How far above water line can I go? Just bought it I payed 32 I like it so far.

was it specifically red slate you added that caused the algae?? i have a tank with red slate and it has stared appearing in the gravel and glass

I wish you'd had this video a couple of months ago! With the change in how the block works, it took me forever to figure out. Once I figured it out, THEN the instructions made sense. It was advertised as a 360 when I purchased it at PetSmart. So I was really confused why it went together differently. Your video would have really helped. Great video, but the way.

I have this same filter I got with a 20 gal kit. Do you know where I can get a filter intake valve, mine didn't come with one. I just lost a shrimp, fish, and a frog to my filter sucking them in.

Ugh. I bought two whale 500 today. One works fine and the other leaks just like yours. I tried removing the disconnect and putting it back. No luck. Waiting for support to contact me back. What a pain in the ass

How long did it take for all the water to leak out?

Got a whale 500 and same leak happened for me. and for some reason it does not prime as well. But when the valve body is moved / rock back and forth it primed and worked. Could not understand what the issue is..

love this filter but it dont fit right in a 75gallon with vera top.the glass over hangs.

I used to have one of those. Lasted about 6 years.

Great filter I own 2 of them the Pro 200 perfect no issue at all. The problem with the bad reviews were practically people who could not use the so called WiFi which was practically Bluetooth in a way so many great features!!

Those are great filters!! If i had the space behind my tank ( I set mine up to close to the wall and did not want to move it) I went with a fluval 207 for my 29 planted community. It's doing great. I use to keep African cichlids back in the day and man I miss them!!! But when we move in 8 months (from apartment to a house) I will be adding more tanks and the Emperor 450 will be one of the filters i purchase. I Will have another African Cichlid tank!!!

I've owned 3 Marineland canisters two 360s and one 220. All three of them leaked in the same place. There is a gasket of some sort under the primer pump I had to seal it with JB WELD as Marineland customer service absolutely was no help. You couldn't give me another one of those piles of junk. I replaced them with FX6 And never looked back so glad I did

Just got one. Not sure they really needed to go with larger hoses for an extra 40gph increase. The C360 was only 35W, the 400 is 96W, also have to wonder if the increase in flow is worth the extra power consumption. I wanted to hook this up to my Coralife 6X UV but it has 3/4" barbs. I have a 360 on my other tank hooked up to a chiller and UV all with 3/4 fittings. I also put the big Fluval FX5 intake strainer on the original black intake tube. It fits loosely but doesn't fall off. I'll probably just use 3/4 I'd tubing on the 400 anyway. Slides on fine if heated up a little. The valve blocks are prone to leak if the hoses sag or droop down because they put pressure on the o-rings on the nipples where they swivel. If you unscrew the valve block you can disassemble and replace and lube all the o-rings as needed. Should be done once a year and it will prevent leaks from occurring! Marineland doesn't seem to keep parts in stock for these so invest in some o-ring assortment kits!

I wouldn't have gotten this setup without you. I found it yesterday in the dumpster in Hon arkansas. Hadn't been used. In fact I found 2 different filters. BRAND NEW. I just put my mystery snails outside in a large barrel. All I need is a heater. Back again today. 😮

Nice video. Looks very cheap to me. Packaging too. I wonder if it comes out of the same factory as Sun Sun (All Pond Solutions in the UK). I've seen a few filters that look very similar. With those style trays. Anyway. As long as it works.

I used to be a Marineland filter fanboy from when the first bio wheels came out, but no more. I have the Magniflow 220 I got new just a few years ago and one of the rubber tips on the impeller shaft got misshapen so it started to make a lot of noise. They do not make/sell the impeller anymore. I diyed a solution, but not the point. I thought companies were supposed to make spare parts for 10 years after a product was discontinued. Anyway, I am on the Eheim/Fluval bandwagon now. Too bad cause I liked the Marineland and they were less expensive.

Looks like a nice canister filter. $124.99 (55% off). Normally $278.69 at Chewy. Thats a good price. Too bad they are temporarily sold out.

Koi are very expensive Even small ones Sir you did right by these fish I sold fish to carnival games For 40 years I'm now 70 years old And most people take them home Put them in a jar They do not know you need A dechlorinator So right there With tap water That's the end of the fish No matter if it was sick when you got it Or not Like I said You did good but most people don't

I don't own one of these but i have been impressed with what I've seen in the past and now with your honest video im not liking the hose or the way they connect to the motor so think you for sharing this video. Not saying i won't buy one in the future but have some worries. Thanks for sharing
