    Avoid the patterns. Stay single

    • @TheConsciousCouplesPodcast

Hey george, we're grateful for your perspective, although avoidance of hard things is a destructive way to go about conflict. One of the most incredible things we've learned through the research and couples themselves proofing it, has been that being able to confront conflict and unhealthy patterns in a relationship is actually one of the 6 fundamental elements to a great relationship. Avoidance, however, actually enables maladaptive coping mechanisms and is a sign of fear of one's ability to gracefully navigate conflict, and a staunch indicator of levels of low belief in oneself, believe it or not. We hope you're not avoiding conflict and missing out on a meaningful relationship because of this what you haven't learned yet! We welcome you to jump on an RTC Free session to learn some new skills! =)

Hi Evelin! Do you mean someone who can literally translate the session into another language? Or a session where one partner speaks and we interpret what they mean and translate that to the other partner to circumvent any communication barriers?

Thank you, this video has been extremely helpful to put things into perspective. Unfortunately my boyfriend broke up with me two days ago: he is of the fixed mindset. The term growth mindset came up in my therapy today, So afterwards I researched again because we couldn't think of the opposite, which was fixed. I wish I had found this video a little while back so I could have implemented some of the information or shown it to him in a gentle way. It's important information to know though. I appreciate it~

@jd6331 I am so sorry to hear that you are going through a break up. There's nothing more hurtful than that. I am glad that you have a therapist who you can lean on, to process through all of the really difficult and complex emotions that come with that process. Know that you are not alone, and you have us here to support you as well! Having a growth mindset is extremely difficult… Because it is often way later that we come to learn this about ourselves. I believe deeply that this video came to you in the best time possible, although that might be hard to see right now, this lesson for you is meant to serve you in a meaningful way that you will take forward with you forever.

The term itself is too immature to take seriously. It's a mind control tactic based on ostracism and shame. Get off my feed guilt cult.
