Calling a Judge in Magic the Gathering
Extreamly slow zomby is truley slow took 4 cards and a year to say the word brains XD
it would also be fun to play disciple of caelus nin while all their stuff is phased out
Emrakul + Swords to plowshares is the easiest way to do this since you can “deny the life gain” from swords on their turn as well
If I'm not mistaken, if you've already created the infinite treatures when the last card hits the field none of the rest of it happens. The way you described it doesn't work like you said. You'll want to cast that card before making the infinite treasures.
now what if you enchanted it with first strike or double strike.
Ninjutsu is how i get my Etrata the silencer win con to work
I've had this happen to me in a casual game but with Emurkal, and yeah it sucks. XD
Honestly, Last strike and Triple Strike is a silver border mechanic that I think would actually play well in black border and I have long wanted to see it in play.
Worth note, you can crew a vehicle multiple times to get triggers off 'whenever one or more creatures become tapped' abilities multiple times. I can crew with one group for one trigger, then crew another time for a second trigger
Yeah, or just tap more than the needed amount of power to crew it once.
@seandun7083 'whenever one or more creatures you control become tapped' abilities will trigger once from a single massive crew, but can trigger multiple times if you have multiple smaller crews.
@@scarlethart7745 true.
old artwork is goated
I had this happen last night, but if my opponent swings at me with a lifelinker, I declare a blocker, and then the blocker phases out before damage what hapoens
Holy fuck I want that alt artwork for my mono blue tron deck
How many people cant read the word "target". 🤡
Yeah i would just scoop if someone did this to me
I call BS. I will try to do this on arena.
Now explain to people Targeting with Horobi deaths wail and how resolution of touch of darkness doesn't matter. Same reason why if you path a creature and don't get to find a land because it dies off the target before path is resolved
Yeah, i had a path to exile in my hand, and my opponent cast emrakul the promosed end. I was playing myrel. Deck is worthless without the commander :3
What's stopping the following? 1. Mind Slaver. 2. Have other player resign.
Because conceding is not a game action as far as I’m aware
Never playing magic with your friends again
if there was a card that says they have to choose to pay or lose the game you can make that decision but the game has to ask the question. Its the same way you can't just sac a creature or discard a card without the game enabling it.
720.6. The controller of another player can’t make that player concede. A player may concede the game at any time, even if they are controlled by another player. See rule 104.3a.
i just have to convince my pod that we should all get one proxy deck 🤞
Do it! I just finished a no ban commander tournament in my discord and it was amazing!
.75 a card is still expensive
@@RipPullRepeatthey’re arguing that if you have one proxy deck whats stopping you from getting as many as you want but i don’t see a problem with this i’ll probably be able to convince them by the weekend
the amount of times ive told someone "targetting is targetting" lmao
I always thought it was a legal play to make them concede lol
Given the card was made for 1v1, if that were legal it'd just make them lose the game (like Door to Nothingness)
" Owner " , not controler
Still works. In this case you're controlling the owner, not the card. If you were to take their commander with Treason or something and exile it, you are its controller but not its owner, so you don't make the choice, but if you take control of your opponent through Mindslaver or Emrakul or something, you make their decisions as if you were them. Their hand, permanents, everything are considered to have you as their owner for that turn, making this move BS, but legal.
@lordchonky7173 what if you're playing with someone else's cards? Let's say I borrowed my brother's Red/White soldier-burn deck, and the commander would be exiled by a decision while I-the player and controller of the commander-was controlled, while the effect points to the card's owner making that decision? If my opponent is controlling me as the player, but the card is actually owned by someone else outside the game, what happens?
@Johnhamsta A good question. So, in this context, owner is simply the term used to refer to whoever is currently piloting the deck, regardless of who actually owns the cards. If you borrow a deck, for that game you are considered the owner of the cards within it for effects like this. It's simply a way of dictating who the card's ORIGINAL controller is, not a term of actual ownership of the thing itself, yknow? If i borrow your deck and you borrow mine, I am the owner of your deck and you are the owner of mine for as long as that game goes on. That make sense?
so just be an ahole
Purple kinda did happen with how colorless has been handled over the last ten years. With eldrazi especially being a prime example of turning colorless into its own kind of color. Personally I still think purple would have been dope and time and turn order are cool mechanics to build a color around, I imagine phasing and manifest could have gone in there too to give it more identity but sadly we’ll never know
This is an interaction you warn folks about before playing with them. If you sat down for a casual game and didn't tell me, you'd be having to drop your fuel resevior off your car by the next day.
Nicol Bolas Dragon god, they lost cause they had no Legends
Hey dumb question, but can I make my opponent concede?
No you cannot
It may be a dumb question, but it’s a great question.
Honestly it's an interesting question not a dumb question and the better question is why not if you control every action they can legally take conceiving is a legally take up all action why may you not make them concede
@@fenrismarks876 think of every action even casting a spell as a decision - passing priority is a decision, putting a spell on the stack is a decision. The game implicitly asks if you want to do these as you pass through phases. You can't take actions outside of these decisions - you can't just randomly shuffle your deck or discard or sac because you aren't presented with that opportunity by the rules. Now if there was a rule that said at the end of each turn decide if you are going to concede or pass to opponent then mindslaver would let you concede.
Shit rule to be honest. Ive done it to people and had it done to me. Lame either way
Is it the same thing of the blocker has protection?
Damage is assigned before it is dealt. You must assign lethal to the blocker, then the rest to what ever you're attacking. When damage is dealt, the defending creature is not dealt lethal damage. So during first strike, assign damage equal to toughness then rest to player. Since creature has not be dealt lethal damage, you have to assign damage equal to the toughness a second time for normal strike damage. EX: A 4/4 Double Strike blocked by a 2/2 Pro Creatures would deal 4 to player because 2 was blocked in first strike and 2 was block in normal strike.
You can also be protected from colors so unless that boardwipe is colorless try again
(903.9a If a commander is in a graveyard or in exile and that object was put into that zone since the last time state-based actions were checked, its owner may put it into the command zone. This is a state-based action. See rule 704. ) thanks to this rule wouldn't the next time statebased actions are checked asfter you stop controlling them they could move it to the command zone.
No because technically the owner did let it go to exile.
'since the last time state-based actions were checked' means no unless the commander is somehow moved from exile
state based actions are checked before another player gets priority, and priority is passed 50+ times in a 4 player game.. most of the time you dont 'see' that happening, because most of the priority check is skipped by players, and only actually measured when a player wants to add something to the stack, but just because each priority and SBA check is generally skipped to save time, doesnt mean they dont actually happen.. even effects that can clear "until end of ____" effects, like discontinuity (instant that causes the turn to end immediately) would still not be able to save a commander from being left in exile, because when the commander changes zones, it triggers a SBA and the owner decides if it goes to command zone or not.. no player can cast spells or activate abilities while making the choice, then before the active player gets priority, SBA are checked again, and by this point, the commanders fate is already sealed.. as soon as the commander is left in exile, unless you have an effect that will specifically remove it from exile, it is permanently stuck there
Do I control my opponent’s decisions when I control my opponent’s decisions…
Nice infant annihilator hoody
I can guarantee no casual table will abide by that rule. But its great for cedh
Never seen this at a cEDH table
Yeah I doubt you’d see this in cEDH since it only hits 1 player and doesn’t set up a combo win. This card is meant to be in a deck trying to hurt feelings if your goal is to start perma-exiling commanders.
Dude half the cEDH decks nowadays don’t care about the commander at all, it don’t hurt cEDH in the slightest
@@juter1122 and that is exactly the attitude that will get you removed from a playgroup ... xD
@liamlanphear6371 i dont play cedh, I simply understand cedh has no "rule zero" and if a card is legal in the format it is playable. Goal is winning as fast as possible. I do not see this rule of "your commander is exiled permanently from the game" as something casual tables will roll with. Everyone else at the table will most likely just go "yeah put it in your zone at upkeep dont care" or the dude will scoop and not play against that deck again. I see the same attitude all the time for way less targeted salt
If you do this then count your days
Wow! Thanks
Why can't i crew my clown car into itself.. 😭
I definitely had to reread this a few times to understand it. The TRIGGERED ABILITY happens at the BEGINNING of the post combat main phase, but the end of the text specifies that the additional phase takes place AFTER this phase (currently your post combat main phase) So by moving through combat and then untap/upkeep/draw, you've signaled that you're ending your second main phase. So if I understand correctly your turn would be something like: 1st Main Phase - Cast Sphinx Shortcut through Combat Phase 2nd Main Phase Begins -Trigger adds additional beginning phase AFTER this 2nd main phase Do whatever you'd like during second main phase Start 2nd Beginning Phase Move to End Step
What happens if I mutate on top of a vehicle? I dont know…
“If a mutating creature spell merges with a creature that's only temporarily a creature, it will remain a merged permanent when the effect making it a creature expires. It still has all of the characteristics of the topmost object, which may cause it to be a creature or to not be a creature, and it has all of the abilities of its other cards.”

What i want to know is Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Iowa??
I looked up everywhere for this. No one could answer me. Crazy. Thank you. I figured it was like this but thought i was wrong
I know posion counters
I saw this one right after your other video on the same subject. And I have to say, I enjoy seeing your face as just the voice-over feels a bit too close to something like a content farm. However, I found the other one communicated the information better. The back and forth works really well when explaining the interactions between keywords like your protection vs. trample as an example as that feels like an actual question someone would ask or need to look up. This felt more awkward and forced.
wild how many people in the comments didn't understand how deathtouch works
I know this video is 2 months old but I recently came across a rules question. What happens when you have a goblin sharshooter and you cast something like blasphemous act, can goblin sharpshooter untap and tap and deal damage for each creature that dies? The counter argument was that they get to choose the order the deaths stack and trigger so they can untap and ping sharpshooter for each creature before it's death, i'm like 100% sure that it can't but what is the specific why it can't ?
Unfortunately I’ve poisoned someone for game because of teferis protection 😢😂 I’ve felt like a monster ever since
I have also done this but I did not feel horrible about it since the guy was smack talking and stacking his deck the whole game.
@ that’s just karma 😂 I’m honestly happy that happened I hate gloating protection players. More of a bunch of taunter really
Yeah it would have been less confusing if the after wasn't the last thing it said something like "after your postcombat main phase there is an additional beginning phase"
Your vida are helpful for new players, but god samn, you sound and look SOOO condescending and arrogant while doing it, off putting to say the least
I look condescending too? Gotcha sound and look condescending 👍
Wow, spreading awareness of niche rules is sooooo condescending. If you feel bad in any way reading this, it's because I am looking down on you
Doesn't sound condescending at all. Sounds like someone explaining something with a lot of details.
@RipPullRepeat Yeah, let me explain If you use the same tone of voice and pull the same facial expressions in real life as you do in your vids to a player that doesn't know the exact rules, you look and sound like they're dumb as hell. I watched sooo many formats like yours, none of them come off like a smartass know it all even though they explain the rules perfectly. Honestly, if i was playing you in a pod and you used the same tone of voice and pulled the same "wtf is this guy doing" face, I'd just leave the pod. You're either awkward on camera, or you deliberately act like a smartass. At least you're pro proxies, which is cool.
Ok, but what the hell is shroud?
I prefer your style of videos where you are on camera, if I didn’t recognize your voice I wouldn’t have known it’s you
Great information to know! Thank you for that!
