I’m the world’s un-handiest dude. The thumb latch fell off my knob, so I started unscrewing pieces hoping an easy solution would reveal itself. Instead, parts rained down onto the floor. I thought, well, there’s a couple hundred bucks out the door for a locksmith call. But your video saved me! Everything fit back together perfectly as you showed, and the knob works as new. Thank you!

Does anyone know where I can buy these parts? I have a steel door so when the inner mechanism came apart it all fell down into the door, I was only able to pull up the metal parts with a long magnet but not the plastic gear. Also, the brass looking plate that holds everything down has only one complete hole to hold it down. So basically I need the plastic gear and a new plate.

Thanks for the informative video, you saved me money, I didn't have to call a locksmith. The exterior portion of my door handle had come totally apart, now it's fixed and working like new.
