I bought this Album for my dad while on holiday in Bath Uk in 1981 from Australia aged 15. I played it more than him. I had family history in the Royal Navy. I still have it and still in immaculate condition. It’s a prized memory. I joined the army like my dad in the end; much to the annoyance of my Uncle, a retired RN Admiral. Thank you post allowing to play on my stereo via iPhone in my kitchen. 👍

An interesting upbeat adaptation of an old slow waltz piece, I have this disk, in a less tidy condition than your sample. From vague memory from recovering 78 rpm disks about twenty years back, the MGM disks had good audio and dynamic range and surface noise not such an issue as with other labels.

Shaving you face while listening to this is a pretty good experience

OMG I listened to Rod all the time. I used to live in West London and could just about pick it up depending on the weather! I was about 14! Remember that jingle so well and of course Weirdy Beardy! Haha! Amazing!!!!

Very nice!! Sounds much clearer than what I remember as I kid using a 4 speed portable transistor record player in the 1960s. What turntable and cartridge are used here? Is there a special phono preamp used?
