Super playing Jim!
Ah Jim. Pat sent me this video when you made it but ,I didn't know you then ! So its you acting silly!
When did I do anything else?
Nice one Steve!
Thanks Nigel, both E strings down to D.
Nice performance Phil, could I ask what tuning you’re using?
Lynne and Pat are a class act.
Superb!
Hey Jim, very nice performance! A while ago I acquired one of John Pearse's old guitars. I'd really like to play some of his music and had fun playing McGees's Rag and learning Red Light Rag by your recording. Sadly the book you were talking about doesn't seem to be available anywhere.
Thank you Daniel - I searched a bit and found that the book is actually called The John Pearse Album of Ragtime Guitar Solos. There's a pic of it here www.amazon.com/Pearse-Album-Ragtime-Guitar-Solos/dp/B01N21QBG5 and the following allegedly has a pdf you can buy pdfmedia.net/book/GxwsmgEACAAJ/the-john-pearse-album-of-ragtime-guitar-solos/john-composer-arranger-pearse/unknown/null/1970/OCLC:656027538/uncategoriezed - beware though, I have no idea if they are legitimate. There are also TEF files online for the two rags I play (it's actually Redlite Rag - not my English misspelling). There is a free TEF viewer and player too. If you'd like them I'd be pleased to send you copies if you tell me where to send them. If you have any success I'd be pleased to hear about it. Good luck.
@@jimcoombes Thank you! The website doesn't seem very trustworthy to me. Sadly I also didn't manage to find those TEF files you mentioned. However I did a quick transcript of the piece myself. I made a little video if you like to check it out. I did change a couple of details here and there. ua-cam.com/video/nuueluee6CI/v-deo.html I'd really love to check out the rest of the Rags in this book, maybe someday I'll be lucky to find it at a flea market or something...
@@danielriccabona-guitar That's excellent Daniel. I believe there's a recording of John Pearse's version too. I think we've both embellished it a little. It was one of the first "serious" pieces I had a go at and took me a long time (in about 1970 and I still play with fat fingers!).
Well done Jim! - I just found this - Most amusing Sir! :)
I have this on a CD by Tim Laycock - you've created a nice rendition. Love the guitar
Well done Jim.
Lovely to see John. Top song
Top work on the cgi there, Jim. Shaz is a fan of Phil’s room. Sounding good. Got you up on the big telly. 👍
