Was a train spotter in my youth which is why I stumbled on this! BUT OMG, this song is sooooooo beautiful. A big ask but could you message me the lyrics please or just the 4th line that follows "Where the breeze blows my dreams homewards" (I think) and the 8th line that follows "Oh I want to be where there’s always a star on the horizon" (I think). Would love my lad to learn it and sing it to me! Much thanks in anticipation

Wasn't there a stop at Gwill's? Was working in a field at Legonna and watched the last "packed" train pass by towards Trerice and Trewerry Halt. Peter Sidebotham (the Farmer) and I were both choked to see Beeching and the Tories political nastiness displayed to the public.. It was all about controlling the Rail Union deep down inside the Toffs heads. Control the masses!

As a kid I remember seeing much of this when it was in use. I am pretty sure it would be a very useful and picturesque line today especially if they ran regular steam days. No chance of restoration now with todays costs and cyclists taking over the old track bed in places.

There was never a line from Launceston (Lanson) to Bude only from Hawill /Holsworthy to Bude. You can buy the old GWR rail map including up to Crewe and Birkenhead and all of Wales for about £20 online and understand why "Dr Richard Beeching" should have been shot! You can also educate yourself when doing these video's!!!!!
