Nice, someone from outside who understood the "Ausbildung". The Dual Vocational Training is for all crafts (baker, plumber, construction worker, hairdresser, cook, ...), for all about agriculture (farmer, gardener, florist, ...) also the industrial kind of crafts and many commercial education (sales clerk, bank clerk, payroll clerk, ...). The School based Training is for other jobs, like nurse, child care workers, occupational therapist, and others. I made a video on each of this. While in dual vocational training you apply as an apprentice to a company (big or small) and you learn and work there as well as in the vocational school, traditionally for a school based training, you went to a school (paid for that) got the education and had some internships during that. For medical nurses, the standard way today is to apply at a hospital or home for elderly people, get payment as an apprentice and do the training at the special school and do the internships at that hospital or home for elderly people. Nearly half of Germans who leave school start some kind of this "Ausbildung". Few years ago, more people did this, than starting a study. And with the finished apprenticeship at least when yu became a master craftsman you even could start to study, if you want to, no matter what the school leaving certificate said.
