MAYDAY! VESSEL ON FIRE 🔥😮🚤
Around 5:45pm on August 27th 2024, a mayday was heard on channel 16 with a vessel reporting to have fire on board. A nearby good samaritan came to the persons aid and got him off the boat before it had fully engulfed into flames. Macomb County Marine Division quickly responded to battle the blaze. TowboatUS Lake St. Clair got on scene to provide any assistance for the marine division. While this was all happening, a severe thunderstorm was rolling across the lake with winds over 60mph and dangerous lightning. The fire was brought under control and the recovery then began. Tremendous efforts by all who were involved. Unfortunate situation but NO ONE WAS HURT 🙏 As we saw with this event, the people of Lake St. Clair, the Marine Division, United States Coast Guard and TowBoatUS will always be there for each other 💪

We're out on the water...ok. Good. I was afraid I was going to have to look on land 😂
Boats look good capt!
@@CaptKenO long season, looking forward to a little break. May take a trip down to the gulf coast this winter
see you next summer
Great compilation! Good job Tow Boat!
When do you guys stop towing for the season?
Just wow!
They could have just let it burn to the waterline and gotten off the water sooner. The result was going to be the same either way.
@@P.Rack25 no, letting it burn would have eventually breached the fuel tank causing even more pollution. Not to mention the danger to others in the area that didn’t have the sense to keep a distance. Getting the fire out as quickly as possible and then removing the boat from the water was the best course of action
@@SeaNickLakeStClair Good point! I guess I was coming from the perspective of the crap conditions with the storm coming and get everyone safe. I'm glad it all worked out.
Nicely done guys. I'm surprised there aren't more fires on gas boats with all the inexperienced boaters on the water. My head is on a swivel at a gas dock as I did see an explosion years ago while waiting in the creek, Stay safe!
At 3:00 that guy operates the fire cannon like my four year old uses the potty, LOL! (I'm sure it's not as easy as it looks but that water was going EVERYWHERE but on the fire)
@@ChrisGoosman he had to catch up to a moving boat. We could not stop the tow or the boat would go down. All while we still had wind gust to 30mph from the storms that passed and coming in
@@SeaNickLakeStClair I get it, I'm sure I would look even more ridiculous trying to do something so complicated. It just struck me as a funny moment in an otherwise pretty serious video. Good job on your part of this, glad no one was hurt or worse.
This is still the funniest comment in this thread. 🤣
How did the boat stay afloat with all that water thrown at it?
@@acreguy3156 it was fine timing between getting the fire out and then getting pumps in
@@SeaNickLakeStClair Thanks 👍!
@@SeaNickLakeStClair The fuel tank and the engine room must be in chilled condition in the summer months 😮They must also be in separate sealed chambers and kept under temperature controlled conditions 😮😮
Where was this at? I think I saw this boat burned at a marina off of Front Road in Lasalle.

Agree with you I do
No life jackets or buoyancy aids guys …. Really? Good job otherwise.
@@graemekerr4325 not sure what you mean. I was personally the one in the water and managing the lines & pumps and I had a life jacket on the entire time
Hell yeah Capt! Glad you like the 360 cam!
On arrival was that trolling motor recharging the battery?
@@Rocky3ooo “go home boat, you’re drunk!”
Service the motor as soon as you get in, drain boat, fuel tanks etc, put in enclosed area with dehumidifier and fans, good to go.
Seems like that would be a rare event. I've never seen it myself.
Most mornings are like this. Just not on the weekends

That Little Sport Boat should never been out on the lake!
That's a big lake lol😂😂
Bro that looks terrifying 😅
It's alright. Just found out the fuse box in the shop is hooked directly into the main breaker in the house instead of a secondary breaker. Gotta redo both panels to put a generator behind the building so we don't kill the linemen. Fuckin fucks.
omg damn extremely dangerous
Im checking mine right now. This guy sounds just like my maintenance man
How did you know his house burned down? Ohh intuition!
At least they have a cold water ground 😂

Good day fishing. I had my Family up there last week also.
That was a really cool trick, or kool/kewl even. The way you flipped her up & released the rope to the back so it would start coming along. I've never seen that done. It was impressive but that shows you I don't know too much. thanks
I like it slick work!
