Marc's second last gig at Ceilidh's pub and the last time Hilda and I got to play with him. He treated us to his classic step dancing while playing the Dinky Dorian as he did so many times. John Robert Gillis with some great steps as well. Chris Babineau - guitar Marc Boudreau - fiddle Hilda Chiasson - piano Ceilidh's Pub - Dartmouth, NS

Dave looks like he wants to strangle the lady with the spoons and I get it, spoons only sound good if the person playing them really knows what they are doing, otherwise they're just annoying.
Daves a wizard. Whole other level.
@@DJamesML 💯
Great birls in the Devil. And, no wonder with those Scot last names you both are so adept at the Cape Breton idiom.
fantastic muscians. we all miss Marc. a wonderful person and talented player
Just stumbled upon this today. I feel like that little fella in front of the stage is destined to be a stepdancer & fiddler.....Anyone know if he's started lessons yet? lol
Awesome
put sponges on spoons
Merci Chris d'avoir partagé les tunes avec Marc et Hilda 😊
Hilda is simply an amazing musician. We hope to see her live some day!
She is off the top for sure!
Hilda, you are one of the very finest on this planet!!! No one can play like you. Such CLASS!!!
What are the names of all the tunes? I only recognize the first on as John MacColls Farewell
Next is Colin Rankin's strathspey.
Sleepy Maggie is in there. The D tunes: MacNabb's Hornpipe, Southern Melodies, Antigonish Polka #2.
Mark you popped into my thoughts today so I think I will sit back and enjoy some rum and listen to you play .
Hilda is such a great player.
thanks for filming this
Cape Breton's talent. Excellent. ya-Whooooooo.
If I had to guess the lady playing the spoon is probably from Cape Breton.....
Merci Chris ❤
I enjoyed that--thanks! The first tune is Over the Moor to Maggie, and the last tune is Dave MacNeil's
Dave Macisaac has been a guitar playing hero of mine for over 40 years. I first herd him on a CD called Nimble Fingers and was hooked. As I understand it he pretty well pioneered playing Irish fiddle tunes on guitar however if anyone else knows for sure someone who was doing it before Dave please enlighten me.
John Allen Cameron
Dick Gaughan is just a little bit older than Dave MacIsaac, and recorded his instrumental guitar album of Irish tunes, called Coppers and Brass in 1975. There is definitely some similarity in their sound and styles! They both are great!
@@bmurch71 I've got that LP!
Scottish tunes, mostly.
Hilda and Dave .....always gold
. . . god love them both!!
