What's crazy is this doesn't even remotely scratch the surface. During Covid many US studios were not in use or had limited use due to the restrictions on being close to each other. With that in mind Vancouver took it as an opportunity and put rules in place to allow studios to continue film making. There was a bit of time on Netflix where every single new piece of film being released all came from Vancouver. I'm sure nearly anyone who lives here has stories of flim crews in their neighborhood or town. If they're on your street they give you money or food to STFU during filming. Some people will even go mow their lawn during those times knowing the film crew will come offer them more goodies to mow their lawn the next day instead.

Oh no! Do you mean the classic WB studio lot? Well, I guess the average person no longer lives in a detached suburban house! 😂

Enjoyed the video. I admit it's fun to play "spot the locations" around the Lower Mainland -- to find an oblique view of 16th, east of Macdonald (Things We Lost in the Fire); mad splicing of footage for car chases (Shooter: New Westminster and Baltimore blended; Shoot to Kill (Sidney Poitier's worst?) Coal Harbour, ca 1987 and Horseshoe Bay) -- but what stands out to me are the lame scripts too often associated with Vancouver productions. There have been decent TV shows and movies filmed in town, including 2 of 3 mentioned above, but the duds really leave a bad taste. I feel sorry for the city each time I encounter one. lol I didn't catch the Cassiar tunnel, or anything else Vancouver, when I watched I, Robot. Probably not the only one that escaped my recognition. 😅

@@Blogzer I Robot hid and blended the locations very well. And I agree, Vancouver seems to get a disproportionate amount of duds. Though the Deadpool series has been a major recent win. Still, I wish Vancouver (and BC) could have its own Lord of the Rings style production event. Where the location is proudly proclaimed to be Vancouver / BC. Not hidden.

A few shots were filmed on 240th, the specific ones shown were 100th Ave. And yeah, since the 90s that area doesn't look the same at all. Also, in general speak for the Vancouver film industry, everything from Squamish to White Rock to Hope is "Vancouver."

Watched another great behind the scenes video about this show today. Unfortunately it didn't have any info on the epic station-wagon jump scene. So the quest continues.... It did discuss a bit of the making of the vehicle though; and a whole bunch of other stuff. This show needs a good 3 hours of behind scenes & in-depth documentary to really cover all the cool factoids.
