This is a press brake that I built a few years back. It produces 35-40 tons of pressure and will bend around 30" of 3/16" material in a 1-1/2" lower die.

Great video. I'm wondering how you treated the end of the threaded rods that raise and lower the top roller. How does it lift the roller up, is there a shaft collar or something on there?
It's not treated. I just put a slight chamfer on the end and put a little grease on it. It's been fine so far! I suppose that I could case harden the end. It has struts that lift it back up. I've had customers come up with pretty clever solutions to lifting the roller back up. My favorite that I've seen is a cantilevered counterweight that appears to work really well.
@@trinityfabworks6493Ahh, I didn't see the air spring. The version I was going to try was having a upside down U shaped bracket on top of the bushing block- the threaded rod lead screw runs through that and then there is a threaded shaft collar on the lead screw below the bracket so you can use the lead screw to lift as well as lower the roller.

Id just put a rail on each side of the heater element and once the oven is up to temp slide thkse baffles right in

Have been looking for video 3 - what changes would you suggest for the air circulating fan (you mentioned that you were not happy with it in this video).
Like your honesty with this video👍. Not like the last video i watched the bloke was selling his dxf file on esty and the legs were the feet meet weren't drawn at the correct angle for when you were to weld on the circle feet on. Plus he sounded full of him self🤦♂.

The name is kind of two fold! Yes it is! It also kind of has a double meaning. I told my wife that when I started our business, that no matter what it became, it would always belong to myself, her, and to God.

The positioning of that Mig welder doesn’t affect its performance at all?? Like the flow of the Argon/C02 or the wire feed? I want to make a cart just like this thats why I ask but i was worried about performance of machine due to positioning.
Nope! I've been running it like that for about 2 years now and I haven't had a single issue. I figured that the liner might fail prematurely, but being so cheap I figured that the mobility of the cart outweighed the sub $20 liner replacement. So far, the liner is still a ok. I use that machine all of the time, even in the shop on smaller tubing because I like the small gun over the larger gun on my 252.

what is maximum thickness mild steel plate can bend
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I've never maxxed out the machine. I have people that have told me that they've bent around 30" of 3/16" stainless on it without any issues, but I have yet to find its max.

Hi, I have watched a 100 powder coat oven builds, And your oven, by far is the best looking, There are so many hacked looking builds. Your oven looks profeshional looking. Like your window idea. Can you show more on how the high and low vent was built. I see so many build with channel in the wall and then there is no insulation or only 1 inch. To me this would be a huge heat loss. How long does this take to get to 400 degrees? What watt coils and how many amp breaker. Maybe it you get time showing the controller build would also be great. Thanks

Just do the absolute best quality work that you're capable of. Be straight forward with your customers about your capabilities and don't over promise and under deliver. I've not done any advertising, it's all been 100% word of mouth. That might be why I'm still a small business though 😂

Do you have the plans for the press brake available?
I unfortunately do not. My computer crashed, and I lost a lot of my old files. It's not an ideal design by anymeans, because I designed it around material that I already had on hand. If I was buying all new material, the design would have changed quite a bit.

Thanks! I have several others in the works. A 2x72 belt grinder, a 3x3x5 electric powdercoat oven, a large powdercoat booth, a 6'6"x8'x10' powdercoat oven, and a few other small things as well! They're all done, I'm just compiling/editing all of the videos!

I couldn't even tell you. I think that it was a 2500 psi pump. I bought it from a guy scrapping an old hoist. Picked it up for $40

What's the centerline distance between the bottom rollers? Curious if I build this with some schedule 80, or thicker, if it could handle 1/4" at full width? From what I understand, the bottom roller distance has a lot of say in whether that's possible or not.
I can't remember off of the top of my head. I'll have to check and get back with you. I'm doubtful that it would do full width at 1/4", especially with the pipe threader. I think that you'd probably need to go with a hydraulic unit at that point.

What are you using for a controller for you backstop?
I'm using an adjustable pwm wired to a stepper driver and a two way switch. It doesn't have a controller. You just hold the switch closed to make it move and you click a button to make it switch directions. The adjustable pwm is to speed it up or slow it down.

Sweet build - we're working on a similar one but in an "initial pinch" layout to avoid the flat spots on the ends. One question - are the bushings in the plasma cut holes pressed in or retained with a set screw or anything? I saw you were opening them up with a die grinder, did you cut them purposely small and open them up to fit? Also one small note on those gas struts - you should mount them upside down with the rod end going down and the cylinder body going up - there is an o ring seal on the end of the cylinder body that is self-lubricating but needs to be mounted the other way around so that gravity keeps the lubricant where it's needed.
Nice work man, plasma tables are an amazing investment. Also the lincoln S500 welders have tons of bells and whistles and i have found the auto settings to be very accurate....that being said they are exspensive.
