The Department of Psychiatry is one of the original departments in the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, which was founded in 1967. We are known for our focus on community-based mental health and a multidisciplinary approach to the medical/psychiatry interface. Our Department is leading the effort to comprehensively approach psychiatric disorders, prepare future clinicians, prevent psychiatric disorders, provide state-of-the-art care, and give direction to community efforts to improve behavioral health. We are enhancing behavioral health through scientific research, education, training, community leadership, and service.

Oh look at you and how knowledgable you are about how to control the way people live! SO VIRTUOUS! Rapid tapers are NEVER okay. They are traumatizing. "Needed to have a rapid taper of their benzodiazepines" because of their "opioid use disorder" my ass. You are disgusting. You're a absolutist. An extremist. Your way is poison. Drugging people up with potentially hazardous substances instead of just giving them a soft landing with the same drugs they've already been taking... (only applicable for pain patients, not for true addicts who should still be given a safe taper but not AS soft. The don't deserve that. They abuse drugs, pain patients use drugs responsibly.
