    For the Beginner starting off, all that is needed is 1 a pistol 380 minimum, 2 a rifle 30 06, 3030 or 308, 3 a shotgun 12g or 16g slug ......... that's it .... this will cover all SHTF scenarios to feed yaself, defend yaself and home etc ... Critter control small varment ie squirrel or coon as example .... a 22 rifle / pistol be good enough .... the rest is overkill, you must also consider common caliber .... as well as capacity.... what can you haul at a short sprint to get from point A to B? .............. after you get Water food and shelter situated then you can enhance you Rambo Status ...... that is the Reality.

      @@LuckyManSurvival the size of a person’s hands will make some of that choice for them. I have small hands, but I still run a 1911 in .45. Since a SHTF scenario has so many variables, you need a truckload of items. Nuclear war, zombies (?), pandemic, China invades, Russia invades, US Govt. invades, economic collapse, meteor strike, environmental disaster, weather disaster, and so on. That means you may need to be armed to repel a military or simply repel hunger. So are you fighting armed soldiers, other preppers, or simply finding squirrels and rabbits for food? And in a world like that, odds are gas ends, so vehicles end, so all of this stuff you need to carry on your back. Don't forget you need to carry water, food, protection from the elements, first aid gear, tools, and such. And you are going to carry an additional 50 lb. of guns and ammo? Are you held up in a protected location or on the move? The only real preparation is to be flexible and adaptable.

    • @LuckyManSurvival
      @LuckyManSurvival 20 днів тому

      Don't forget knowledgeable! Knowledge weighs nothing and like you said being adaptable and knowing skills can make you an asset instead of a liability, like the great Yvonne Chouinard says, the more you know the less you'll need.

    The Mount on that Bergara is backwards dude.

    • @LuckyManSurvival
      @LuckyManSurvival 20 днів тому

      So, there's actually a reason for that. His picatinny rail is too short for a good fit with eye relief, but luckily this cantilever mount is a level mount so there's no degree change between front and back. So his scope is as level backwards as it would be forward on this mount. But good catch, don't worry I mounted that scope myself and insured it was level, no degree change and is zeroed perfectly. But damn good catch, hope to hear from you again!

    Good job in making a video about the SHTF. I think we need to make more videos about this topic. A couple of pointers: 5.56 / 223 is not a Long range round. Long range starts at around 700 to 800 yards and beyond. 10.5” AR SBR may go up to around 200 to 300 yards, but that short barrel will not allow the 5.56 round to perform how it was designed to at longer distances. I agree with the 308 guy. 308 is a great option for SHTF. I respectfully disagree with your opinion about the 1911. It is not a reliable platform. Glock has been proven to out perform the 1911 platform and has been in service for a very, very long time. If you do like metal guns, the Sig, Beretta, and S&W are a lot better choices compared to a Kimber. But if you like your 1911 platform, you do you, but just know that the topic is about SHTF, a 1911 is not a SHTF gun. But a Glock is.

    A shotgun is not best for home defense, will it work yes, but there are much better options these days. Anyone saying shotguns are the best home defense weapon have no idea what theyre talking about. Oh and a 22 will easily go thru and thru a human head at 400 yards, thankfully these are your opinions but you're telling people wrong.

    • @LuckyManSurvival
      @LuckyManSurvival Місяць тому

      Although we love feedback, there is a few things in your statement that is false. First, a 22 has an effect range of 150-200 yards at the most, it barely taps paper at 400 and the drop the bullet will have will be so much that you would have to be an expert marksman for the shot and it still most likely wouldn't even go through a shirt at 400 yards. And if you think shotguns aren't great for home defense talk to Clint Smith who will have a big difference in opinion than you.

    • @alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548
      @alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 Місяць тому

      @@LuckyManSurvival perhaps you should test that because many have and proven what you've said both times is wrong about the 22, I myself have taken game at distances further than you claim it can when I was a young teenager 🤣. I said it's not the best, reffering to the shotgun, and you can point to any "expert" that will corroborate your opinion. Let me guess you don't have to aim with the shotgun either right🤣. Something with less recoil and higher capacity will ALWAYS beat a shotgun in such a situation. Can a shotgun be used effectively? Yes it can, im not saying it can't but I am saying it's not the best. Do some testing and research on these claims so you can see for yourself, I won't hold it against you once you see the error in your ways 🤣.

    • @LuckyManSurvival
      @LuckyManSurvival Місяць тому

      @@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 Well I'm glad you are good with a 22 at long distance, and yes it can be somewhat effective, but it would have to be a precise shot either in the head or a major artery and even then you are really reaching. Secondly, shotguns for someone who knows how to run and gun a shotgun well will be more than effective at close range for home defense. And you absolutely need to aim a shotgun, you can poke fun but trust me when I say this, a rifle inside the home will be 10x louder and more disorienting than a shotgun and if you are using the right load you can ruin someone's day without over penetration and is much more devastating at close range than a rifle. Inside the home you have to seriously be concerned with over penetration, that's why we choose shotguns. But hey, I hope your home intruder is a squirrel for your love of 22 🤙

    One thing is when leveling the scope cross hair is you NEED TO HAVE GUN LEVEL THE LEVEL THE SCOPE CROSSHAIR TO THE RIFLE. If this is skipped the scope can have a cant to it and cause the rifle to shot left or right and cna use up all of you windage left or right depending on the level error. Yes you may be able to use the scope windage knob to get to get on target but then the internal lens will be point way off center causing scope clarity issues. So try and have the level rifle when leveling the scope crosshairs. Another thing I like to use are the no limit scope rings, they have a way of raising and lowering the scope elevation without adjusting the scope's elevation knob. What you can do is leave the scope factory center of the scope crosshair and use the no limit scope rings to put on elevation center, final adjustment can be done with the scope elevation knob. WHAT THIS ACCOMPLISH IS IT KEEP THE SCOPE INTER LENSE CLOSE TO CENTER TO HELP MAINTAIN SCOPE CLARITY. Some shooter like to bottom out the scope elevation with the scope's elevation knob the raise the elevation one to one and half turn to gain more elevation adjustment in the scope. This is fine except clarity can be and issue.

    Do you think it might be beneficial to get as healthy as possible now before there is mass chaos? And growing food everywhere you can? Like in front of that huge window?

      Do you know anything about someone’s physical health just by looking at them? No. Do you also know anything about where they are recording these videos to know if they could grow food in front of “that huge window”? No. It costs absolutely nothing to be kind.

      @@jessicabayo2381 yes, one can ascertain a lot of information by looking. The bad man is always looking for the weak. When things get bad they will start eating up other people’s supplies. It will be the people who know you have it and all your weaknesses that will come and get it. This works city life to country life. Plants grow from photosynthesis. If you are barred inside your dwelling trying to keep your supplies and independence then you better have fresh food when the beef jerky runs out. These gentlemen mean well I’m sure. Yet they haven’t thought far enough into the future of what chaos looks like. They should also ask their women folk for more advice. The women would not have forgotten about cleaning supplies. Also, what to do if public services end? Where will the water come from? And waste will go where? I’m not mean. I’m practical. I’m paying attention. No I don’t know where they live. Yet I do know they would be at the top of my list if I was going after someone else’s supplies. These boys have guns, sure, of course. What happens when the bullets run out?
