I mean, every cities has its own not so well maintained area. We acknowlege that Malaysia has so much to improve and constantly urging the authority to keep up their work. Not to mention that it's the people's responsibility too to keep the city clean.

The gulf states aren't really like proper advanced economies and are never going to be the same as places like NYC or London. They are built from the proceeds of oil, a limited resource, using slaves from places like Pakistan. Ultimately as countries transition to renewables and oil is no longer available, these places will fall back to being the fishing villages they once were. The 'crypto bro' and tax avoiding companies that they are also currently sustaining are never going to be long term options. Even tourists have started to view the places as a bit tacky. The strong rule of law is not properly balanced with human rights, and freedoms we take for granted, they are essentially dictatorships, and there have been countless examples of imprisonment of westerners for things like 'accidentally brushing up against an Emirati' or 'going bankrupt' (a crime in UAE). I hope you enjoy your trip, but these are not places that are comparable to proper countries, they are essentially temporary theme parks paid by oil and human suffering.

I am confused when you said you had to pay thousands for a work visa to Singapore. If you get a job in job, the employer will pay for the visa. You don’t have to pay any money. But you will still need money to survive the first couple of months when you reach Singapore. When you get your salary then it will be easier.

I"m torn in my decision.. we are from California and we are visiting London for 1st time. 4 nights in July. We have a nice hotel in Notting Hill but CW seems so clean and safe which is priority for our kids. Tube works well and I think CW would work out just fine. Your thoughts?
