We had this motor machined at Millar Racing in Canada. The case, cylinder and head were all custom machined. Had to wait months for a genuine Keihin carb to come in. Sudco the national distributor closed their doors this year );

@@ferv888, I have a pic of the bearings. Not sure how to share
Under whose authority was this seized?
@@jammasterjay me
I seen used ones on ebay look the same
Can see it turned colors too
that’s how most rods and crankshafts for those little motors come from factory.
Thanks for the video!! Helped a lot. Question, I followed both parts. My Raves didn’t have the O ring when I took them out. Is that normal? Also do you have to use a factory skidoo O ring?
@@billyc931, you can use good aftermarket or or oem. The o ring should be installed always
@ thank you so much for replying!! Bought this sled used a couple years ago. Finally getting it back to 100%
@ is this for a 600 or 800etec? I’m looking at the pictures on skidoo and I’m not seeing that O ring on the shaft for an 800etec, just the 600. Thanks
@@billyc931, just follow what the parts fiche lists
Dude I’m working on an 86 cr500 right now and I can’t get my exhaust flange to seal even with a new gasket. Do you ever use rtv under the flange?
I use high temp silicone on all my connections
Did you remove the thermostat first?

I just got an 03 prairie 360 4x4 from someone who gave it to me. It's in limp mode and the procedure doesn't work. The light doesn't blink fast while doing the reset. Any ideas of what to do?
@@williamjolly5539, pull the cover off and see if the switch is flipped.
@southeastpowersports I did check the switch and it's in the on position.
Download a manual from trade bit
No you do not freeze the smaller cylinders you can fill them up outside in the blow fucking freezing ass weather you do not take a 20 lb propane tank and put it on a heater you likely blow yourself up😊
Thank you for taking the time to make this it was exactly what was wrong with mine.
Glad it helped you.
I have all intake valves too tight on my 2021 rzr. Should i pull the head and inspect? Or swap buckets and shoot for the moon. ?
@@mreyes121 , if you plan on keeping it so the conversion. Then next time it'll be much cheaper and easier.
It's a customers. Doubt he'll sell
I just ordered the shim conversion kit for my XP Turbo. I am going to attempt to install the keepers with the head on the motor
It may not be possible to compress your springs with the head on. They are counter sunk into the head and a on the engine spring compressor will not fit.
Nice build,Iam currently building an 88,such fun machines to build, ride and own.thanks for the video appreciate all R content..
Glad you like them!
Kam rate how much rate Karnataka😊😊😊
Um what?
I am in process of building more kits
Wow she sounds dialed. Nice R man. Any chance you could explain how to convert to an led headlight?
I'm coming out with a kit. I have all the pieces ready. Just need to list it on my website. $250 for light, brackets with your pick of powder coated color.

I can’t get the piston to go down
Make sure it's lubed good with brake fluid. Then try forced air through the bleeder or line inlet
I was hoping you'd start at the actual beginning of taking it apart. I took delivery of one of these calipers and the manufacturer (or shipper) stuck a plastic spacer between the pads which is proving impossible to remove without damaging the flimsy pads. Used a needlenose, screwdriver, small punch and hammer, pick-- it will not go up, down or sideways. I then tried to make the pins retract-- not sure how to do that without damaging something else-- in short, an exercise in frustration. What a mess. You can't even easily get at the piston to retract it-- the outer pins seem to be inaccessible-- I'm no newbie-- I'm a former licensed Honda auto mechanic-- but I'm spoiled-- I'm used to things that are logically designed and user friendly. Not this ridiculous design that calls for unnecessary maneuvers. But you do get what you pay for. In this case, a headache.
Same here I have some bad pads and can’t replace them because the thing holding the pad won’t go down it’s touching the top pad
Maybe try a oem caliper
We had to redo the squish test. All I did was rotate the crank at the magneto. Squish was too tight so it made it difficult. Look at part 2.
And you got the solder stuck. I'm nit sure of the goal of a squish test. Measuring how much clearance the piston to spark plug has I'm just confuzzled.
It was stuck because the squish was too tight. The goal is .040". That squish measured at .030. We had to send the head out to correct it. When it was corrected, the test went smooth.
I’ll bet he was wanting to take it for a ride. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT250R Quadracer with original plastics , seat ,engine and chassis. Original owner, garage kept and still ride it occasionally. It’s been a great 4 wheeler. The dealership I bought from closed years ago and a friend that worked there got me 2 of the display ad photos from the showroom.
I have a bunch of different codes and the 4 wheel drive is blinking differently than the f1
Solucionó su problema ?
Thanks
Cool machine.
Something is wrong with your sound.
The next time I do this kind of job I will redo the video
DL-1000/V-Strom had the same probleme .... They all need more fuel to idle . Power Commander (Dobeck TFI ) solved this probleme for me
Thats valve seats. Not fuel.
Put a reman head on it, same issue. Problem solved by raising the needle and adjust air screw.

Excelent video! It took me some time to realize that most of grass mower idle lean (I never liked those count explotions). I understand that this is for the fulfilment of environmental regulations What motor is it?
It is a Kawasaki prairie 650. I raised the needle to fix the issue.
Fuel pump was replaced and there is excellent fuel flow

Not sure what that means
How do you get the rubber off the cable?
It slides off. Use a small pick or screwdriver to loosen. You can use silicone spray and spray under the boot to help with this process
