Brilliant channel to find, not many show the celica. I've noticed that my celica has a few small problems that you have shown videos on your channel. I subscribed. Cheers!
@@rxnpriest planning to have couple more of the Celica in the next monts. Glad You like it!
Great video! 👍 Must watch to the end for the bloopers!!
Thanks for the video! Question. The toggle switch, is that only used to put into D for cruise control?
Yes. If you dont care about cc then just wire it to L at all times.
That cigarette lighter socket is the best thing I’ve ever seen I don’t smoke or anything, but it’s just so random
Its a party trick. I go to LAN parties with it. I dont smoke either but others do. I also added active aero to it. I have 2 videos of it on my channel detailing the build. The cigarette lighter and drawer are legitimate addons for PCs from early 2000' that were installed to cases. Confuses the hell out of young ppl. Haha.
how big is the downpipe?.it looks fairly small.
Hi, it is 2.5". I agree it should be 3" or more but this came with the kit I have and it is compatible with the OEM exhaust. The kit is no longer made in case You are wondering. In spring I am planning to have a 3" exhaust with sports cats so this will be changed. But we will see if things go according to my plans anyways...
Will this work with my Dacia?
@@siimsander its perfect for a dacia
Have you driven it on the new engine mounts yet?
@@RallyRanchMotorsport Yes. In the end of the video I gave my oppinion too about them.
Hey man i need help with wiring car starts but is really slow
@@Careless_is300 is it in L gear?
Do you have a separate video that better shows the wiring done for the auto ecu, without CC? I don’t know what to cut/splice
No separate video. The schematic in the video is pretty clear on it. Also check the my.is forum post, maybe it helps.
@@husband_things I’ve looked at the forums and stuff, I wish I could just see the way people wire it up close lol. But from what I understand, I cut the red wire (21) and blue wire (23) from the ecu plug and run them into the green wire (29) but keep green wire connected to ecu plug
@@braedengeralds8305 Yes, you cut 21 and 23 and the ends of these going into the ECU(plug side) you splice/connect into 29. The 29 wire you do not cut - it has to remain connected as before to the ECU. The entire point of it is to send the signal that usually only goes to 29 pin of the ECU to all three pins of the ECU...so the same signal goes to 21,23 and 29. Originally only 29 receives the signal. And the signal is being sent TO the ECU not from it. Hope it helps!
@@braedengeralds8305 Also dont forget to cut D5 and isolate it for the reverse fix.
@@husband_things awesome thanks so much
If the bonnet is locked (closed) how do you open it and fix the lock
Hi, If the cable is done and there is no way to open it by pulling on the cable, then probably braking the clips of the front grill and remove it to access the lock from there. You might be able to get to it from the bottom by removing the splash guards from underneath. Not easy...
Awesome vid mate. I was kinda hung up on the bits around the shift buttons on my Caldina.
Glad to see someone found it useful! Thanks!
Gap ☠️
Great info. Any idea if this would apply to an 01 GS430? I have a manual swap with an auto reflashed ecu. Right now my ECU reads in 2nd and I'm curious if switching to L would make a noticeable difference. I also want to get my cruise control working as well and like the switch idea you had
Thanks! They are the same era cars so it is possible. Though the ECU pins and wire colors are for sure different from the IS300. If you find the same pins and wires on the GS430 then the same tricks might work. The switch works great, I am using CC all the time.
Great video! I have a 2006 IS250 that’s very good under the hood so I’m slowly restoring the aesthetics. I’ve restored the paint and headlights. I will come back to this video when it’s the steering wheel’s turn. Thanks for the vid!
thanks for this video man it's a great reference for my manual swap I am planning to attempt these coming months
Glad You like it! Thanks! I'm still happy with the swap and stuff works great.

I wonder if this mod will pass California smog test. In California, CEL is an automatic fail, even if it is not emissions related.
There is no CEL so why would it be an issue?
@@husband_things i didn’t watch the full video because I am not close to doing this swap yet. California rules are very strict so any unauthorized reflash or tune of the ECU is restricted. However, this looks like it’s a hard wire fix and not a flash.
@@pchae1 this creates the missing ATM signals using cam sensor signal. If you dont care about CC then you can hardwire without Arduino and there are no CELs either way. In the video timeline there are links for diagrams too.
Hello! the links to the 'Products used' are broken. Thanks.
Hi! Thanks for letting me know! Seems YT changed it's policy, it will take a day or two and then the links should work again.
They are now working!
How exactly did you adjust the cable mine seems the locking spring is not compressing all the way down so if I yank on the hood it will open up but if I take it off the handle on the inside it works properly with me just pulling the silver cable but don’t work properly with it being on the handle
Hi, do You have this problem with an old cable or new? On the inside the handle has only one position, there is no adjustment as such. There is a plastic gap inside where the cable attaches to the plastic tip on the cable(3:50 of the video you can see) . Maybe you have a problem with the plastic tip of the cable or the handle?
😮
If you have a aftermarket cable the same thing happened to me where the spring didnt compress all the way also when attaching the cable from the inside of the cabin it felt forced my only explanation i can think of is that the aftermarket cable is the wrong length and comes a tad bit too short . I got the oem one recently but havent had time to install it but most likely it would work .
So I can 100% confirm now that the aftermarket cable was definitely a tad bit shorter just enough for it to not work , now I installed the oem one and it’s working properly the way it’s supposed to . So please make sure you go the oem route when purchasing this part
@@juanitodorito3076 shoot I figured I did get it to work but it didn’t want to work at all it was so irritating
So amazing, i m waiting arm nas for 8 years?
I think now the proper NAS experience on ARM has arrived! Im sure there will be clones and the price will go down, but I think CM3588 like setup is the future. www.friendlyelec.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=294
Really awesome solution! Im trying to set up a Jellyfin and home automation on one Orange PI 5 16GB. What OS are you running?
Thank you! I am running Armbian Linux on it with Ubuntu desktop using wayland. Good solution if you want to use GPU for video playback. Armbian tries to give the same experience regardless of the board and long term support.
NIce! Is there room below or behind the drive bays to install the SBC instead of wasting one of the drive bays for storage?
I don't think there is enough room for Orange Pi 5, maybe a smaller SBC. In the back there are the high voltage wires - I would stay away from those. It would also make it rather difficult to access it - to use GPIO pins or to reset the device. I prefer not to pull power from the spun up drives. Since I took the power from SATA to power the SBC then I am not sure if this enclosure would provide enough current for 5 drives AND the Orange Pi 5. I already planned it like this when buying the enclosure - so I don't concider it a wasted slot 🙂 Thanks for the comment!
