i think its a good introduction for people that have never raided before. comming from dungeons where people had to deal with "this boss fears once a fight". when DM came out later it was a big step up in difficulty btw. but yeah its not very hard and i guess not the point of it. the hardest part in classic raids is usually the stuff arround it with finding the correct people, consumes and overall prepwork.
When you get the debuff all your casts are instant... including your hearthstone. When you leave the instance your buff also gets removed so you are save
