My personal theory is based on the song in the mufasa movie I always wanted a brother u can tell from the lyrics scar had a more controlling kind of personality and didn't act like he should be king while mufasa on the other hand during the song his lyrics showed why he should be king, another theory based in the lion king 2019 when scar says "I wouldn't dream of challenging u again" is scar had to challenge mufasa for the throne so whoever's physically stronger would be king which is kinda sad,and my last theory while this isn't likely is scar had to challenge mufasa for the throne because mufasa was older and was officially accepted into the family but this theory doesn't seem as likely as the other 2 to me😎😎 awesome vid btw🤩🤩
