Something I discovered the other day and wrote about on the LainNet Blog is how the non-alt dump of Queen of Duelist Gaiden Alpha Plus on Neo Kobe contains a Yankee Doodle infected game program. Normally it can't spread since it's impossible to quit the game back to DOS, but if you try to start it with low memory, it will complain and immediately dump you back with the virus now memory resident, allowing it to infect programs like MEM immediately on execution (every DOS user checks their memory when they're low, don't they?)

I never played the game itself, but our very first sound card/Cd-rom combo came with a self running demo set to this music. Omg I haven't heard this since I was a little kid! Literally this was the very first thing I heard from our newly upgraded computer! It was mind blowing at the time!

I hope this OnePlus technology can be harnessed by the homebrew community to make remastered ROM hacks of classic NES games. One thing I would really love to see would be Final Fantasy Pixel Demaster ROM hacks for the first six games. The SNES can probably handle the new graphics, text and content as-is or maybe with the SA-1 chip hack but the NES would most likely require this OnePlus magic to have the Pixel Remaster graphics, script and content. It would be a way for fans to play the Pixel Remaster versions in 4:3 on a CRT in real hardware, but it would require having the actual Pixel Remaster games from Steam, Apple IPA or Android APK. The powers of OneBus and the Super Cartridge Pro tech used for the cancelled Hellraiser NES game combined would be amazing to make Final Fantasy Pixel Demasters that could run on real hardware (with an FPGA ROM cart) or accurate FPGA systems.

Is There some kind of music in this Microcosm video game? Because I downloaded the CD Rom Ms-Dos version and I am playing It with D-Fend Reloaded and DosBox. The video game works flawlessly but It seems It lacks the music, It´s like this video, with the speechs and the sounds, but no music at all, as I say is like in this video.

It's cool to hear from him. I think the interview could have been better, and I wish you would have grilled him more about what he remembers from the actual recording sessions of Snatcher. Then again, it was apparently just a week-long thin sometime in '93/'94. That's a long ass time ago, so I guess you can't expect him to recall any great nuances from it now. I think the reason the game didn't become a hit was just bad timing, and the particular hardware it was on. Next to no one had a Sega CD, and it was a console littered with -- and primarily known for -- its plethora of shitty FMV games, so it got lost in that noise. If the game had come out on the PC as opposed to the Sega CD, or been given an English PlayStation port, it probably would have been much bigger. It certainly deserves more than the relative obscurity and cult status it toils away in. All the characters in the game are very endearing, and well-acted. Lupetin affected the character with a wry kind of humor. Gillian's character is funny, but his character arch is actually very sad and oddly touching in the end.

I had three CDs entitled "100 Action/Adventure/Sports Games in 1" respectively, or something similar. This game is one I remember that was inside one of them. Does anybody know if those games are still available on some website or something like that where I can buy them from? I really wish I could experience them once again!
