Felt like cho expected to lose this matchup and played like it until it came true. He was playing way too passively for the first 10m. He ran from several fights with ult up... What did i miss here?

I think this came down to an awkward Ambessa who wants to dive, but no one to dive with? Versus Cho just had to be a tank in a front to back comp. Just apply CC and not die 👌

I'm not a GM player, but I think this is a great example of why you should go ring in basically every melee matchup. Bros running out of mana constantly and only engages a few times a minute. Unless you're expecting to proc it every time you go for a minion, like into Vlad, Ambessa, etc. it's better to have the mana regen.

I like spell book from a theoretical perspective, it just seems so useful. But grasp is such an easy rune to play around and helps reinforce that "little wins" mindset.

"Watch Cho'Gath outplay Ambessa in Master elo! " yet cho lost every 1v1 with ambessa, only killling her once in the laning phase when the jungler ganked. Usually the game you provide have some mastery of the champion / matchups but this one is a joke. He overstayed so many times and died in 1v2/1v3 just because of it, especially with his first shutdown (and he was only able to get there thanks to his jgl, he was 0/2 with only early laning before the gank). Many times he Qs under himself even though ambessa already put distance, this is lost damage and even more mana issues. Taking a doran ring and using more spells on the wave and avoiding all ins is the best solution in early for cho. Also targeting the caster minions is huge because they are doing more damage than the melee ones, Q or Q+W should be enough to get rid of a lot of lane pressure from casters. Also like why unlock E after Q knowing that it will force you to get closer, hence more danger ? Just Q => W => E. If you build a rod of ages you will one shot casters with Q. Your poke will be huge, and by preventing all-ins by ambessa (or yone / yasuo / sylas) you prevent them from sustaining on you (and hurting you). I experimented a bit and roa => heartsteel or riftmaker => kaenic / thornmail / resistances let you be able to dish a lot of damage while being tanky enough if you play safer (I use sorcery boots). I am no master but I main cho and seriously this one game was ridiculous to me.

Domisum, have you ever considered making a live stream that just plays ALL diamond plus Cho games? I would definitely watch that. So long as the games are in the current patch I'd watch even the cringe losses.

Gauntlet is galaxy brain in this specific game and seemed like BIS against Ambessa. Those huge slow fields put in some work

A lot of Cho's build heart steel, and maybe it's mathematically correct or something, but in my opinion you need '0 agency items' more. By that I mean after laning phase it's so common to just be CC'd to oblivion, you're not going to usually be running around catching people and getting HS stacks. Not to mention its expensive... Sunfire and bramble vest on the other hand get results even if you can't attack.

I'm divided between Warmog and Heartsteel on this game. From what I've counted Warmog heal was almost never activated on the game.

Hey man, nice gameplay Could you help me with an advice please? For example when your team needs a tank and you decide to become one, is it absolutely necessary to take Resolve runes to play as full tank or you can go AP+HP hybrid and take Sorcery Runes?Asking because you know when Cho stacks his ult he becomes bigger and slower and you cannot reach anybody neither you can escape if being ganked so you need more speed and i was thinking of combining Celerity+Approaching Velocity, but does it really worth sacrificing a whole runepage made for tanks just for 23% MS?

In tough matchups like this, i run sunfire to help me farming, or warmog to sustain and go full tank without heartsteel
