Thanks so much! Glad you like the addition of the wind FX. I really wanted this to feel like you were watching like a scene from a CV2 movie. Like seeing Simon just walk through the ruins of this castle while wind is just whipping through all the holes and missing stones. And, no criticism taken at all! I love any kind of feedback! I guess for me though, I really toned down the percussion because I was afraid of it overpowering the classical instrument(s). Since you don’t really get “beats” in a lot of classical music I think I was worried it like wouldn’t sound as authentic or something if I boosted the drums up. But in retrospect I feel like I’d do it differently now as I’m much more into the idea that video game music can just be its own thing and when doing remakes, it doesn’t have to apply to any “rules” :)

Totally agreed about both. Most final level songs try to go super dark and heavy but always loved that this one goes in a completely different direction. Definitely ahead of its time

Thanks! And yeah, I may go back some day and just repost this. At the time, I thought the intro wouldn’t really matter as I really was never expecting any more than maybe a dozen people to have any interest in this. But now seeing how many people like the track, a redo seems in order

100%. Not a big fan of them getting more light and airy with the world map themes in other sequels. Instead the pace and the drive here are incredible - just perfect.

Thanks for commenting and cave song is so understatedly great. Love how that song & others on this soundtrack totally bucked what music a platforming game “should” have, going with slow tempos and tons of atmosphere. Brilliant stuff

Yeah, as I think I’ve noted in some of the descriptions, some of these remixes were made about 5-10 years before they were posted. So they were made with pretty dated technology and just from a time where I barely knew what I was doing lol. Back then I definitely though that reverb + echo = good; so sure that’s showing up here. At some point I’d like to go back and redo some of these but finding the time ain’t easy. Regardless thanks for the feedback!

They’re in there; just purposely buried a bit as I didn’t want this to sound too “rock-like” like you said. But definitely noted and thanks for the feedback. Makes me want to go back and redo this at some point
