Hill. So, now we can buy and sell things there. And this is a Rebirth state. Our two characters destroyed Rebirth in 7 days.

87 toughness is very strong. You can't get 100% stealth KO during the day even if you have 100 assassination with assassin rag. Stealth KO works best at night. I have two assassins with 80+ stealth and 80+ assassination. When they wear assassin rags, they will be lvl 100 assassination AND stealth. Still, they will not be able to stealth KO Phoenix with a 100 % chance during the day. So, there will be chances that they will be discovered and hit badly.

Hey @kascade *SPOILER ALERT* Im a bit further than you got, i dont want to spoil it BUT click the picture on the wall on the right at the bottom of the stairs, will open that "secret" door. The valves you pickup go in the end room through that door, activate to drain the bath and then THATS where im stuck. Cant seem to find anything in the bath, and havent figured out how to flush the toilet, if you can at all. Ive also run outta batteries so cant see a thing either haha

It's a pain when no mini tutorial even, I do think the little blue thing you picked up may be a battery for the taser? If you give it another go, maybe try R when you pick one up? Pill bottles seem like "health packs"?

6:23 for how to escape the starting room, thanks for this! I don't think you can even equip the key, I think you used the battery so the key was the only thing left in inventory. I now need to use my flashlight enough to use the battery. You can tell when a game wasn't play tested, like at all...

The crab village is non-hostile, unless you are already fighting with the crab raiders before going inside. And you can buy crabs there too, if you can beat all 4 crab tournaments. This is what I would try out in this playthrough.

The name "Kenshi" is a misnomer. Ken means a double-edged sword, definitely not a katana or a saber. "Kenshi" means a swordman who uses a double-edged sword. A katana is a "Do" as in meido meaning a "famous single-edged sword". BTW, you can recruit hungry bandits and dust bandits by healing them or releasing them from prisons without using any mods. Not everyone of them is bad. And you will see more of the game by healing all your enemies.
