Today is World Mental Health Day, a day where we educate others on the stigma attached to Mental health to show them it's nothing to be afraid of. That's it's OK & that those of us with Mental health issues are the same as everyone else. So letschat Mental Health shall we?

What The HECK!! The SKIES Are Clear AGAIN!
I need one of these!
They're actually quite amazing
I have got Deep Sky Camera on my S23 Ultra, I used it for taking the Aurora on the 11th Oct' and got some amazing shots. The Aurora was amazingly better than the May one, it was so big that it filled the whole screen, as well as on my DSLR. An off topic question, when is the Hamilton star party? Robert Stawell
Glad the app is working for you Robert :) Thanks for watching the video as well. With the Hamilton Star Party, i don't think there is a Star Party in Hamilton next year, but there is one in Mildura :)
Nice one Astro, have you thought about selling those 3d pieces for the Seestar? Im interested in the 6 and 3 point star adapters and also the dew/light adapter. If so let me know the cost, I'm in Melbourne. Cheers Rick
Once I get the 3D printer back up and running again I'll let you know
Pixel 7 Pro can go from 17 seconds maximum down to 1/35000. I picked this phone because it was supposedly one of the best camera phones. But I like mobile astrophotography, and the p7p is worse than my old Xiaomi Mi 10 T Pro
This is the reason I went to Samsung, better sensor & longer exposure length in the app. Also has the expert raw camera app which allows me to turn the camera into a DSLR & I can do timelapse with it
Hi @The_Astro_PuNk Which image stacker do you use?
I use AstroPixelProcessor & also PixInsight to do the stacking
@@The_Astro_PuNk thanks for your rapid response. I'll check those out. 👍👍👍
You're welcome. I will eventually do a video on stacking phone data with each of them.
Iphone here… but still good to see what you do.
There are some great apps for iPhones as well. Might see if I can get a hold of an iPhone and see what I can do with jt
Are these bullies also members of this volunteer organisation? Maybe time to name and shame?
Some were but aren't anymore, others are indeed. I won't name them because that would be stooping to their level & I'm not one to do that.
@@The_Astro_PuNk "them"? so there's more than one? That's terrible! Shame on them. Matey, next time they post something, make sure you take a quick screenshot (even with your phone) that way you will have evidence. You can then use that to get them out of you volunteer club. Are they using pseudonyms? If not, just get their screen shots before they delete, and then take details to yoru club. keep strong man.
Well said sir. Well said.
Love this! Go you! When I teach kids that display these types of behaviours, when you meet the parent you know why. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, unfortunately.
Thanks :) Yeah i put up with people like these at school when i was a kid, the bully who thinks he's done nothing wrong... You should see the list of names i've been publicly called by these guys .... it's just weird
Very true, great video. We all suffer at times. It's so important to speak up. Good on you for making this video, hope you make more. It's nice to hear from others. Take care and hope you had a nice dinner! :)
Hi Mr Iscaro, thank you for posting this. I love how you referenced some very high profile and well known people; who are just as 'human' as all of us, who suffer from depression. Great video, and thanks for bringing awareness of this.
Thanks for the lovely comment. Yes it's interesting isn't it that we seem to forget that even the bravest of souls, most powerful people also suffer & suffered from mental health issues. We should not shy away from discussing them openly & for asking for help.
Early detection of mental issues is crucial. In my area, most people are still ashamed and refuse to search for professional support, preferring to take random pills prescribed by the family doctor. Many adolescents exhibit signs of mental health issues, but some parents may feel hesitant to seek professional help from a psychologist due to stigma. As a result, some young people may turn to substance use as a way to cope. I lost several childhood friends, some of them are still alive but look like zombies. I feel extremely angry but it seems that things are gradually changing. The internet is a game-changer, and I think your video is helpful in highlighting the importance of talking about mental health more openly.
@@Helloooooooooooooo371 Totally agree with you, very true. I am sorry for the friends that you have lost. It's painful. I think that's why I appreciate videos like this one, and the one that Astropunk made a week or so ago on mental health. Many of us who suffer from this always feel isolated and afraid to speak up. Huge credit to Mr Iscaro for these videos; it's nice to know i am not alone. You're right - early detection and support are so important. When I was a teenager and young adult, I had no one. My life would have been different if I had support for my mental health back then. But that's okay... i'm making the best of things now which is good. Cheers to you and astropunk!
Agree with both of you on here. Wishing you all the best and happiness today and into the future.
@@emmapasqule2432 Thanks Emma :)
so many familiar faces Glad you had a great time
I do plan on going back to that area again, I'd love to spend a weekend up there camping.
Wish I could have made it to this year's camp. Glad you guys got some clear sky's.
Even with bad weather we ended up with one clear night & that timelapse i got from it made it all worthwhile
X marks the spot!
The buried treasure location of all the best milkyway timelapses
very keen to see the end product.
So am I! Hopefully I get it right

How to use? Tutorial plz
That's actually a very good idea. I'll work on one of those videos this weekend
@@The_Astro_PuNk That's great! I have a Redmi Note 12 device and unfortunately the app has some problem related to the focus sensor of this cell phone model. But the tutorial will be of great help!
I'll run through it using 3 different phones to show people the differences each phone can have and any issues I have with my versions
Good luck with the planning!! Look forward to following along.
Thanks :) i will do a video in the next week or so showing the course i will be walking :)
Join the club, we have had clouds and rain up here for days & days. No Aurora chasing, no comet viewing, no sun to look at, and you reckon you have it bad. The weather is supposed clear up towards the end of the week for us, so hears hopping. Cheers
I haven't imaged for 3 weeks because of cloud and the one night I did it was cloudy for half the night 😭
Soldier on brother. You might have to take up solar astro so you have something to target when it's clear!!
This darn weather is super frustrating
Thanks for this, we need more open discussions like this in society. Appreciate the effort you made to post this.
It's always difficult to speak out it, but it needs to be done
Wise words, hope you're up more thqn yoire down 🤞🏻
It really does vary day to day.
Thanks for sharing.
I'll continue to do so :) It is an important topic
I wish this video was longer! This is wonderful vlog; everything you said hits home. i need to speak up more to my friends and family. Thank you man. I probably give the impression to everyone that I am fine (maybe on outside because I joke and act like the life of the party) but often inside I am struggling. Lots of us go through this yeah? Thanks again for your video. Helps. And your other vids are great too!
I am the same, Life of the party, Always putting on the smile or attitude that everything is ok when deep inside it's dark & gloomy. Struggling with depression & anxiety is tough enough & when you throw imposter syndrome in, it's a struggle every day to get out of bed. I will do a longer one on this next week. I think it's important we openly discuss our struggles.
@@The_Astro_PuNk Huge respect to you. Thank you for sharing. You're speaking for a lot of us. Takes courage. Always enjoy your videos. You keep well man. And thanks - good to know i'm not the only one.

that looks like fun
It was a lot of fun, I'll be doing a lot more of this soon with an aim of becoming proficient enough in it that i can work with the team at Sidereal on a more permanent basis
HOLLY!!!!! glad you're ok. cars normally dont do so well against roo's
I think i copped the luck of the draw this time. Last time (about 3 months ago) i wasn't so lucky.
Your hair looks like cotton candy yum yum 😋
Mark, I really understand your frustration and see the need to call out the dickhead trolls. I suspect you are fighting an uphill battle but support where you are coming from and at least do a post to highlight how wrong the negative people who just assume something they can't do must be AI and not the individual's work. Just because some might do that, to assume everyone does it just shows how stupid they are. While I'm not a fan of mobile stuff, I agree that people need a safe and easy space to begin. A youtuber once said that you need a thick skin to post in the public domain as you will always get trolls hiding behind fake names and a keyboard.
Great comment Greg :) That's pretty much exactly how i see it and my videos & work while i enjoy them are there to show others that it's ok to go your own way, use phones & have fun doing astronomy. I'll always call out those who gatekeep this hobby whenever it happens, whether it's to me or to others. There's just no place for that kind of negative thinking in this or any hobby. Trolls will be trolls for sure & i will continue to call them on it.
Haha! It will be better!! And you’re right, at least with me. I wouldn’t have it any other way. If not astrophotography then what, golf, boating, flying, wine making, classic cars, or any other hobby of passion with a wallet attachment that one might go after. It’s all about doing stuff that makes you happy and maybe others find enjoyment in what you’re up to as well. It’s really nice that there is community and clubs around this hobby. Clear Skies and best of luck with your next target!! Cheers! Doug
Oh I totally agree. I wouldn't have it any other way in this hobby. Absolutely love it
Review? I don't know what star apps are on Android but perhaps a star (catalogue) app connected to a telescope (via wifi?) such as SkySafari Pro, Stellarium, Sky Guide, Observer Pro, Luminos or ??? (the key being controlling scope -- goto, sync etc)
Hmmm... That's actually a good idea :) I will put some thought into it & see what is out there & how i could go about reviewing them... thanks!
It will definitely work, but without that last optical element (eyepiece) to set the focal plane, you may find you need several inches of spacers to get the phone camera to the focal plane!
I figured it would work... but to what degree is another thing. Also seems I don't have enough bits and bobs with me here so I'm off the LMDSS tomorrow for the night and I'll have a play around there again
Esbonita esa foto que te tomaste
tough work at sideral trading haha !
Diego works me hard....
As you know I've never done guiding but why does your guide camera have to be pointing exactly on the same object your imaging since every celestial object ( except for the planets) are moving across the sky at the same rate?
Ahh see i'm not using it to guide with. Since i use my phone to image with, I still need a camera to move to each target & make sure it's centered, especially when it meridian flips. So technically i'm using the guide camera as my main camera. So yep it needs to be perfectly aligned so i know what's in the middle of that camera is in the middle of the eyepiece :)
I know the feeling Mark. What was the huge empty shed on your way back home?
That huge empty shed was the Murtoa Stick Shed. Was built to store grain in WW2, marvelous piece of engineering
I think we have all done something like that. I hadn't used the hand controller for almost a year (was using a laptop at home) so when I plugged it in I didn't realise that the latitude had defaulted back to the northern hemisphere. Spent about an hour trying to do a 3-star alignment with the scope pointing no where near the stars and ended up giving up and just doing some visual. Was only the next time up a Heathcote I noticed the setting, and managed to get a near perfect alignment first shot...
Yep... Was very annoyed with myself over that one. Won't do that again!. I also found the guide camera (Which i use as the main camera to polar align with) was not parallel with the telescope... So i'm working up a fix for that at the moment as well. 3 nights of clear skies predicted at LMDSS this week :)
so u will be building scopes. 12 inch newtonians i gather. are there details to come of the range? any thoughts on manufacturing an affordable harmonic drive mount? pretty exciting to have this happening in melbourne.
The company that will be building the telescopes in this clean room is CFF Telescopes which are part of Sidereal Trading in Cambellfield. cfftelescopes.eu/ www.siderealtrading.com.au/
I was thinking that back wall should also be covered with Gryprock and also maybe a diagonal brace (gal strap) on the free standing wall so as not to rely on one small section of the factory wall for diagonal support. I’m thinking a temporary diagonal brace to the floor in the middle of that floating wall (near the window) just for safety until you have the ceiling beams on and braced. (No, I’m not a builder but I’ve built stuff before)
It's all under control :) I'm a qualified building designer with 25 years experience. There will be bracing on the external wall in the form of ply as well as the beams over & sheeting on the beams locking it all together :)
😂🤩✨💖
Oh come on maaaan. A mobile phone? seriously? you didnt have the decency to put a DSLR on it? :P Or a cooled OSC camera? As an amateur astronomer i'm not mad just disappointed :D
Or... and just hear me out... I could just use a phone because it passes people off when I do 🤣
@@The_Astro_PuNk you do you my man. Btw where is this awesome dark sky site you use? I'm based in Sydney and good dark sky sites here are few and far away
