where is Phase 2 ?

Where does the application reside? Is the following correct: 1. The SQL server resides in the cloud (obviously) at {db url} 2. The API package / software / service, lives on the machine on which the Visual Studio work was done (??) 3. The API package allows specific SQL commands to be executed on the db, using the credentials that were hardcoded in this case, but can be programmed to be provided via the API call 4. Which pre-set SQL command gets executed (with specific parts of the command filled in by the API call, as the whole query is not hard coded) is controlled by which url path you access (for ex, {db url}/api/student, or {db url}/api/teacher), as long as that If the above is true, I have the following questions: 1. Can the machine reside anywhere, as long as it accessible online, and can then connect to the SQL server?

This is what I have been looking for, but I have a question. I can see you run it in localhost, is there any way I can call it from something online? From a url? From the azure cloud?

A "cross-platform mobile app"? You are talking about a "progressive web app" website, aren't you? That is not an app. It's a website that people use to disguise the fact they can't be bothered to do their job: develop a real app.

Hi I followed everything step by step but there's something that seems to be blocking the locahost to launch the API(HTTP Error 400. The request hostname is invalid.) I think it's IIS7 related

If you receive this error in the Package Manager console "The term 'Scaffold-DbContext' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet". Make sure that you have installed Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Tools from NuGet.

30:23 - One possible reason why people use _ for lodash: 1) for a util library that is meant to be used very frequently, the name should be as short as possible, symbols are the best; 2) there are only two legal symbol in JavaScript which are allowed to be used in variable names: '_' and '$'; 3) '$' is taken by jQuery

Great video! It gave me exactly what I needed. Some of the steps didn't work with the latest software releases but worked using older versions which is ok. I was able to get through everything, but don't nesc understand all the pieces, so more reading (links) would be helpful. Couple other things...it'd be great to have a followup with how to deploy and host in Azure along with security considerations. Also, like anything, I'm sure there are 100 ways to do this. A year later, is this still the best approach? Are there other alternatives or links/videos with other options? Thanks again, this is super!!

Do not forget to install Microsoft.VisualStudio.Web.CodeGeneration.Utils if you get an error while trying to add Scaffolded Item.
