    I've worked a few different positions at Amazon and for me pick is the most fast paced position worked at, you almost have to move with a since of urgency to meet the high standers Amazon requires time really fly's because you never run out of work when you get finished picking an item there is almost always another pod waiting for you but my favorite position would have to be stow it's the easiest job at OKC1 you are a good picker keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your video

    4:09 i think you pressed the button before the new tote had been scanned so that box you had in the new tote will be registered to that tote u sent off, not the one you replaced it with. gotta be careful with that, rather than rate they'll get on your ass more about pick errors like that.

    • @michaelcastillo5688
      @michaelcastillo5688 4 місяці тому

      yeah i saw that, that is going to mess with her quality, shes going fast is not about going fast is about placing the items flat and neatly to avoid missing items and quality errors

    • @Pingaheimer
      @Pingaheimer 4 місяці тому

      @@michaelcastillo5688 i think if you're worried about putting things "neatly" also you're wasting time. I just make sure i'm not crushing anything underneath something heavier and nothing is sticking out when i push it out because it can jump out of the tote when u push it out. Here's a trick u can use if you're worried that you overfilled and something is gonna fall out. It will fall out on the downward slope when u push it out and there's the sudden stop at an angle, when it lands flat on the conveyor everything usually settles so it won't fall out then. What u do is bend over slightly and hold on the tote until it touches the stop so it doesn't slide downward toward the stop at full speed which is where things will jump out of the tote because of the sudden stop. This trick has helped me avoid errors and usually overfill the totes slightly without having to worry and i'm not wasting too much time replacing totes. Pushing the old tote out with the new makes it go out too fast and that's where small light things or small boxes jump out. With heavy boxes u don't have to worry about going slightly over the top edge of the tote because they won't jump out. Just a tip from someone who's consistently top 5 in pick at my FC. Once u learn all the little hacks and you can go really fast and try to race the other top people picking time usually goes by so much quicker. For me anyways, i really don't mind picking, i get my own little station away from everyone's bullshit and i'm not bothered my entire shift.

    I am a picker… we don’t throw orders in the totes. We are thought to place them and secure that they get delivered to packers in proper manner. The lines take up to an hour to take the product to its final destination. It is hard work . But it gets harder when you don’t love the customers…most of workers don’t. They love $$$$.

    Hi, I have a question. If a product can't be scanned, do you put it in a new tote, pick up the new tote and throw it? Thank you

    • @catchifyoucan232
      @catchifyoucan232 Рік тому

      If the item can’t be scanned, this is what you do: 1. Make sure there isn’t an identical item in the bin that you could use instead (only in the specific slot though! If you’re on F3, for example, you should only pull from F3!! 2. On your computer screen, there’s a button on the bottom that says: “Unscannable;” push that button. 3. If you’re new it might make you do a tutorial; if so, just follow the prompts. 4. If no tutorial, then push the “Resume” button on the middle of the screen. Then there will be a screen with instructions; hit the button on the lower right to continue past the instructions. 5. Using your hand scanner, scan the barcode of the new tote immediately underneath the computer screen. Put the item into that tote and then move that tote to the sixth tote position (it’s the only spot that never gets used normally) and push the tote down. And that’s basically it! It’s pretty easy once you’ve done it a few times; the only issue is that it slows down your task (“Takt”) time, but it’s pretty rare (one item every 300 picks).
