Love the intro theme by Holt.
Not much difference between what the priests/monks did to these "witches" and the ss brutality in the camps.....They both enjoyed it. A very interesting old bit of historical film thanks for posting.
Great movie! Thank-you for posting it.
Thanks!
Who is the soundtrack by?
Another user has stated that this soundtrack is by Matti Bye which is included on the forthcoming Radiance Blu ray.
@@thammut1892awesome! Thank u for uploading this video!
I was literally on the edge of my seat watching this the entire time, mesmerized by the message from over a hundred years ago. All the way to the end before it said "Slut" and then I ended up laughing so hard I got the hiccups. I know that's how you say the end in that language, but still.
I have had dreams of this when I was a child. We never had a television or seen a movie until after dreams had stopped. I truly believe the Egyptians were in a deep cryo sleep in space. I traveled many times out of ship then returned to sleep. One day we will see when we understand that all the pyramids and copper n gold used was them trying to signal another ship about their crash landing here on earth. Then one day they were rescued. Those who died here have rejuvenated here again and again. There was no room for the dead even tho they knew that one’s left behind would suffer this fate. That one day they promised to come recoup their dead and reunite them with their original peoples❤
Except the fact that they depict events that happened in the mid-16th/17th century as ‘medieval’... it is truly a very advanced film for that era.
Häxan : Witchcraft Through the Ages (1922) - Copyright blocked, use a VPN in some areas. 0921am 26.10.24 Apologies! prior to you tube becoming rancid and full tot eh brim of uselessness... you tube used to provide a service, wherein you could see antiquated and interesting movies - for nothing!!! the service may still exist but i'll be damned if i can locate the interesting aspects of you tube. i will watch this now... it's been nagging me as a must see film for some time. the guys who make pop music for a specific popular kultur music group have brought me here to sate my supressed interest.... a silent movie!!? i can handle them.... not so much the lunatics, though... do i thank you for uploading?
I'm 71, too. My Grandma let me watch it-there were bits when I hid behind her sofa.
There weren't copyrights in 1922
The characters in this movie are the ancestors of the idiots who spend their lives on Zerohedge.
Can’t understand many of the comments…I didn’t find it especially frightening and enjoyed the music from Holsts “The Planets.” (I’m 70) As for “ back in the days when the BBC made programs worth watching” 😂😂 Talk about living in the past !
Poor quality visuals. Filmed in a fog

It gave me a giggle, and thought it would work.
My brother and I watched from a safe position, behind the sofa, all ready to dive for cover.
What are Royal Engineers doing running RADAR.
What beautiful costumes on the young women
The Landrover is motoring down the road but who walks past and leaves a shadow on the screen at 04:19 ?
Love these classics worth a watch
Perhaps this should be redone in the original B&W format, using the original script?
An update on all the Quatermass stories could be amazing, or could go terribly as ever they seem to these days. It is a good idea though.
The L Inferno/Haxan double feature has a soundtrack similar to this. It's very creepy!
I well remember this programme when first on the T.V. in 1953 on a Saturday evening. Ìts a pity the last 4 episodes are lost ,as this in its time was a heap better than today's drama with shooting stabbing and foul language. Thanks for having this on UA-cam 😂😂
This is my favorite work of his..
Perfect chilling soundtrack for this horror documentary on Witchcraft Try watching it in a purely dark environment!! 1:21:00...scariest segment in my opinion 😨😨 Great film!!!
This is so refreshing compared to what media is classed as now. Love it
A great occult history documentary, along with Dark spellbinding imagery. just like night on bald mountain.
the soundtrack for this version is definitely the best out of them all for sure
A couple years back, on UA-cam, I watched the 2 episodes of "The Quatermass Experiment", and then, for whatever reason, "Quatermass and the Pit", followed by the Hammer version of that. Blew my mind. Over 3 hours long, and it NEVER got boring. Nigel Kneale was clearly a FAR-better writer than most of the ones they had doing DOCTOR WHO! (Nearly every 6-parter on that got boring at some point.) But then to see Kneale CUT nearly 2 hours from "Pit" for the Hammer screenplay-- and it STILL MADE SENSE! Wow. He was something else. Hammer's QUATERMASS AND THE PIT has to be one of the best films they ever did. I'd somehow never seen either version of "Quatermass II", but I decided to do so now. (I imagine the Hammer version will be disappointing compared to this, but, who knows?) I've always read that the opening scenes of DOCTOR WHO's "Spearhead From Space" borrowed from this. It's a bit fuzzy, but, right off the start, I recognized Hugh Griffith and John Stone (I'd seen the latter on THE AVENGERS). John Robinson's voice sounds awful familiar, but I may be confusing him with someone else. The cliffhanger at the end of part 1 sure reminds me of... ALIEN. Heh heh heh. (That movie "borrowed" from as many different sources as STAR WARS did.)
Just happened to come across this film at random and oh boy I'm glad I did! Absolutely brilliant would recommend anyone to watch it's so interesting and unique made so well. Definitely a must watch. 👌 ❤
Big thanx for sharing this amazing movie 🙏! Greetings 🖖👽
Best soundtrack I’ve heard for this movie
Which soundtrack is this? It suits the film so well. Radiance in the UK are releasing this to Blu ray with a number of soundtracks. I was hoping this would be one of them 🤞 Edit: Another user has stated that this soundtrack is by Matti Bye which is included on the forthcoming Radiance Blu ray.

welcome year zero!!
SULKY TIT
I remember seeing this in the 70s! It was one of my favorite films, I really enjoyed how original it was. Thanks for posting this. It really brings back memories!
Glad you enjoyed it! I first watched this as a kid, being a sci-fi and hammer horror fan, this was of course very much my sort of thing too! Annoying thing is, i forgot the name of the film, so it took me a few years to find out what it was again so i could rewatch it.

Anyone else here after seeing Rite Here Rite Now? 👻
Yeah, me:D
Sure am!
Yesssss
Yep… here after seeing RHRN for the third time.
This stuff was so good during year zero I had to find if it were shots filmed for the movie or some old film, I love this!
That was one very bad movie. As a very old scifi fan, for me it wasnt a very well thought out plot.
Thanks!
Can you post it in the correct aspect ratio? The distortion makes your video unwatchable.
This was the best of what i could find sorry Richard.
From Indiana. I watched the pit when I was a kid and it scared the @#$& out of me. Clad to find this.
I've said before here, or should have done, the pit is my favourite too, though sadly could not get it on here. Sorry! Hope the others I have work as well for you.
