Only Grind Concrete When Coating Never Acid Etch!!🚫
Today I will be showing you a short video with an explanation of why you should onlt grind your concrete. It’s the only proper way to prep your floors. I see alot of major “pros” only acid etching or even just power washing which is completely wrong. None test for moisture or even check the Temperatures of the Concrete. #painting #diy #epoxy #construction #howto #tips #tricks #satisfying #painter #concrete #automobile #reels #shorts

Perfect instruction and I had to comment because you pointed out safety + technique! Great job my man 👍
Thank you brother I appreciate the comment alot!! It really helps out!!
I should call her
I like to use my own cock in the restroom.
Nice
Thank you for the comment and support!!
Didn't grind the cement enough
Flase you can grind the cement enough and still put down the wrong or less quality product. You get what you pay for.
They did something wrong because I've used what looks like the exact same one from Home depot and zero issues after years
Yes the problem is it doesn’t come with 1 pound of Chips per 10 square feet.
Look into a 24" drywall taping knife with a screw on handle. They work awesome for scraping!
@@mikemike0000 most definitely will have to try that as well thanks for the advice!!
Maaannnnn, thats a 40 pound box poured into 3 buckets! Stop the cap, my boy! 😂😂
Lmao Nope not at All, Call Cohills from Phoenix Arizona they’ll let you know about them 55 pound box of chips.😂 bro you really thought you were on to something.🤣
@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC I'm just messing with ya! I use Toringal flake and a 40 pound box almost fills 3 buckets. Sub'd to your channel. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼
@ thank you brother I appreciate it alot. Sometimes people make comments it hard to tell so my apologies.
This stuff is garbage and it never last...........rofl of course you sell epoxy flooring coatings, wheres your top clear coat? What a joke
@@bradleywise835 clearly you’re blind if you can’t see the Two Urethane Top coat why don’t you go ahead and check out the video for the full explanation before assuming.😂
Also nope I don’t sell any products at all Just a Contractor telling you how it is. We do not use any cheap lowes or home depot products.
@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC you did a super thin uerthane top coat, id hardly call that a topcoat, whats stronger eurethane clear or epoxy clear?
Sincerely what do you recommend? Different price points?
@@Bobert00169 Sherwin Williams makes really good Epoxy’s and My Local Store As Well Makes Top Quality Epoxy’s. But typically any Two Part Epoxy that is Solvent, Acid and U.V resistant. Also Make sure you have on average of 1 pound of chips per 100 square feet. That will not only ensure an even finish but the chips will actually protect your base coats as well.
Used this stuff with my dad in my parents garage when i was little, 14 years later its still great. Propper installation and prep does a world of difference.
@@austinparr6186 still great isn’t black stains and areas peeling away. Still great is looking like the day you installed it. Also they only give you not even 10 pounds of chips. Which the standard is 1 pound of chips per 100 square feet.
@@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC buy more... Either way... U have an opinion not all others shares... Get over it. I'm a general contractor to a multi million dollar real estate company. U insulting people's credentials just to be right ain't cute
@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC yeah there are no black stains and none of it is peeling. The amount of chips was great too because we followed the instructions given with amount of materials needed for the square footage and took proper preparation procedures.
Feeding the chickens!
@@mikemike0000 yes sir!! Feeding the chickens!!
I've installed those in hundreds of buildings and never failed once. It's not the product it's the installer not properly installing it...
@@ExtinctInsanity lmao I highly doubt you installed this in even 10 buildings. No real commercial general contractor is paying for this product. Yet alone architects aren’t even including this product in the specs.
So what should I use instead
Those products work great. It's because they didn't prep the floor properly
Use an etcher... Do proper prep... It's a good product
15 years and no peeling in Florida
Guarantee you its stained and faded they don’t last here in the HOT AZ SUN.
@@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC ud lose that bet... But admittedly it is a garage with very little use and Florida is hot enough... U can have AZ. Don't be offended bc my floors still look good... It wasn't meant to be a permanent solution... Just lasted so I stand by the product... Sorry you're not as fortunate. Hope you found another product you're happy with.
Yeah, let this guy do a half ass job so they can disappear overnight
Lmao there’s a reason why Im a 3rd generation Contractor. I Warranty all my floors for 10 years with no issues why because why put on High quality Products.
Epoxy is epoxy. Doesn’t matter how much you pay for it, there’s no difference in the chemical make up. New concrete should cure for at least 28 days before applying an epoxy coating to ensure that excess moisture evaporates and the concrete gains sufficient strength. In some cases, depending on environmental conditions, it may take as long as 60 days for the concrete to be ready for coating. And lastly, DIY’ers aren’t removing the seal coat.
@@joemarino7430 that is a very ignorant statement. Epoxy is not Epoxy. Theirs Epoxy’s meant for certain environments and applications. You’re first comment alone shows how ignorant/new you are. We allow new concrete to sit for 28 days due to alkalinity not moisture. We have moisture vapor barrier epoxy’s for that. You see new concrete is very acidic so you have to allow that to neutralize over time naturally.
@@joemarino7430 before you decide to just google something actually do deep research.
Improper prep
@@joemarino7430 nope far from it, you have not a clue in the world about Epoxy or Concrete Coatings. You other comment about the moisture alone shows just how much knowledge you have.😂
Garage⛩️🚗 🚫 Garbage ✅🗑️
The only reason that came out crappy is operator error
As that is always a major factor, the products used as well matter. This kit doesn’t even come with the recommended 1 pound of chips per 10 square feet.
90% diy skip the prep work
Stop lying to these people tell them the truth they didn’t do good enough prep work that’s why they’re peeling
@@CodyHenderson-k8y no the truth is this product doesn’t offer near as much quality as other products. Doesn’t even come with 10 pounds of flakes per 100 square feet like requirements are. But hey keep being ignorant.
I did my garage floor in a slightly more expensive epoxy but with great reviews and i made sure to rent the floor grinder first to do a good prep, been 10+ years some very very small chips that don’t spread only where the tires pull on and off!
@@coreyswaz5702 alot of people don’t understand the Chips play a very important role in the broadcast coatings. They provide protection to the base coat while hiding dirt, scratches, dinks, etc. Acts as another coating over top of the base coat if applied until rejection. Check out how we do it in other videos.
A mediocre product will perform better on a well prepared surface than a high performance product on a poorly prepared substrate. Over 30 years in the industrial coating business. And coating concrete is one of the hardest substrates to apply coating to.
@@Oilfieldscout yes as that is true as well. But to sit here and say this product provides as much durability, reliability and stability as other products on the market is not only a lie, but just straight up ignorant. Im a 3rd generation My grandfather did this and My dad.
Better get your hand grinder out young buck
Lmao had to take the videos for UA-cam.😂
@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC I know just messing with you lol
All the DIYERS and Cheapskates are Mad.😂
Bro's argument is Everybody calling me says their coating failed. What are people gonna do? Call you and tell you their floor is fine? Hahah
@@samohteel4393 The Fact is This Coating has failed the most and the quickest. With a true epoxy broadcast system the floors clear coat is what only fails within 10-15 years meaning the sheen and gloss fades. But it’s easy all you do is sand it down with 80 grit then apply a clear with more broadcast then another 2 coats of clear and boom! Looks like the first day you did it. They don’t even give you a fraction of enough materials for the job in this kit.
I worked in a medical grow facility and it doesn't hold up to areas that retain water, but where water wasn't retained.... it worked great
@@kevinstoneburner8775 exactly in a high demand and heavy weather settings it doesn’t last but if you plan on hardly using it then go fir it.
What product do you recommend?
Its not a product failure, its an installation failure
Its product failure there is a reason why contractors don’t use these products and why you’ll never see these used in commercial settings like stores and restaurants.
@QZCOATINGSWESTCOASTLLC I know of atleast 2 businesses in norcal that are full time doing epoxy floors in buisiness/industrial applications in Northern California, if its not new concrete,it has to be acid washed and scrubbed rigorously, ive done floors that are going on 15 years of everyday usage that still look brand new,
He’s just trying to promote his material I am a contractor I own a construction company and I flip houses and every single house I do gets these epoxy coatings in the basement and garage unless it’s a finished basement and I have never in all my years had an issue
@ lmao you’re definitely not a contractor and if you are you’re definitely not licensed, bonded and insured. Also Nope I don’t even have my own product Ive just happened to install 100,000 square feet of epoxy a year both Commercial and Residential. You’re really cheaping out on epoxy id hate to see what else you’re cheap on. “Im a contractor we flip houses” was all I needed to hear from you.😂
@@bradleywise835 lmao acid washing is terrible. The acid never truly neutralizes I highly doubt you’ve done any floors that last 15 years especially on a acid etch. Id love to see how beat up they are. I know for a fact if it looks hideous especially if it’s not already peeling and fading away.
Its not the product. Its the prep.
It is definitely the product you get what you pay for.
They work fine. People are dumb and don't follow the instructions and don't bother prepping.
@@Kingyayaa no they’re not fine at all they fail and do not last in high demand settings. You get what you pay for
I just pee on mine seems to work also keeps pest out along with friends and family something
Preparation in the key here with these coatings
If installed correctly it won't peel...12 yrs and still not peeling
@@rodepperson5885 definitely not in high use settings all these floors fail within 1-8 years when a true epoxy wont fail in 20 plus years.
@@rodepperson5885 i guarantee you the floor is not easy to clean nor high use. Any customers that use there floors daily know this product fails. True epoxy will last 20 plus years.

lol you are not a painter Straining and boxing are very important I mean if you are just doing a shitbox rental then nothing matters Most painters don’t even know the steps of rolling
It’s absolutely essential. Or else your sprayer clogs up every 5 seconds and it’s annoying af. What I do is tape the strainer around my pump head so I don’t have to strain the entire 5 g bucket
