I know its a long time ago and doesnt matter much now. But the trick is to not tighten nuts up top. Just thread enough to hold it up. This allows for movement and play to adjust enough to get bolt lined up on bottom. Otherwise you are just trying to bend the strut being held by tight bolts up top.

if you took it to a dealer or auto repair shop they surely would have charged you at least $350 easily. There were two other quick options, use contact cleaner first to flood the switch to clean it, if that doesn't work, jumper those two pins on the connecter to take that switch out of the circuit. Of course, they way you did it was the better way if cleaning the switch didn't work. Why are the most crooked people the auto repair shops or dealerships? Great video, and thanks

Man overpriced hondas and toyotas is right!! I paid 2k for an 'as-is' junkyard '02 accord with 189k miles last year (they lied about the odometer reading😭) and it's needed a ton of freaking work. Timing belt, transmission rebuild, new radiator fan, new rear door handles, interior cleaning, etc etc. I'm just hoping this is just the initial hump and it'll be fine after this. I should have went with my gut and just bought a car like yours tbh. It looks sick. I liked the video presentation as well. Keep rocking it man 🔥

That era Taurus are really reliable cars, Vulcan 3.0 is a great engine, not many problems. The weakest point of those cars is the transmission. Looks like a great choice for a daily driver on the cheap. I have a 2009 Ford Fusion bought it back in 2015 for $4500 with 90K miles, Still runs like a champ and just passed 170K. A lot of the Fords before 2012 are much better cars, way less quality issue than the newer Fords.

Thank you! Questions: 1). How do you know which of the four doors that's causing the problem i.e its switch isn't working? 2). Wouldn't removing the switch, without replacement be better for an older car?, and 3). Is there a fuse that's specially allocated for the door switch to unplug and solve the problem without replacing the switch?
