IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Changeover
Changing from Ascent to Descent or from Descent to Ascent is an essential basic technique in rope access and forms the basis of many other maneuvers. This video demonstrates how to changeover from ascent to descent and vice-versa.
This RIG video series covers exercises and skills required for both IRATA and SPRAT Level 1 certification. All techniques and exercises should be practiced under the supervision of a certified trainer.

IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Casualty Rescue
Переглядів 16 тис.2 роки тому
When rigging for rescue is not feasible, an intervention rescue may be considered in the rescue plan. This video will demonstrate various methods on how to rescue a casualty who is in ascent mode from an adjacent set of ropes. This RIG video series covers exercises and skills required for both IRATA and SPRAT Level 1 certification. All techniques and exercises should be practiced under the supe...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Large Re-Anchor
Переглядів 2,2 тис.2 роки тому
Large re-anchors can be offset by any distance and allow a rope access technician to move horizontally from one set of ropes to another for access, rope positioning, or hazard avoidance. This video will demonstrate how to negotiate a large re-anchor in ascent and descent for the IRATA 2/3 and SPRAT Level 1 rope access training certification. This RIG video series covers exercises and skills req...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Small Re-Anchor
Переглядів 1,7 тис.2 роки тому
A re-anchor (commonly called a re-belay) is a secondary set of anchors installed at any distance below the primary anchors. This video demonstrates how to pass a re-anchor offset by 1.5m in ascent and descent modes. This RIG video series covers exercises and skills required for both IRATA and SPRAT Level 1 certification. All techniques and exercises should be practiced under the supervision of ...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Passing Knots
Переглядів 4,5 тис.2 роки тому
Knots may be tied mid-rope, either to isolate minor damage or to join ropes of insufficient length. They complicate access egress and rescue and reduce the strength of the rope so it's not good practice to leave existing knots in place on working ropes. However, knots may be used as a temporary solution. This video will demonstrate how to pass mid-rope knots in both ascent and descent modes. Th...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Edge Obstructions
Переглядів 1,5 тис.2 роки тому
The edges of roofs, platforms, cliffs, cavities, and other drops may be unprotected or surrounded by edge protection such as guardrails or parapet walls. In many cases, the edge presents both an awkward obstruction for the Rope Access Technician and a contact hazard for the ropes. This video will demonstrate passing a top edge obstruction, where the anchor points are at or near 90-degree angles...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Deviations
Переглядів 1,7 тис.2 роки тому
A deviation is commonly used rope access for work positioning and changing the path of the rope to avoid abrasion or other potential causes of damage to the ropes. There are two types of deviations, a single and a double. This instructional video covers how to maneuver through both types of deviations, including an explanation of the two different types and their field applications. This RIG vi...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Using Backup Systems
Переглядів 1,9 тис.2 роки тому
Backup devices in rope access are used to attach to the backup rope to form the backup system. They must be maintained separately from the primary system and positioned as high as possible to minimize freewill distance in the unlikely event of failure of the primary system. In this video, we discuss the proper use and handling of two types of backup devices, the S-Tec Duck R and the Petzl ASAP ...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Using Descenders
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
The controlled descent of ropes is a core technique in rope access. Rope Access Technicians must be able to control their speed and stop as required. This video demonstrates attaching a descending device and a backup device to a set of pre-rigged ropes. This RIG video series covers exercises and skills required for both IRATA and SPRAT Level 1 certification. All techniques and exercises should ...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Rope to Rope Transfer
Переглядів 1,8 тис.2 роки тому
Horizontally movement while in suspension can be achieved by transferring from one set of ropes to another, generally to provide access or stability for work positioning. This video demonstrates how to perform a rope-to-rope transfer which may be a distance apart while avoiding an uncontrolled swing and the need for four points of attachment where necessary. This RIG video series covers exercis...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Using Ascenders
Переглядів 1,1 тис.2 роки тому
Climbing a rope (ascending a line) is the second basic technique in rope access and is accomplished by the alternate use of two ascending devices, typically a chess ascender and a handled ascender with a foot loop. This video demonstrates ascending and making a short descent on ascending devices on a set of pre-rigged ropes. This RIG video series covers exercises and skills required for both IR...
IRATA/SPRAT Level 1: Horizontal Aid
Переглядів 9 тис.2 роки тому
Horizontal aid climbing is a technique commonly used to allow traversing the underside of a structure such as a roof or a bridge while in suspension. Anchors may be fixed but more often we use moveable anchors such as slings. This video will demonstrate how to use both sliding and fixed anchor points to perform this maneuver. This RIG video series covers exercises and skills required for both I...

It was just because the rodeo was in town and the Audio Team called out the change. Normally we would never have to do a drift like this. Does that answer your question?
