Episode 5 - Powering Up (Eventually) and Running
Переглядів 22021 годину тому
This time out I connect the prototype board controller to drive the servos and relays and then fix it when it doesn't work, followed by more train running to test its all eventually working just fine. Includes an outline of how the control concept is meant to work This gets Board "E" to be functional if not pretty
Episode 4 - Servos, Reassembly and trains running at last!

In the forth episode of my OO model railway build, I configure a pair of point servos, fit the brackets and then install the servos and arms to handle the first two points, refit the board to the layout and actually run a couple of trains to test the wiring!
Episode 3 - Progress on Wiring board E
Переглядів 13721 день тому
This video completes (nearly!) the wiring of Board E on Leopard Street with the connections described in the last episode being implemented to connect seven electrical blocks one diamond crossing and two turnouts, mostly, wired up ready for testing. This covers crimping and the general wiring arrangements

first part of several covering the wiring of the layout, here the overview of the plan, dismantling the first board and mounting ready for work. Plus an overview of whats going on and hooking up the first of the terminal blocks. This will be followed shortly by a second part (video split to manage the length below 15 mins) with the rest of the wires for this board
Episode 01 - Introduction

An introductory video to the Leopard Street OO Gauge Model Railway project, a brief overview of the current state, a layout tour and thoughts on the next steps. I'm new with this camera and this sort of thing, the quality and production values will, hopefully, improve. Comments, thoughts, insults (if amusing) etc all welcomed
Scalextric Arduino Lap Counter, Part 2
Переглядів 4464 роки тому
second demonstration of an arduino based lap counter for scalextric, this time with the detector circuit actually in place in the track - using an Infra-Red LED and phototransistor located under the track. Currently taking an analog reading from the sensor as I'm having a few issues masking the sensor properly so using the actual reading level to detect the cars (more work required on actually ...
Lap Timer/Counter Prototype

First video of a prototype lap counter and timer for slot car tracks made using an Arduino Mega and some swearing (none in the video though) Not connected to a track so the right most button simulates the track sensor. Left button starts a count down on the LEDs to the right and resets the lap count and time, next button stops a running race, next one is a "yellow flag" function that basically ...
