3. I saw many people, including a large number of them who were not fans of Lang Lang, said that his interpretation of this piece is perfect, which isn’t the truth. Therefore, I think it’s of great necessity to upload this video. I have played this piece myself, so I know how hard it is to reach Lang Lang’s level. However, his performance CANNOT be considered as perfect, and is actually far from perfect. Good techniques shouldn’t be something to show off, but should be something to serve for good musicality, and exaggerated dynamical changes have NOTHING to do with good musicality. Good musicality starts from understanding the composer’s intention, and then injecting the musician’s talent into the interpretation.
